The Hubs and I had talked about switching roles a few times and really considered it when Maddi would only come to me for comfort and he couldn't do anything to console her when crying. So I put my resume in with my friend at Amazon and thought "if it happens, it happens." Intiially, the job I originally applied for was filled on the day of my phone interview. So the phone interview never happened and I was placed into the 'we'll contact you if anything else comes up' pool. I told myself the year of 2012 I would take opportunities as they came, even if they seemed imperfect. There I was holding my Whole Foods bag with dinner, wine and dessert...fresh from a massage (Yes I get them regularly and you should too. He's an amazing stay at home dad. He loves it so much and Maddi and him have the best adventures. They're learning colors, shapes and music. They trot around the city all week long. And their love for each other is infectious. Nine months. I know I say this every month, but I cannot believe you're nine months. You are well on your way to being a toddler. It blows my mind. Wasn't it just yesterday when we saw your little foot during a sonogram? Here you are now, almost walking. Your crawl with lightning speed. Sometimes you start off in a normal moderate paced crawl, then hit your accelerators and morph into the fastest crawler on the planet! You just started sharing your toys with Bowser. You play fetch together, put the dog toys in your mouth and constantly wack him on the head and laugh.<br />

You are a city baby now and love being toted around in a backpack carrier. If I'm wearing you, you pull my hair the entire time and squeal when you laugh. You just think you're so funny. You're always super observant on the bus, especially the free ride section where at least one person gets on the bus and starts yelling at someone or something.<br />

Auntie Toni took you there and you yelled at her constantly to keep giving you more food...then ice cream. Yes, it was your first dose of sugar and, after that rough night, it might be your last. Sugar makes you crazy. Loco.<br />

Your favorite thing to do right now is make a kissing noise. You have conversations all day long with your dad. You just love love love your daddy. And you've also started pooping in a quiet place, then crawling over to your dad get a diaper change. Apparently, you think this place is a full service venue.<br />

You look up to see if we're paying attention to you looking at yourself. And, if we aren't, you'll make a noise that sounds like "Are you guys seeing this cuteness?" But yelling.<br />

When surfing the internet, my pages will just disconnect for a bit (sometimes much longer) and then come back (sometimes not come back). I haven't had fresh juice since Austin. Whole Foods in Washington decided to be anti-juice and smoothie bar. My body is thanking me for grabbing the fruit and veggies...and leaving the alcohol behind (although some wine would be nice). Yes, you heard that right -- left the alcohol behind. In my mind, this would be like banana bread (cake-like) just with blueberries. So wrong. It wasn't very sweet. Nothing a nice hot bowl of chili can't cure. It's funny reading Facebook and seeing everyone whine about being snowed in. I, on the other hand, have loved spending time as a full family. It's not often we're together for days at a time, all day long. We've built forts, watched old VHS tapes and read so many books. Maddi is fascinated with books. I love it. I didn't like reading until my twenties We used to use our children's books at pretend ice skates on our linoleum kitchen floor. Yes, my siblings and I have great imaginations. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Pretty sure people heard Snowmageddon and decided to shut it down, regardless of the actual outcome. Alas, I do love me a snow day. It is technically still snowing, so who knows.
