We moved to our new offices located at 120 North LaSalle after Memorial Day. We have a nice view of City Hall and the green roof promoted by Mayor Richard Daley. Searching for Alpha: Managing Risk and Return

On June 24 and 25, 2010 the Fred Arditti Center for Risk Management of DePaul University, the Chicago Actuarial Association, the Midwestern Actuarial Forum and PRMIA Chicago will sponsor a one-and-a-half-day conference in Chicago on finding alpha and managing investment risks and returns. The conference will bring together industry professionals, regulators and academic researchers to explore the search for alpha, alpha/beta separation, the identification of fake and genuine alpha, the compensation of investment managers, and regulatory issues. The first half day of the conference on the afternoon of June 24 will comprise presentations oriented towards practitioners and the following day, June 25, will comprise research sessions where researchers from industry and academia will present papers. To foster debate, practitioners and researchers are inv! ited and encouraged to attend on both days.

Call for Papers for Research Sessions. The organizers invite applicants to submit their papers for consideration for the research sessions. Submitted papers should not have been previously published or accepted for publication.
Papers should be submitted to the program committee before Monday, May 24th. The program committee will begin notifying applicants on or before June 1st.
Authors of accepted papers will be responsible for paying their own expenses for travel and accommodations.
