The final round of the ATBA-UK International Series is being held at Hales Superbole Mountainboard Centre on Saturday 28th August and Sunday 2th August. And, after the freestyle on Sunday will be the prize-giving for the Season BX and FS and the Overall.

With Round 2 of the International Series less than two weeks away, this month’s Newsletter is coming to you early to make sure you have all the info you’ll need to have a great time whether you’re competing or watching.

International Series 2010 – Round 2

Round 2 is being held at IRONSIDES Court Farm Mountainboard Centre, Tillington, Hereford, HR4 8LG , on 29th and 30th May.

Raph, Lorna and Rachel took over Court Farm a few months ago and they’ve been hard at work making improvements to the centre and changing the Boarder X track. It should make for some interesting racing!

Camping at Ironsides will be split with riders camping at the Centre and family camping on the farm.

The International Series Poster can be downloaded, printed and used to promote the biggest and best competitive mountainboard series in the world!

If you’d like to volunteer to help at Round 2, either to help with setting up or as a Race Marshal, please ask at the ATBA tent.

With Round 1 of the International Series just around the corner, this month’s Newsletter is coming to you early to make sure you have all the info you’ll need to have a great time whether you’re competing or watching.

International Series 2010

Round 1 is being held at The Edge Mounatinboard Centre, Much Wenlock, Shropshire, TF13 6PP, on the 1st and 2nd May. If you’re not sure where The Edge here’s a Map.

As you may know, some changes have been made to how the competitions will be run this year. To start with, if you’re a Pro rider you’ll be in the PRO Class competing against the best, and you don’t have to qualify into it, if you think you’re good enough, go for it. The AM Class has four categories, Juniors (15 and under), Seniors (16 to 29), Masters (30+) and Ladies.

The Entry Form can be downloaded, completed and brought with you to The Edge, but remember Registration for the Boarder X Competition closes Friday night, and after that you won’t be able to get the discount for registering for the whole season. Registration for the Freestyle closes Saturday.

The International Series Poster can be downloaded, printed and used to promote the biggest and best competitive mountainboard series in the world!

If you’d like to volunteer to help at The Edge, either to help with setting up or as a Race Marshal, please ask at the ATBA tent.

Downhill Championship

Due to issues over the land ownership and access permission the UK Downhill Championship and the British leg of the European Downhill Tour has been cancelled. We know a lot of you were really looking forward to this comp and we’ll do our best to make it happen next year.

Team Challenge

With  the Official ‘Team Challenge’ Partner

The ATBA-UK Team Challenge 2010, in association with Out To Grass Mountainboard Centre, is a season-long competition to find the best competitive mountainboard team in the country.

We’ve made it even easier to enter a team this year, and it’s FREE!

Teams can have between three and ten riders from any category. Just nominate up to five riders to score points for your team before close of registration at each competition, or nominate them at the start of the season and keep the same riders the way through, and make sure all your team riders are wearing the same shirts or have something on them so we know what team they’re in, and we’ll take the points of the top scoring three riders and add them to your Team Score.

The winning team will not only hold the title of ‘Team Challenge Champions 2010’, and take home a special trophy, they’ll also get to take part in the ‘Three Counties Tour’, which will include a weeks free camping at Out To Grass and trips out to mountainboarding locations across Worcestershire, Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire.

• X-Sports Challenge – 2 min film about any sport.

Downhill Championship

Fancy a challenge? The guys at SurfingDirt certainly do. They’ve ridden the DH course at Cheddar and loved it. Let’s face it, everyone loves downhill.

Team Challenge

We want more team entering the comps this year, so whether there are three of you or ten of you, whether you ride for a sponsor or with your university club, whether you are all Under 14’s or from different categories, you’ll want to be competing in the Team Challenge.

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

No more one-man timed descents for qualifying in BoarderX comps, oh no,  that’s for Downhill. It’s all about qualifying races this year. Now everyone gets to race!

For freestyle, you’ll be doing all your jumps in your category so you don’t get cold and bored waiting ages for your turn. And you’ll have better judging going on.
