Speed of Loading

Attack of the Dawn is a blog which give everyone informations as long as they have internet. People would love to have a faster blog to load, and we found our loading speed for Pingdom! Our loading time is 4.8 seconds.

Dear visitors,
I am really happy that you guys still support us even when we haven't got enough time to be posting and I am really sorry about that. So now, finally I have been doing some work not being lazy ^.^ I have created my own livestream! Which is absolutely brilliant! So below will be my livestream encoded, and just to say you guys are really lucky because the version of the livestream below is the most updated and the highest quality, I have spent about 2 days encoding it to make it do its best. How to Jailbreak your iDevice

What is Jailbreak?

Jailbreak is basically a tool which makes your ipod touch, iphone and ipad so much cooler but it is sometimes not good but mostly, it is amazing... Jailbreaking is absolutely FREE but sometimes it cost to buy tools off cydia. Below will be a guide of how to jailbreak your ipod touch and many other apple products the easy way, but this only applies to ios 4.3.5, if you wanna jailbreak other then that ios, subscibe to Attack of the Dawn now and enter your email address and your ios version to the comment below and I will send you the guide for Free on your ios version

If you have jailbroken your device but your device get stuck on the apple logo when trying to reboot, scroll down to the end of this post and you will find the solution

Guide to jailbreaking

Files to download before doing the jailbreaking process:

Download iOS 4.3.5 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod touch and iPad
Download iOS 4.3.4 for iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod touch
Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows
Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Mac
Download iTunes 10.4 for Windows & Mac

Step 1: Download iOS 4.3.5 and iOS 4.3.4 (required by this version of Redsn0w) firmware file for your device from the links given at the end.

Step 2: Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b4 for Windows or Mac. Also make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes, which is version 10.4.

Step 3: Now start Redsn0w, browse for the iOS 4.3.4 firmware file (NOT the 4.3.5) that you downloaded in Step 1 and point it towards Redsn0w. Refer to the screenshots below:

Step 4: Once Redsn0w is done recognizing the firmware file, click Next and there you’ll be taken to a new window. Simply check the “Install Cydia” box as shown below and leave other options as it is for now. Once done, click Next.

Step 5: On this screen, Redsn0w will instruct you to power down your device and plug it in to your computer. Follow the onscreen instructions and then click Next to continue.

Step 6: On this screen you will have to put your device in DFU mode with a combination of the Power button and the Home button for a certain amount of time, simply follow the onscreen instructions on how to do so. The combination is usually like this:

Hold down Power button for 5 seconds.
Now without releasing the Power button, hold down the Home button simultaneously with the Power button for 10 seconds.
Let go of the Power button but keep on holding the Home button for another 15 seconds.

If you performed the above mentioned steps correctly, then your device should be in DFU mode.

Step 7: Redsn0w will now jailbreak your device, don’t do anything weird at this point, just let Redsn0w finish. We would recommend that you don’t do anything with your PC or Mac at all during the process. Sitting idle and waiting for the process to end on its own is much advised.

Since this is a tethered jailbreak, therefore whenever your iOS device loses power, it will go into the dreaded Apple logo boot screen loop. To get out of that, simply start from Step 3 again and in Step 4, uncheck “Install Cydia” and instead check “Just boot tethered right now” option and hit “Next” with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch connected to your PC or Mac. And yes, you will have to do this every time when your device reboots or loses power.

That’s it! You should now have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch running iOS 4.3.5.

When you Turn off your iDevice, you get stuck on the apple logo when trying to turn on

Step 1: Link your iDevice to your computer

Step 2: Open the application Redsn0w (the one you used to jailbreak just now)

Step 3: Click on Browse and select your ipsw file you just downloaded to jailbreak, it will say identified if its correct.

Step 4: CLick next then if you direct you to a page which there are many options, tick "Just boot tethered right now" and nothing else, click next then make sure your iDevice is off, follow the instructions to get your iDevice into a DFU mode and all the things will run on your device the your done!

Hi, blogger is developed by Google and it is probably the most popular platform people use to blogging. Blogging can be fun or boring, but it all depends on you so below I will teach you how to find blogging very fun and interesting.

Templates Designing

Designing templates is probably most fun and you will absoulutely enjoy it as you uses Adobe Photoshop to build templates and so, thats what I used to design this template, it took me 3 days to build a template for the first time, but 1 day for one template after. SO you might as well try and design your template, if you haven't got enough money to buy the Photoshop, subscribe to our blog and comment with your email address and we will send you a Attack of the Dawn version of Photoshop and this is optimized for designing templates!!

Your blog getting better!

If you create a blog and register to Alexa Rank and check your ranking everyday, you will find it getting better and you will be more interested in blogging than before, Attack of the Dawn had been in the 98271 place in Alexa Rank for a year in 2010 but afterwards I need to study so the blog wasn't as active as before. Sorry about that!

