The red carpet at The Grammys is all about sexy and interesting dresses that make a statement. I love when artists push the limits just enough to look edgy, but not too theatrical. Hear that, Nicki Minaj? She looked absolutely ridiculous last night and her performance was ridiculous. Wasn’t her ‘exorcism’ just another way of coping Lady Gaga’s ‘birth’ last year? Eye roll.

But I digress…

Rihanna always manages to know how to push boundaries while still remaining true to her own individual style. In my opinion, she was the best dressed of the night. She looked absolutely amazing in her black custom Giorgio Armani dress with the super revealing back. I love the blonde hair, I love the make-up, I love the entire look that she is going for. She looks the best she has looked in a long time. Not only that, but her performance was fantastic. When compared with the likes of Katy Perry, it was the definite winner.

However, night belonged to Adele who was also one of my top best dressed women. She looked stunning in her sparkly black Giorgio Armani dress and a flawless red lip. She deserved every single award that she received last night. It’s refreshing to see someone who has received so much critical success without using autotune to sell records. She is raw and honest and you can’t even begin to compete with that voice!

I also loved Taylor Swift’s Zuhair Murad dress. I bet the bead work  was unbelievable in person. I loved the dramatic neckline and I thought it was a different look for her. I wish that her hair had been pulled back in a sleek ponytail with bangs just to give the whole look a little more edge. Anyone else catch Taylor’s face when she lost that last big award to Adele? She REALLY wanted it.

David Beckham can create a scene all on his own, but add his adorable daughter, Harper to the mix and you just melt! David was spotted in NYC this weekend taking Harper out to a special brunch at Balthazar. Mom Victoria was busy with all of the fashion week festivities for her clothing line. How sweet is it that these two were at brunch by themselves? I love it.

Tom Ford in True Coral

Nothing beats the overall aesthetic of a Tom Ford lipstick. The packaging is to die for and the texture of the lipstick is amazing. It goes on smoothly, doesn’t flake, and stays put for hours. True Coral was my favorite coral color for spring last year. I am just as excited to wear it this year as I was last year! The great thing about wearing coral lipstick is that you can wear it during the day without feeling too done. I never wear red lips in the day, but I love a bright pink or coral lip. It’s fun and great for when the weather starts to heat up!

Another Tom Ford favorite for everyday wear is Pink Dusk. It is the perfect mix of soft pink and nude. I don’t know how he does it, but this color is flawless! It will become your new obsession for that neutral lipstick look.

Chanel LipStick in Perle

Chanel Glossimer in Blizzard

I have a real fondness for Chanel lip color. My absolute must-have are the Glossimers. I have so many different colors and I can never choose a favorite. I have been wearing Blizzard since high school and it is still my favorite pinky nude gloss. It has a lot more shimmer in it than a lipstick so I don’t always want to go for that look. I recently bought Perle and love it. It has a great pigmentation and actually shows up more like a soft pinky nude with a hint of peach. Can you tell I have a theme here?

Super Orgasm by Nars

When the Spring/Summer season hits, I always pull out Super Orgasm by Nars! This color is amazing! It’s the perfect pinky peach shade that compliments a great tan and the Orgasm blush. If I had to choose a second favorite brand of lipgloss, Nars would definitely be the one (Dior is up there too!). I am also a huge fan of their blush and eyeshadow. They have a great selection of colors for people who really like make-up and experimenting with dramatic looks. The Multiple sticks are also amazing.

Revlon Lipgloss in Bronze Shimmer

I just recently picked up this lip gloss from Revlon. It has a great texture and the bronze color is perfect for the warmer months! I love to do a bronze-y copper eye with a bronze lip to set off a great tan. Revlon has really come a long way with their products. These lip glosses are almost as good as a Chanel Glossimer at a fraction of the price!

Dior Diorific Lipstick in Dolce Vita Red

I have not tried this color yet, but I have been eyeing it since I saw Charlize Theron wearing it at an event (she is the face of Dior). It looks like such an amazing poppy red color-perfect for this season. A bright lip lights up your whole face. If you have been scared of this trend in the past, now is the time to embrace it! You will love it, I promise!

I am counting down the days until I can wear Chanel’s newest colors: May and June. May is the perfect Barbie bubble gum pink and it makes me want spring to be here NOW! June is a soft peach that will look amazing with a spring tan.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Intense Shadow in Gold #5

I am officially in love with Giorgio Armani’s Eyes To Kill eyeshadows. They are amazing! The shadow is neither a cream nor a powder so it is extremely lightweight. They provide 24-hour color wear, are crease proof, waterproof and sweat-proof. Does it get any better than that? Gold #5 is a great coppery gold that is subtle enough for everyday, but also dramatic enough to create the perfect bronze smokey eye for night. Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation is one foundation that I have heard amazing things about- that is on my must try list!

Chanel Long Wearing Eyeshadow in Illusoire

Chanel came out with these amazing eyeshadows that have the silkiest, creamiest consistency. They go on so well and it feels like you have nothing on your eyes! I own several but my favorite is Illusoire. I love the grayish purple color for everyday wear. There is a shimmer to it, but it goes on looking pretty.

