Amethyst

Someone, amethyst is often associated with psychics – I’m not sure why, perhaps such association has been forced by mass-media, TV shows and movies. Amethyst was used in Ancient Greece to protect the person from getting drunk – the crystal was placed in a cup, and the person drunk the alcohol from this cup. I’m yet to experiment with this, however :).

In psionic science, amethyst is often used as a mean of cleansing negative energies and protecting the person or entire room from it. Yet instead of placing them in each and every haunted house, it should be wear or kept in clothes, or it should remain in your own house. Amethyst is also used to cleanse and revitalize other crystals (especially, amethyst brush is used for this). Other crystals should be left near the amethyst for couple of hours in order for them recharge.

Beside that, it’s hard to find out other uses for amethyst in psionics.

Mountain Crystal (Quartz)

Also known as the Pure Quartz, or the Glass Quartz, this beautiful white, transparent crystal should be mainly used for meditation, as mean for increasing focus and concentration. Normally, without Quartz I have problems staying in meditation state for more than 5 minutes (I’m beginning to think I have some form of ADHD), with Quartz in my hand, I can remain in this state for 30 and more minutes.

For centuries, pure quartz was used to lower the activity of hyper-active children, it was placed in a glass or bottle of water, and the water was given to child to drink – no wonder it helps in meditation. This way of using quartz remained for this very day, you can try it for yourself, yet I have to admit, I never experimented with “quartz-powered” water… yet :). But for meditation, it’s perfect!

It is said also, that quartz can increase telepathic abilities, yet I guess it’s mainly related to increased focus and calm of a person.

Mahogany Obsidian

Nice, black-brown stone, should be used for enforcing altered states of consciousness, it will also support your sleep. If you are tired, either physically or mentally, and you need long and deep sleep, place the Mahogany Obsidian under the pillow and have a nice sleep :). Trust me, you won’t get up, heh. Yet don’t expect remembering any dreams. The sleep will be so deep you might not remember anything.

If you’re experimenting with altered states of consciousness, especially like Astral Projection, you can place the Obsidian on your heart or third eye chakra, or even under the pillow, for some people it’s giving interesting results.

Never include money you do not have in your monthly budget as long as you do not have them :). The worse thing is, that because of this cheating (in some way caused by my own stupidity) I have to rebuild the budget for next 3 months and I’m not really sure how I’m going to earn enough money to go to University. Yet Tao says “here and now” so I’m not going to worry about it just yet.

I will try to keep posting an article each two days, so readers won’t be affected, but forgive me if I won’t be able to keep up for the next few weeks. How can the pendulum or crystal possible cleanse the room of negative energies or demon? Honestly, I have no idea. Pendulum is used for divination purposes and to communicate with ones subconscious mind (or higher mind, as some people call it). But it can’t do much against demon. Someone might say: “OK, but it’s not used to cleanse the house of demons, but to locate them”. Well, first of all – if we have a close encounter with a demon, it will find you :). Second of all, the demon is in the house, so there’s no point looking for it, don’t you think? Finally, if you’re walking around, the laws of physics are saying “the pendulum will move” and it will move according to the laws of physics, not some supernatural influence, sorry. Ergo, using pendulum when walking around to deal with negative energies, demons or astral critters is a total waste of time.

Second thing: crystals & gemstones. I do not understand what’s the purpose of using them “in the field” against “creatures of the night”. There’s really no point, crystals aren’t weapons, and they can’t do much. You can meditate with crystals, you can experiment with them, learn to work with them, and use them for your own development, yet in the field they’re not very useful to wave in air :). Quartz can increase your focus, and amethyst might act as protection of negative energies, so these two crystals I understand – but wearing them, not waving them in hand and singing mantra “Ohmmmmm” :P. I often keep an amethyst somewhere near me, but besides that, I don’t use crystals “in the field”, because there’s no point of doing so, at least I haven’t found the point yet.

I used to say: it doesn’t matter what you have in your shaman’s bag, what does matter is if you know how to use things you have in it. So, don’t trust the psychic using pendulum to exorcise a demon – it makes me laugh, try to imagine the reaction of the demon itself :P.