Widgets

4 Great Places to Find And Download Portable Applications

The people who frequently change their computers or travel a lot want to have their data with them all the time. It is not always possible to take a laptop or a computer with them. This is where the concept of portable applications comes in. Portable applications are programs that do not depend on any system and do not need to be installed anywhere. They can be installed in a folder and that folder can be copied and taken anywhere without leaving any settings or data behind.

As a network administrator, I have to travel between different office locations and need to use many computers. So I need to have all my data available with me all the time. My strategy is to keep my data in my USB Flash Drive and also on a secure network location syncing everything whenever possible. This enables me to keep my personal email, documents, browsers, password managers along with their settings and data with me regardless of whether I am online or offline. There are some sources from where I like to get my portable apps from. I will share 4 of my most frequently used sources for downloading portable apps.

Note: The following portable applications are meant for the Windows OS.

1. Portablefreeware.com

Portablefreeware.com is my most favorite site for searching any kind of portable apps. It has a large collection of portable freeware programs. The programs are well categorized and I can find almost every kind of software that I want to have in my USB Flash drive. The good thing about this site is that it is very frequently updated with new and updated portable apps. The reviews of the apps are to the point and important information is clearly written like where does the program store its settings, system requirements etc.

2. Portableapps.com

Portableapps.com is yet another site to look for portable version of latest and popular applications. I like it because their release cycle of new applications is very quick. I get the new portable version of lately released application within a day or two. Portableapps.com is also known for its portable apps suite. They have a fantastic set of applications combined as a suite along with the application launcher. So if you install the suite on a USB Flash drive, you can get a Windows start menu like application launcher which can be used to launch programs installed on the USB Flash drive. The best feature of this suite is that it also contains a software updater. The installed portable apps will automatically be updated without losing any settings or data.

3. Liberkey.com

Liberkey.com has a suite of portable apps. Currently there are 293 applications which can be downloaded with a single click. The applications are from different categories including audio, video, graphics, Internet, games, security, education, system, etc. This pretty much sums up everything a normal person would need for his daily needs. Liberkey suite also features automatic online updates. So all the programs in the suite get updated automatically without losing any type of setting or data. If you don’t want the whole suite, applications can also be downloaded individually.

4. WinPenPack

WinPenPack is another suite of portable apps. It also contains the most popular applications for your pen drive. It differentiates itself from other portable app suites in that it has two types of suites available for download. WinPenPack Essentials contains only the most frequently used applications. This is especially handy for people who have space constraints. WinPenPack Full contains all the apps offered in the suite. Another good feature of WinPenPack is that you can build your own suite of portable apps with WinPenPack Personal. This can be handy for people who want to customize the suite to pinpoint their needs only.

These are the suites that I use frequently for my office needs. There are other suites that can also be used but I have not tried them yet. I am listing them here for your reference.

Lupo PenSuite

首次使用

第一次啟動 Foxit Reader 會詢問您是否要將 Foxit Reader 設為預設的 PDF 閱讀器。

設定軟體界面的語系

相信每個人的家中至少都會有一台數據機，透過網路線就可以讓每一台電腦上網，一台電腦接一條網路線、兩台電腦接兩台網路線，以此類推……當然也已經有大部分的朋友，家中除了有一台數據機之外，還接了一台無線基地台，透過無線訊號的發射來上網，這時候一台電腦、兩台電腦、三台電腦都不需要再接網路線那麼麻煩啦！

10 Great Windows 7 Keyboard Shortcuts

Many of you have probably been using Windows 7 for quite a while now. It’s really quite a solid operating system, with stability and functionality far exceeding anything Microsoft has offered before. You may, however, be unaware of one of the great productivity advantages that Windows offers you. That is keyboard integration, which is far more advanced than other platforms like Mac OSX. Windows is entirely functional without a mouse cursor, and indeed many features can be accessed much faster through the use of keyboard shortcuts. Hopefully the shortcuts below will be of use to some of you. I know I learnt a few new ones when researching this article!

1. Ctrl + Shift + Click – Open a Program as Administrator

With stricter security under Windows 7 comes the need to occasionally open programs as the Administrator user. Usually you need to right-click and then select “Run as Administrator”, but with this short-cut, you can avoid that step.

2. Shift + Right-Click on a Folder for a Command Prompt

This is very useful if you like using the command prompt. If you shift+right-click on a folder, a new option will appear to “Open command window here”. Clicking on that will open a command prompt at that location.

3. Windows-button + Number – Select Taskbar items

Pressing the windows-button and a number from 0-9 will select an item on the taskbar (0 is equivalent to 10). Potentially a fast way of switching between applications that you are using for keyboard input. For example, you could use it to switch focus between two open documents.

