This summer I've been sharing an apartment with the love of my life, Jessica, and our 2 cats (Fajita & Salsa). While my life pretty much revolves around them now, I've included some recent pictures below. My time off has been filled with bike rides at night, late trips to Coldstone, Seinfeld reruns, slicing open avocados, and so much more. I'm gearing up for another tour across America, but when I return home we'll be moving into our very first house. It's exciting times, and filled with a lot of new adventures. I must say, I never imagined life could become this great.

10 Years ago I joined a project (Silverstein) that was just beginning. I was 16 at the time and still getting familiar with the idea of playing drums in a band. 4 albums, 1200+ shows, 26 countries traveled, and a whole lot of memories later, we're celebrating this monumental anniversary. It's been an exciting way to grow up and I'm looking forward to where it will continue to take me in this life.

"Silverstein to perform entire 4-album catalog over 4 exclusive nights at the legendary El Mocambo in Toronto, Canada - March 18, 19, 20, 21. Tickets are on-sale now via ticketweb.ca for only $15/show, or $50 for a 4-night pass (limited quantity). Each night will be a headlining set of a specific album from start to finish, complete with a special encore that spans their entire discography and consisting of fan favorites, rare songs + some crowd requests!"

My personal top 20 albums of the Decade

I started this decade at the age of 16 and am leaving it at 26. In these 10 years I grew up with a lot of different music as my tastes evolved. Looking at back, it was fun to see all of the records I bought and what really stood out over all of these years. Some of these albums I loved right away, while others have proven themselves to me over time.

Mew are one of my favorite bands of all time. While I love every single record they've put out, Frengers was the first one I heard (back in 2005) and has stuck with me every since. The opening track immediately hit me with everything I love about music. This album is flawless and definitely the best of the last 10 years.

Hands down, Dirty Projectors blew me away with their latest album and their incredibly polished live show. Lonesome Crowded Canada

Hello there. Taking the time to hit some keys. Calgary for the day. Canada, coast-to-coast (sorta, sorry vancouver), there is a fly living on our bus who I don't mind, and we have these star trek doors that are pretty cool. It's a comfortable place to be touring, all so familiar. We have our friend Mark photo-documenting the whole thing on his blog. I've been wrestling a head cold which is probably in response to the climate change. Fall is on the horizon and I just want to be running from it. I don't update this blog as much as I'd like too. Probably because I'm also tweeting way too much. It's good to be on the road, I enjoy playing more than most things. I'm looking forward to visiting Newfoundland for the first time at the end of this tour. It's going to be a great way to end this expedition across the homeland. Time off afterwards for who knows what. Everything's moving way too fast and I'm working on catching up. Ready to rock.

26, yikes. Is that why I really enjoy TV dramas now? After a short break at home, it's back on the road again this fall. Cross-Canada, Short run in the U.S. of A and tour across Europe from September thru December. It's going to be a crazy-fun fall as I watch the leaves change colors and the snow start to accumulate. Don't worry winter, I'm ready for you though.. my gloves/scarves are ready to go. Tour dates and more - here.

I've been extra busy these days since starting a management company [Split the Atom Inc. in full effect for real] to work with some very talented upcoming bands (I Am Committing A Sin, Arietta, Brendan Rivera, Ulysses and the Siren, Texas with a Dollar Sign). It's one of my many side-endeavors but is something I plan on focusing a lot time with. You can learn more about that over at www.splittheatom.ca - check back for updates as we're still evolving.

Finally made it up to Alaska for the first time to play a show (which turned into 2 shows, thanks to the wonderful people up there who made it all come true). Back from Europe for a little time off while preparing for the summer. I'll be crossing all over North America on a scattered bunch of tour dates as seen below. Life is great and finally settling down from the busy start to the year.

Oh, and go check out I AM COMMITTING A SIN - they just released a 6-song EP, "Grow Past Their Promises" this week through Verona Records in Canada. They're great and you might just like them.

Western World and Traveling

Where has all the time gone? Back on tour in the USofA again, 6 weeks and a whole lot of shows. We're doing the headline thing, with some great bands (Norma Jean, Blessthefall, Before Their Eyes). There's a whole lot going on these and I'm busier than ever. However, LIFE is good. I'm really excited about new album - I can honestly stand behind it and say I'm proud of what we created. It was a lot of hard work, and we poured everything we had into it. Now it's just about to come out into the world and reach the ear of the public. (I posted a bunch of info regarding the release below, along with tour dates, etc. - go have a read to see all what we're doing)

The tour last month was absolutely incredible. I enjoyed South America way more than I ever expected and now I want to visit more cities and countries all over down there. We're so lucky to be able to tour all of those foreign places and actually have people come out to the shows. Chile was the most surprising, since we had no idea how supportive the fans were down there. I posted a bunch of pictures in a blog that I created to document the trip.

South America / Hawaii / Australia

7 Countries, 13 Flights, 24 days, 15 shows.

A month from today I will be boarding a plane bound for Columbia from Toronto. This will be the first time visiting South America, and will be a part of a full tour that will also hit Hawaii (for the first time) and Australia (for the 4th time!). It is going to be the most consecutive flying I have ever done since none of the shows are driving distance - nor would I trust driving in South America and everywhere else is on a different continent.

Being at home for the Holidays was great, despite all of the terrible snow storms. It was the most relaxing time I've had all year long, so that was well overdue. Now I'm just looking forward to warmer weather on the the other side of these flights. Tour dates are below:

Back in the studio again, working on the new album. It feels like just the other day we were out in California recording the last one. The whole process is always exhausting but the outcome makes it totally worth the effort. This time is no different, but I feel like it's off to a better start than ever before. Our producer rules and I am excited about all of the new songs. The time at home has already flown by and now I need to start preparing for the Holidays. Right now I'm just focusing on recording and everything else will come second. Off to the Broken Social Scene show tomorrow night, stoked about that.

This year our whole band decided to dress up as our favorite cartoon band, "Dethklok" (from Adult Swim's Metalocalypse). The drummer is known as "Pickles" and was the character for my costume.