In the past few years I had many weird experiences. I talked with dying trees, I stayed in the haunted wood, I seen ghosts and energies, I felt the power of living plants, I was pressed to the bed and throw on the wall by my personal poltergeist effect, I felt emotions and feelings via empathic means, I knew things before they happened. I was experimenting too, I felt the power of crystals, interfered radio waves with psiball, bend forks with psychokinesis, not mentioning precognition dreams and strange visions in altered states of consciousness when experimenting with Hemi-Sync technology. And those are only some of weird things that I experienced in past. Some of these weird things are still happening.

Yet I haven’t woke up any “gift”. My skills sometime works, sometime not, sometime things are just happening, and sometime I think these years were worth nothing. Yet here I am, more experienced than years ago, with more knowledge and some level of practical skills, with knowledge that psychic phenomena is real, that runes are powerful signs, that ghosts do exist. But I’m not psychic, and I believe I’m no longer just a psionic explorer, nor I am shaman or druid. Who am I then? More than that – who should I become?

I guess it’s enough of playing around, and experimenting with different things. It’s time to focus on something in particular. These days I think it’s time for specialization. I want to focus on theoretical knowledge regarding crystals, magic, divination, psionic science and wide range of astral and semi-astral planes (this include dealing with ghost hauntings and paranormal), while keeping focus on energy work, astral projection and runecasting when it comes to practical skills (AP is an ability I’m still on theoretical level, damn – I’m lazy bastard lol). No playing with psychokinesis, no experimenting with interfering radio waves, no telepathic experiments. Just pure energy manipulation and “let’s see what will happen” approach.

For the following  months, I plan meditation, New Energy Ways practise, Astral Projection training and books, books, books. Don’t worry – it won’t affect ASoM, I will keep sharing knowledge as best as I can. Then we will see where this approach will get me.

Imagine you’re standing in front of a skyscraper right now – it’s very tall, you can’t even see the roof – but you know it is out there – somewhere very high, and it seems it’s impossible to reach it. But you can reach it – all you have to do is to start walking. Get inside and you will find an elevator, or stairs. In both cases, you have two choices – go down or go up. Let’s see what’s below us.

There is a corridor with few rooms, named “greed“, “disappointment” and “anger“. You’ve been here before many times – you see these doors in a weak light and you don’t like it here, do you? Keep walking down, and you will find another corridor with new doors: “hate“, “depression” and “fear“. At the end of this corridor you can see last doors: “loneliness“. Now it’s totally unfriendly place, so let’s get back to the lobby above.

Let’s go up – and you will find doors named “safety“, “family” and” happiness“. Get one more floor up and here it is “hunches“, “feelings“, “dreams“. Welcome to the “psychic floor“. Keep heading to the top, and you will see a lot more interesting places – some opened, some closed…

So you’re standing on the lobby now – you have few choices. You can stay here, and live a normal life, you can go to the basements and fall into depression, or you can get up – achieve your dreams and even further – learn the spiritual world and find out your true destiny. You can take the elevator and get there faster – or you can take the stairs – they are more difficult, but you won’t get stuck between floors.

Your mind is a puzzle – in order to open some doors, you will have to find keys – in order to find keys, you will have to learn new skills and engage different quests. At any point you can stop playing this game – and stay where you are, or get back. Or you can keep moving up – it’s your and only your choice. I just hope you’re not afraid of hight? ;)

We already have Harry Potter for magic, Twilight for vampirism, but psionics? How can this be, that despite my searches, I can’t find any good book or TV show with psychics instead of vampires? ;) Let’s be honest, no book or TV show like this ever hit the mainstream media. I’m asking – why? It’s a huge niche to write fascinating action/adventure story, with elements of mysteries, conspiracies, government psychic warrior programs, and all that’s really needed is a good writer. Therefore, here’s the idea – someone could fill this niche, and finally write some good psionics-related novel.

We are not heirs of ancient culture, nor any super powers are included in our life (so no X-Man here), but the variety of topics for such novel is huge! To mention the few: ancient Atlantis, ghosts and spirits, astral planes, out of body experiences, life after death, secret government psychic research (can you feel this atmosphere of secret Russian post-cold war research facility in Siberia?), even elements of wicca and runecasting :). Merge all of this, put elements of conspiracy, friendship and psionic community, create the good guys and bad guys, don’t forget about some huge library with tons of books as one of story locations, include some love theme et voila – action/adventure novel for the youth!

Can you think of a better way for promotion than a novel showing the world in our eyes? So, any writer out there? If I wouldn’t be so crapy about writing plot-based stories, I could do this myself, but I really prefer to live it to professionals – but know, that I will be happy to help any writer willing to write such novel and I will be happy to act as a consultant for free :).