4. Ctrl + Shift + N – Create a New Folder in Explorer

This doesn’t really need much more of an explanation, basically as an alternative to clicking the menu item for a new folder.

5. Shift + Right-Click – Extends the Send-To Menu

If you right-click a file in explorer, there is a “Send to” option in the menu. Within that menu are a number of locations, which the file can be sent (copied) to. By using Shift+Right-click, this menu is expanded to include a number of other user locations.

6. Ctrl + Shift + Escape – Open Task Manager

Brings up the task manager, without the need to press Ctrl+Alt+Del first. Task manager is a useful Windows utility that, among other things, allows you to end unresponsive processes.

7. Windows-botton + Pause – Open System Properties

Opens the system properties window. Neat right? :)

8. Windows-button+B to Focus on System Tray

Focuses on the system tray, which then allows you to use the arrow keys to navigate it. Hit the Enter key on the little up arrow to expand it.

9. Shift+Click on Taskbar Item to Open Second Instance

If you want to open more than one copy of a program in your system tray, simply shift-click on the icon. This does not work for every application, only those which allow multiple instances. E.g. Internet browsers, explorer, Notepad, Wordpad.

10. Windows-button+Space to Show the Desktop

Essentially the same as clicking the little tab in the right hand corner of the taskbar, it will show the desktop by hiding active windows.

It used to be very easy to install custom themes in Gnome 2, but if you have upgraded to Gnome Shell, particularly in Ubuntu Oneiric, you will find that there are not much customization options available for you. While Gnome Shell supports theming, there doesn’t seem to be an option for you to switch to the theme you want. For those who are tired of the default look in your Gnome Shell, here is how you can easily install and switch to a custom theme.

Before we can switch theme, you need to have your custom themes ready. Places you can look for beautiful themes include Gnome-look and DeviantArt.
There are a few themes that you have to download, namely the Gnome Shell theme, GTK 3.x theme, icon theme and probably custom font (optional).
In case you are confused over the difference between the Gnome Shell theme and the GTK 3.x theme:

GTK 3.x theme – the main theme that governs the panel/window border, color, background etc
Gnome shell theme – the theme that governs the display in the Activity mode (when you click on the Activity button at the top left corner).

Installing themes

Once you have downloaded all the themes (Gnome Shell theme, GTK 3 theme, icon theme, and probably custom fonts), extract them to their respective location.

Extract Gnome shell theme and GTK 3 theme to ~/.themes
Extract icon theme to ~/.icons
Extract custom font to ~/.fonts

Note: ~/ is a shorthand for your home folder. So ~/.themes is referring to the /home/username/.themes folder.

Switching theme

There are many ways to change a theme in Gnome Shell, but the easiest way is via the third-party application Gnome Tweak Tool.
Install Gnome Tweak Tool (for Ubuntu Oneiric):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ricotz/testing
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme

Next, open the Gnome Tweak Tool (search for “Advanced Settings”). On the left pane, click “Shell Extensions”.
Enable the “User Themes Extension” option.

Next, click the Theme option. Here, you can select your favourite Gnome Shell theme, GTK 3 theme and Icon theme (for a consistent look, keep the Window theme the same as the GTK+ theme).

Lastly, go to the Fonts option and change the default font to your custom font.

越來越多人開始透過免費空間來分享或傳送檔案，雖然選項很多，但可能不是每個人都喜歡下載要等待時間、輸入驗證碼或充斥許多廣告的免空，尤其當要分享幾個檔案給好友時就會希望自己有個私人的小型檔案空間。72dpi.cc 是一款很簡單的檔案分享服務，只需要設定一個帳號（甚至無須提供 E-mail 地址）就可以免費獲得 10 GB 空間，而且沒有下載或傳輸限制，單檔最大支援 2 GB，對於一般用戶來說已經綽綽有餘。

72dpi.cc 讓我想到之前介紹過的 Min.us, 介面都很簡潔，不過 72dpi.cc 沒有拖曳立即上傳檔案的功能。註冊後登入即可上傳檔案，隨時可以獲取下載鏈結或是刪除檔案，72dpi.cc 也可以追蹤每個檔案的下載次數，或是設定下載密碼。目前尚無法得知檔案保存時間。

使用教學

進入 72dpi.cc 網站後點擊右邊的 register 綠色按鈕，會出現如下畫面，從左到右依序填入帳號、密碼以及你看到的數學算式答案，最後按下 register 就完成註冊。

註冊後立即登入 72dpi.cc, 控制台畫面如下，使用者可以依照檔案類型來篩選或尋找內容，主要的功能列在右上角，包括密碼設定、流量使用情形、資料夾管理和上傳檔案。