Too Faced Eyeshadow In Naked Eye

I received this palette from a friend and I use it all the time! Not only does it have several different colors of eyeshadow to create many looks, but it also has cards to tell you how to do them! The colors are a great range of basic from taupe to soft pink to darker gray. You can even use the darker gray and the black as liner. Like I said, it has everything!

Shiseido Eyelash Curler

In my opinion there is only one eyelash curler-Shiseido! No other eyelash curler that I have ever used has compared to this one. It is perfection. I have to curl my eyelashes everyday because I am obsessed with having defined lashes. I don’t understand people who don’t use these! To me, it is an essential part of your make-up routine. Also, curled eyelashes make your eyes appear bigger and more awake. Who doesn’t need that?

Givenchy Magic Khol Eyeliner

I’m an eyeliner freak. There are several different kinds that I love and I am always experimenting. What I love about eyeliner is that you can get a great one at the drugstore. Yes, there are fantastic expensive ones, but you can always save money on this and achieve the same look. The one that I have been using lately is Givenchy’s Magic Khol eyeliner. It creates the perfect black line and has a rich texture. I don’t like the dry eye pencils. I also have started applying dark shadow with a brush as eyeliner for a more subtle look. Eyeliner is so much fun because you can completely change your look by using charcoal, navy, or even aqua.

Dior Maximizer Lash Conditioning Primer

I have been using this eyelash primer before applying mascara every day. It is AMAZING! I love that it has two functions: it acts like a primer for your mascara so that it stays on longer and has a lash conditioner to make your lashes longer over time. I can definitely tell a difference in my lashes. It is great for someone who doesn’t want to use Latisse. Since you apply it before you put on mascara, it couldn’t be easier to remember!

DiorShow Mascara

My absolute favorite mascara is DiorShow. I love mascara wands that have full brushes even though I have tried several with smaller brushes that separate your lashes more. I can’t get enough of this!

Because I’m in dire need of a major shopping spree, I have been focusing all of my attention on make-up and beauty products. There are so many amazing products that I am dying to try, but there are not enough hours in the day! In my perfect world, I would use a completely different make-up palette every single day!

Here are some make-up products that I am currently obsessed with! Keep in mind there are tons of other make-up products that I love, but I tried to narrow it down to the things that I wear the most.

Face

Primer

I wish that I had the patience to use primer everyday, but I don’t! I absolutely love it when I use it because it creates the perfect smooth canvas for putting on your make-up. Laura Mercier’s Radiance Primer is a fantastic one! It really helps your make-up adhere to your skin and create that flawless look.

Under Eye Brightener/ Highlighter

I can’t say enough about YSL Touche Eclat. Everyone who uses it becomes obsessed. It is the best under eye brightener/highlighter that I have found. The consistency is perfect and it flatters everyone. I also just bought Loreal’s new Magic Lumi highlighter and it is a great, less expensive option.

Under Eye Concealer

Laura Mercier’s Secret Concealer is the best at providing the coverage against dark circles. I wear this every single day and I can’t get enough! There are a great range of colors so every skin tone can find its perfect match!

Foundation

I actually discovered this foundation (Revlon ColorStay) when I was traveling and forgot to pack my Bobbi Brown foundation stick. I absolutely fell in love with it. I was surprised because I usually only use more expensive brands on my face and this one was just as good as any of those! It has a medium coverage which is perfect for someone like me who hates the mineral make-up look. I buy the Combination/Oily Skin version and I don’t feel near as oily as I used to by the end of the day even with no powder on.  It is fabulous because you can apply it as sheer or as heavy as you need. LOVE it. I also love Make-Up Forever’s HD foundation for when I want a more nighttime look. It creates a nice, flawless finish and feels light on the skin.

Bronzer

I have used tons of bronzers and I always come back to this one: Benefit’s Hoola Bronzer. You can’t beat the color- the perfect natural tan. It works year round. It’s the best. I also love Guerlain for those months when I’m really tan (which is rare these days!) Bronzer is such an essential part of a make-up routine-just a little sweep across the forehead, chin, and cheeks and you are good to go!

Blush

Countless beauty magazines have written about their love for Nars Orgasm Blush. That’s because it achieves that perfect healthy flush- not too pink, not too peach with just the right amount of shimmer. I could not live without this! It is my everyday blush and although I use other blush occasionally, this one will always be my staple.

I was given this Chanel Horizon de Chanel Blush by a friend and I have to say that it is amazing! Not only can you use it as a blush, but you can also use it as an allover highlighter. It has the perfect color combination of  rose, coral and peach and you can choose the way you want to wear it. You can wear them together or wear them separately. I personally love them all swirled together!

Powder

Hands down, Make Up Forever’s MicroFinishing Powder is the best on the market. It is the perfect lightweight powder to ‘set’ your make-up. It makes your skin look flawless and what could be better than that? A little bit goes a long way, so you can rest assured that it will last you for awhile. I don’t wear this everyday, but I love it when I have something special going on or a fun nighttime event.