…Those are cards used to conduct experiments for extra-sensory perception. For clairvoyance, to be more specific, or telepathic sending and receiving. Three persons are included in each experiment:

• Sender – this person is picking the card and sending the image to receiver.
• Receiver – this person is receiving the image, trying to hit as many cards as possible.
• Monitor – this person is monitoring the experiment, shuffling the cards and writing down results (hits or misses).

If you can’t find the third person to act as a monitor, results can be kept by both sender and receiver. Sender will be writing down the cards he was “projecting”, and receiver will be writing down the cards he was receiving.

How to conduct your own Zener Cards experiment

First, you have to equip yourself with a deck of 25 Zener cards. Click here to download a PDF file, print it et voila – you will have your own deck of Zener cards. See, the deck consists of 5 sets of 5 symbols: a cross, a circle, a square, a wave and a star.

Then prepare an experiment area (stage, set). Both sender and receiver should be located in two separate rooms, without any ability to contact with each other. If this is impossible, use a table, and place a partition in the middle of it, you can use a simple cardboard, just make sure sender and receiver won’t be able to see each other (even hear, put something in their ears, heh). Eliminate distractions like TV or radio, music of any kind, close the window, turn off all noisy equipment.

If you’ve managed to place both sender and receiver in separate rooms, you can eliminate distractions of your “control” by using technology. Get a laptop (or PC), two webcams and two small speakers (to give directives), plug them into laptop, configure and by doing this, you will be able to monitor both persons without the need of entering each room. Not mentioning the simple fact that this way you will feel more “scientific” :P.

Now, decide how many trials you want to perform – it can be 25, 50, 75, but I would suggest no more than 100, as it will get tiring after reaching this number.

For each trial, shuffle the deck of 25 cards and place them with images facing down in front of the sender. On monitor’s mark, the sender is picking up one card, and by using his favorite method, he is “transmiting” it to the receiver. He is trying to receive the image of the card and write it down. When the receiver is done, repeat this step 24 more times :). Also, it would be wise not to tell the receiver if he was successful in hitting the card before all 25 cards have passed.

Reason for this is simple – if receiver will know he didn’t hit, he might get stressed, and this will negatively influence the results. And if the receiver will know he did hit, he might get to excited, and this also will influence the results in negative way.

Also remember, monitor is the only person writing down results, so both sender and receiver won’t have to worry about the need of writing down the cards. The only thing monitor should write down is the number of try, and the result: hit or miss.

Doing the math

After all 25 cards (or 100 cards, 4 series, 25 cards each), we have to do the math. Don’t worry, it won’t be difficult at all, just follow the below “how-to” guide:

• Odds of being correct. There are five different symbols, the odds of guessing a card correctly strictly by chance is 1 in 5 – 1/5 = 0.2
• Total number of guesses made – number g
• Correct guesses – number r (i.e. from 100 trials, 30 were correct)
• The average score, by multiplying the number of guesses by 0.2 – g x 0.2 – number a
• The result of 1 minus odds of being correct – 1 – 0.2 = 0.8
• Multiply the result above by odds of being correct – 0.8 x 0.2 = 0.16 – number b
• Multiply this result by total number of guesses – b x g (i.e. 0.16 x 100 = 16) – number c
• Figure out the square root of c (i.e. square root of 16 = 4) – number s
• Subtract the average score from the number of correct guesses – r – a (i.e. 30-20 = 10) – number d
• Divide the result by s – d/s – number m

M is the magical number!

• If m is less than or equal to 1.96, the results are considered not very significant.
• If m is above 2.58, the results are considered significant.
• If m is above 3, the results are considered very significant.

And that’s all. You can now have some great time with your friends by pushing the psionic science forward :). See, it wasn’t very hard, right? Using the mentioned webcams, speakers and microphones you can also record the experiment for further referrences or just to collect even more data :).

Just remember – have fun :). Now you have the reason to form an off-line psionic club.

We can recognize three types of psionics-focused websites:

• Informational websites - like PsiPog, or this blog, these sites deal with providing information and tutorials, as well as opinions and other random thoughts regarding psychic phenomena. We can call them “educational websites”.
• Community websites – any forum can be throw into this category, this is where people can discuss things and share their own experiences, or just talk with each other.
• Online services – apps, like Basecamp for project management :). Websites giving users some service to use, to store and manipulate information, online tools helping in daily tasks or in smaller/larger projects of different kinds.

