I’m currently a volunteer and assigned as the Personnel and Records Consultant at the boy scouting organization in our school. Our appointment papers are being prepared to be signed.
We will be having our Membership Camping this weekend. I’m working on a the design for the activity card. I’m kindda making it simple coz you know printing it with too much colors might be costly knowing that money these days in high school life must be spent wisely.
The activity card above is still subject for approval. I do not own the image used in this design and would like to recognize its source from phiscout.org.

No one seems to noticed that it was my day except for my father who greeted me before I went to work. An ordinary day in the office while taking calls and no one seems to care. Hours after, though I’m not planning to go out early, Daryl and Kit invited me to a drink. We even invited our TL to go with us but he will just follow, he said.

Later, an afternoon from a drinking session, I went to Cebu City Sports Complex to witness the attempt on the Guinness World Record for World’s Largest Dance Class. I also visited the scout office where I saw my alumni friends, too. And still, no one cares.
They invited me to a drinking session. But I refused to go by doing so my ninja moves ( through my sudden disappearance act and my leave-me-alone spells)!
I went home exhausted! My phone beeping with messages. “Inom Ta”! A few groups from my circle of friends were inviting me for a night out but I went none of them!
Early morning came. I went to open my social network sites, Facebook and Friendster and I got messages greeting me a Happy Birthday on the twenty-eighth.

]]>There had been several things I went through before I’m back here. Of course, I won’t deny the ‘emo’ within me.
I went to work from scratch and still struggling. I got lots of things I want to do and are still left in my mind. I’m looking for an outlet to be productive everyday, though I seemed to got one from high school but not that very committed though.
It seems that still everyday of my life is still under construction, seems always starting from the very beginning. I hope to have it started gracefully and maintained.

Yes, to round it off.. It’s been like one month and half that I took a ‘vacation’ (as I have it tagged). I went to Bohol and went back to Cebu and stayed longer days here. And so, I felt how bad it feels having no work – no money and just bored at home sitting in front of my monitor. Well, aside from these, one thing happen to me good is to gain back my health (I think). I’ve been feeling bad during the months that I’m soon to get out from the company. I felt I’m stout, I can’t breath correctly, often headaches and many more. But I think, I’m very much okay now and I’m up for a new challenge at work.
I know and I am aware that getting a new job will lead me back to scratch. Well, I think that’s okay for me as long as I would still be happy of what I would do, new environment, and I will be compensated with whatever I may be able to contribute for the betterment of our service.
Since I am in doubt of what I feel for tomorrow’s first day at work. I’ve thought of what could be better ideas to have and to prepare of.
Requirements, Documents and the like
I thought of checking things that might still be asked from me. Documents like Certificate of Employment, ITR and others, must be prepared. Bringing them on the first day at work is a better idea most specially, first day of works includes orientations and discussions from your HR, Payroll staffs and your boss, too.
Name Names
The sweetest sound to one’s ear is the sound of his own name (unless you don’t like your name). As I have it observed, in the few days of work, we must be keen to remember people by their name. Importantly, when we talked to them, we should call them by their name and that will help us to easily remember them. Asking their name is much better and polite if we don’t know than calling them with wrong names.
Listen, Listen, and just Listen
Good listeners are always known to be a good conversationalists. In my opinion, I would rather listen for instructions on the first few days at work and list down my questions for awhile until I get the right time. But when is the right time? For me, the right time comes a few days from the first day at work, when all seems to remember a few names and his trainer. Third to Fifth day is a better idea to ask questions (don’t wait for a month!).
Who’s with Who?
Lunch breaks, 15-min breaks and even smoke breaks are ways to identify who’s with who. Let’s accept the fact that everyone is different. We may gathered together but most often people bond to whom they are mostly alike. As they’ve said, “Flock the feathers of the same birds together” (just kidding, you should know the correct saying). Even so, we must respect everyone’s differences and interests and we must be professional.
These are a few things that I can think of right now. Have you had such feeling then? How did you thought of and prepared of what will happen the next day – first day at work?

]]>I tried this to other Mobile Network carries like Sun Cellular, Smart, TM, Talk N’ Text. But later found out the list of mobile network carriers supported in Philippines were only these three, Digital Telecommunications Phils Inc., Globe Telecom, and Smart Communications Inc.
It works perfectly to my Globe network for the past months. I also tried using the service even if I don’t have a load / topped up. This means that it doesn’t charges any SMS notification it sends from your Google Calendar to your mobile phone.
This is a good way to organize your schedule. It sends you the SMS notification as to whenever the time you want to receive it to remind you.