Concealer

I have been using DiorSkin Sculpting Concealer for years now. I use it to cover up any blemishes or imperfections. I love that it has a radiance instead of being so matte. It also sculpts the skin which is a great added bonus! The only downside is that my color is always sold out when I need it! There are three shades and most people wear the medium color like myself. It is still worth it!

Let’s face it, this season of The Bachelor is a snorefest. Besides Prince Lorenzo, Ben is one of the most boring Bachelors who has graced our TV screens since the show’s inception. Is that keeping me from watching? Oh hell no! I will always watch this show because it is just so entertaining to me. Do I watch it with the naive attitude that two of these people are going to create a lasting union? No…BUT I will say that sometimes I do hope that it lasts! I love Ashley Hebert and J.P together. They seem to be genuinely happy and she totally lucked out by not choosing Ben!

The only drama keeping me involved this season is the tension between Courtney and the other girls. Everyone loves to hate this girl because she is playing the game and doesn’t care about making friends. What I will never understand is why the girls feel like they need to tell Ben that Courtney is not the right girl for him. Listen up ladies, Ben is not thinking with his brain on this one! All he hears when they talk are insecure girls that seem to have nothing else to talk about but Courtney. That’s just the way it goes.

Apparently, next week a couple of girls approach Ben to warn him about Courtney. I am guessing that Ben doesn’t really pay much attention. Ben has already shown that he is completely lusting after Courtney. It was so apparent when he was talking to Jamie and couldn’t keep his eyes off of Courtney hanging by the pool. That girl knows what she is doing and I have to give her props for that. This is a TV show and she is a pro at getting people to talk about her. Case in point: this week’s US Weekly. Courtney is the cover girl! That is pretty huge for just being a contestant on a reality show before the final outcome has been revealed.

In other Bachelor news, Emily Maynard is starting to film segments for her season of The Bachelorette? She was spotted looking at make-up and getting love advice from previous Bachelorettes, Ali and Ashley. Obviously, the cameras were around to capture their get together. Ali has always bugged me…she was so smug giving advice to everyone when she chose Roberto, but by the looks of it that relationship didn’t work out so well. I don’t think any contestant on this show should be giving any love advice unless they actually make it down the aisle.

I personally can’t wait for Emily’s season. I think the producers were smart to choose her over one of the girls on Ben’s season!

Gianduja Souffle Recipe (Giada De Laurentiis)

Ingredients

• 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 1 tablespoon sugar, plus 1/4 cup
• 1 tablespoon hazelnut liqueur (recommended: Frangelico)
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 3 ounces milk chocolate, chopped, plus 6 ounces chopped
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 cup milk
• Pinch salt
• 4 eggs, separated
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

There is something about Valentine’s Day that makes me think of sweets. And no, I am not talking about Russell Stover’s candy in a box…I want the good stuff! On The Today Show this morning, Giada De Laurentiis made this delicious chocolate soufflé with a hint of hazelnut. I can’t wait to try this one out! Whether you need a great dessert recipe for Valentine’s Day or just want to try something new, this one looks like a winner!

My girl, Beyonce always knows how to work it. Of course, the first two times that she made an appearance post-pregnancy are going to be flawless! You know she took the time to make sure these looks were perfection. I’m talking scheduled stylist appointments, multiple fittings, and a search for the perfect accessories. What could be better than her new enormous blue sapphire push present? Jay-Z certainly knows how to give gifts! And yes, of course, I love the cheesiness factor. Blue sapphires for baby, Blue. You know you are obsessed.

I loved Beyonce in her tight red Alice Temperley dress, Louboutins, and gold jewelry. So many women want to wear a sack post-pregnancy so I appreciated that she was showing off her new shape. Of course, the blue manicure is fierce and I love that she mixed it up with the red dress.

The next night Beyonce sparkled in a black sequined cocktail dress by Monique Lhuillier. She looked gorgeous! And notice that she is rocking that blue sapphire ring again!

The rumor is that the ring was designed by Lorraine Schwartz, but that has not been confirmed yet.

Now the only question is…when are we going to see Blue Ivy?

First of all, let me just say how stunning these Mario Testino shots are of Taylor Swift. I love them! Taylor graces the cover of February’s Vogue and talks all about her next album and her most recent heartbreak.

On her love life:

“The only way that I can feel better about myself—pull myself out of that awful pain of losing someone – is writing songs about it to get some sort of clarity.’

‘I got nothing going on. I just don’t really feel like dating,’ she says in the interview, which appeared to have taken place late last year.

‘I really have this great life right now, and I’m not sad and I’m not crying this Christmas, so I am really stoked about that. I am not gonna go into it. It’s a sad story.’

‘I think I am smart unless I am really, really in love, and then I am ridiculously stupid,’ she tells Vogue.

Who is the mystery guy that broke Taylor’s heart? I am dying to know! Could it be Garrett Hedlund who she was photographed with several times after her split from Jake Gyllenhaal? Garrett is now dating Kirsten Dunst so they are obviously not together still. Or is she referring to Jake? I am sure this will come out at some point during the promotion of her next album. I can’t wait!