Because our community could use some apps of the third category, here are few ideas for such online services:

Psionics Research Center

Imagine a website, where people can register and participate in experiments, or run their own experiments and ask members to participate. Where they can submit, share and discuss their theories, where they can post results and interpretations of their research, from which whole community can benefit, as everything is a subject of Science Commons license. Where people can submit their experiences as additional information useful for research and theories of others.

Then imagine a donation drive, and people donating for website budget, so the website can organize contests with prizes, and grants for best experimenters to keep them researching the psychic phenomena.

And imagine this website is free for everyone to register and participate. Now go, and create this website! :)

Psiternity – Psionics Practise Center

Here’s another idea. Imagine a website where people can find practise partner. They can register, and look for someone living near them, or they can find someone to practise i.e. telepathy via internet. And they can participate in “Psychometry Items Exchange”, where people share items along with their history with each other, so everyone can practise and test his/her psychometry skills.

Imagine a tracking system for these items, each item have it’s own code, which people can type into system, and history of the item, written down by first owner, and then expanded by next “owners” is being displayed. A great way to develop psychometric skills.

Image that each week, there is a telepathic broadcast, and people can participate in it, write or draw down what they’ve received, and then score points and win prizes in contests. Imagine also a weekly Remote Viewing target, and people trying to “hit” it as best as they can – winning prizes by practising, and practising by winning prizes, what a perfect way to develop abilities, as we have the element of motivation here.

Imagine that people can use this system to start off-line development groups in their area. Also, let users write down their psychic experiences, and then send them to the research website mentioned in the previous idea :).

Psionics is a exploration of your own mind, and a mysterious world of strange phenomena. It’s not your work, it’s not your responsibility, it’s not something you should die for, therefore, exploring this field of human existence should be fun. If you will acquire important scientific data by having fun, that’s great! But you should not be blinded by the pursuit for scientific data or you will reach the wall you can not break through, just like me. Right now, I’m going back to the crossroad, where I begun scientific exploration, only to choose another path – the path of fun and hobby-like exploration.

Tips for saving you from my mistakes

In order to save you from getting lost in this “scientific wood”, here are some tips for you to follow:

1. The world won’t end if you will skip few practise sessions – it’s not a race, if you’re tired, don’t practise. No one is forcing you to practise, and you should not do this also, because if you do, you will become discourage very quickly. Do not force anything, as developing every skill needs time, no matter if it’s riding a bike, fast reading or psychic abilities.
2. If it doesn’t work, it’s OK - the biggest problem with psychic abilities is that very often they are unrepeatable, it refers mainly to psychokinesis or different “zener-like” card tests. In one session you can get a high score, and in the next, you can barely achieve anything. Precognition, premonitions and “knowing things” experiences are also rather unrepeatable. They just happen, you can acknowledge them, interpret them and understand them, but you can’t repeat them. Look at the bright side – each day you can expect some surprises :).
3. One psychic says this, you says something different, you’re both right – most of the time, our experiences are subjective, and mind of each person operates different than others. It’s clearly visible in psychometry or giving psychic readings, two psychics will tell two things, in some range different, in some range similar. In both abilities I mentioned, what psychic speaks depends only on his own interpretation – psychic information are not reaching our mind directly.
4. You can be wrong – meaning, you are allowed to be wrong. There are no ultimate experts in the psionics field, and there are no “all powerful psychics” like we see on these movies like Push or Next. We’re explorers, and we’re learning, and we will be learning for many, many years. You can be wrong, and you have to accept this, because otherwise, you will be too afraid of failure. So don’t be afraid of being wrong, because acknowledging that you can be wrong is another way of learning something new and developing further.
5. Have fun – be Winne the Pooh, wake up and say “I wonder what will happen today“. Experiment with different things like a child, playing with new toys. Have fun and have some good time. There’s nothing to be afraid of (well, almost nothing…), and there’s no need to rush things. Psionic exploration has to be fun, otherwise it wouldn’t be a hobby, would it?

When you will learn enough, there will be time for you to begun scientific exploration of the psychic phenomena, but as someone said once, in order to prove psychic abilities you have to find a psychic first. If we won’t learn anything because of rushing things, we won’t be any good for anyone, right?
