Usually, the complaint you are making goes the other way around: Things work from VB (or C++ or command line or...) but don't work from ASP.

But it's all because ASP runs under a different account than you do. When you run a VB6 ".exe", you run under your own personal permissions. When you run anything under ASP, you are actually running under IIS and so you are using the permissions of the "IUSR_xxxx" user (where "xxxx" is the machine name where IIS is hosted).

So...

Go ask your server administrator to give you the same permissions for CDO (or, more likely, permissions to use SMTP) as he/she has given to IUSR_xxxx.

Okay, not really relating to this forum, but I've been looking all over trying to find a solution and figured someone here would know.

I have a vb6 app that sends email with CDO using authentication. It works perfect on my local machine, however when I put it on one of my servers running W2K3, it doesn't send the email. BUT-- I can send email in web applications using CDO on the server.

ASP.NET has *ZERO* relevance to doing this in a browser. You'd have to create a COM component (or, I suppose, a Java Applet) and convince the user to install in the browser and and and...

Ugh. TONS more work. Not that doing this with a Windows app will be trivial. But *much* easier than creating a browser plugin.

a windows versus web based app would be better I would think in this case, you would need to access the windows drawing components and interface with them to display an input area to use for input once windows recognized it as an area for this type of imput you should be able to enter it as any other device would then you would just save the "canvas" probably as a bitmap, as a web based application you would have to use some sort of javascript or something like it to capture the mouse or pen input the .net part of a web application would be easy, the javascript would be the harder part. http://javascript.internet.com could give you a start in the right direction for a web based app.

Use an Image Button Instead, at most you would have to create 31, make them all the same size it would be quick to do in Photoshop or Fireworks. That way anywhere in the cell they clicked it would work. You could also use an image map technique but image buttons would be easier.

Oh, the "front page" (http://www.aspfaqs.com) is there, but none of the links work (about 80% of the time, that is).

Example: Just now I tried to get to

Yes, you should/could use FormatDateTime( ). And yes the format depends on the locale of the server machine.

But you can override the locale, easily.

You should, in fact. Just choose the LCID value that corresponds to your country. Look here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/0h88fahh(VS.85).aspx

So, for example, if your country is Germany, you would just do
Session.LCID = 1031

Notice that this also changes the display of currency to match your country, as when you do
Response.Write FormatCurrency( 18371.338 )

And various other changes occur correctly, too.

I have very limited experience connecting to databases (I copy and use a basic connetion) and I have never connected to SQL. Wondering if someone could help me modify the following for use with SQL so I can get used to it in the format I'm used to.

If light and matter are the same but into a different evolutive order (or frequency level)

if you decompile light you can make a chain reaction explosion involving whole Universe...

hence if black matter is light in primitive state and you decompile black matter you can decompile evolutioned light (UNIVERSE) cause have the same COMPLEX ID...

In doing further research I found the answer in case anyone else is looking: It turns out that Data caching (which I had never heard of prior to today) is amazingly effective for this sort of situation.

Hello again, all.

I know that I clearly doing something wrong.

I am trying to accomplish 2 things at same time with this script below.

First, I want the validate user credentials (username/password).

Second, once validation is successful, I want the window to open full screen.

So far, the window opens 2 screens of same processFull.asp.

Please help me; thanks in advance.
