What is Commitment & Dedication? In Youth Sports

Do you think if a swimmer (or any student athlete for that matter) is not all consumed by there sport that they are less dedicated to it? I am on the fence with that question and would love some feed back. I think that if they are showing up at practice and giving 100% all the time at practice and during competition they are dedicated. I decided to base my review on the comments that the kids made about it since they were the ones actually using it. They were amazed that all the buttons still worked, they could use the wheel to change songs and adjust the volume just like a normal iPod Shuffle. The on and off button worked with ease.
