Again? Yes, yes. I know. Sometimes this is the problem with us designers, that is we are never satisfied about what we did no matter how much time we put into it. Having a website of your own is an ever-on-going project. Every week there is something new on the web. Resulting in a wide range of possibilities where you can improve websites in many different ways. For instance, six months before I saw only a few Twitter Wordpress plugins available. Now, here is a lists of what you can get.  In order to give it my best I spend time experimenting and exploring with different things. It is just about time that I feel this website needs some improvement.

So, what will be in the new version?

The reason to have this change is mainly because I do not want my website to be “just another Wordpress blog”. The reason became even more understandable when I found that writing is not my strongest point. Not to mention finding the time to write. So there came the idea of separating the main site into two parts, in other words, it is going to be a Wordpress driven website with a blog in it. I am also working on a solution to creating a multi-language blog.

Apart from that, the design is what I want to remain similar. Especially when some part of my current blog has been known to some people. (Thanks to the design community for that!). You will still see a brand new look, but with a better sitemap. That is it!

Since I am starting my new job now. I try to do the redesign bits by bits. So, stay tuned!

The reason is simple. I really want keep a music diary.

I have been doing it since March this year. I didn’t spend too long on the design and I like this design, this is my first experiment with dynamic content with the help of Jquery. It works wonderfully and is very appealing. But what took me so long was that there is a minor problem with Opera users which is forcing me to give up using this layout.

Since I have made this specifically to fit embed videos. The problem is that I am using the overflow:hidden CSS property here. In the Opera browser  overflow:hidden does not apply to the <object> HTML tag. In other words, <object> will not be hidden which cause something like this:

And I am trying to find a way out here.

During the past few days I was on a short trip to Prague (This is also the reason I am not publishing an April wallpaper, sorry, but I just did not have the time. There will certainly be no calender wallpaper in May but will sure be back in June. Be sure to subscribe to my blog’s feed so you will not miss anything! I might as well post a wallpaper in the middle of a month.) It was a place I wanted to go but never thought I would have a chance to. I just want to post a few photos I took there.

First of all, Prague is in Czech Republic, where people speak Czech, a highly complex West Slavic language. It was tough finding ourselves around due to its language. At first I thought every word was unreadable.

Nevertheless, on the first night we went to a Czech restaurant where they offer traditional Czech cuisine. Czech cuisine is heavily meat-based. Pork, beef and chicken are popular. Mostly served with dumplings (”Knedlíky” in Czech), which are some bread or potato based dumplings. I did not like the dumplings and avoided eating them after my first try. However, I enjoyed the sauerkraut, a sourly cabbage side dish. Apart from this, everything was very salty (for me). I prefer going to an Italian restaurant in Czech.

It is a nice city to walk, everything is very close. We spent a whole day walking up to the castle and when we reached the top, we were amazed by the view. It was just incredible.

I did not have a proper camera with me. So all I used were my two phone cameras. Quite sad in a way but I tried my best to make the most of it.

Had a look at their catalog and found out there were a lot to choose from. Different sizes, number of pages..etc. Finally I bought the pocket size sketchbook with a hardboard bound cover. It arrived from the post today.

I now realize why it is so good. By looking at its acid-free paper.  It makes me want to draw!