上方可以選擇要顯示所有檔案、圖片、音訊、影片、純文字或壓縮檔。目前 72dpi.cc 提供註冊用戶 10GB 空間，在控制台左上角也可以看到容量使用情形。

點擊右上角的「New Upload」再選擇要上傳的檔案，就會開始上傳。如果使用 Google Chrome 的話可以在左下角看到上傳進度。

上傳到 72dpi.cc 的檔案會一格一格顯示在控制台裡，看起來一目了然、也方便管理使用。

將滑鼠游標移動至檔案上方，會有四個按鈕可以選擇，從左到右分別是下載次數、取得下載鏈結和設定下載密碼，如果此檔案不再需要使用，點擊右上角的 X 可以刪除檔案。72dpi.cc 檔案下載鏈結很貼心地使用 bit.ly 服務縮短網址，若要在微網誌或社交網路上分享就不會受字數所限制。

進入下載鏈結後可以取得檔案的直接連結（Direct Link），點擊 Download 下載檔案。

Android Widget Series: Agenda Widgets To Keep Your Life On Track

In my previous article of the Android Widget Series, I gave a few examples of clock widgets that help keep you on time. In this weeks article, I will give examples of a few different “agenda” widgets. These widgets either place calendars, to do lists, or a variety of other organisational tools on your home screen. This is useful if you wish to glance at your upcoming appointments and tasks.

1. Default Android Widget

Firstly, the stock version of Android comes with a few widgets pre-installed. These widgets are not as nice or as feature-full as some of the other examples in this article, however if you simply wish to scan the month or your upcoming appointments then it is perfectly adequate.

The main problem with the above widgets is that it only shows the first event of the day and the remaining events are obscured. If you wish to have a scrollable list of widgets, you may wish to try the following widgets.

2. Android Agenda Widget

Although Android Agenda Widget does not have the slickest UI, it is still one of the more popular widget apps because it syncs appointments and tasks from a variety of sources including, Google, Activesync, Touchdown exchange, Astrid, SSI gTasks, Dato GTask, Google Task Organizer, Got To and Do.

If you wish to enable all the additional functions of this widget, then download the Plus version.

3. Calendar GO Widget

If you are not overly concerned about having a boat-load of functionality, but do want some nice eye candy, then Calendar GO Widget is highly recommended. There are three widgets to choose from, a month view, an agenda view, and a daily events view.

According to the reviews, this widget displays all the calendars (from Google Calendar) and does not allow the user to select which calendars to view.
Calendar GO Widget requires the home screen replacement GO Launcher EX to be installed.

4. Simple Calendar Widget

If you prefer a minimalist interface then Simple Calendar Widget is the best choice for you. This widget features a number of different styles, skins and other customisation options depending on whether you prefer a lighter or darker theme or whether you want to donate more or less screen real-estate.

5. Laik Agenda Widget Calendar

Developer Laik makes a popular calendar widget which takes up very little space but at the same time displays a large portion of information. Additionally, unlike some of the other calendar widgets the different Google Calendars are colour coded. Just don’t expect a lot of customisation options from this widget.

If you wish to support the developer, then consider opting for the donation version of the Laik Agenda Widget.

6. Smooth Calendar

This calendar widget is ideal for those who do not want to sacrifice a lot of screen real-estate. You can customise the size, look, and feel of the widget to make it “smoothly” fit into your home screen.

ShortcutsMan 自動搜尋並刪除已失效的捷徑（中文版免安裝）

捷徑其實是一個很方便的設計，能讓使用者在執行某個程式或前往某個資料夾時無須經過層層切換，大部分的軟體在安裝後也會在開始功能表或桌面上建立捷徑，讓用戶可以更方便執行使用。不過電腦在長時間的使用後可能會有一些失效的捷徑，雖佔用空間不多，卻可能造成不便，

透過 ShortcutsMan 可以自動搜尋 Windows 裡失效的捷徑鏈結，再快速將失效捷徑刪除，這支程式只有約 50kb 左右，具備繁體中文語系，且免安裝。

How To Disable Lightbox View For Blogger Images?

Blogger just announced today that they have now automatically added Lightbox view effect to all blogs by default. Now when you click on your images or photos, a wide black I frame window opens that fades the page in the background and shows you the image in foreground without leaving the page. Lightbox is also called as Greybox or thickbox. It is a cool image effect that you have seen widely used everywhere especially on Facebook and Google+. But for some people like me this effect has turned into a headache. Even the read more buttons on my blog when clicked popped in a new window instead of taking the user to the full post page. So of course there must be a way to disable it completely in your blogs and if you wish to apply it with complete control then you may add this effect manually by reading any tutorial found online on Lightbox view.

Solution Found!

As mentioned earlier the only problem I faced was in calling the JavaScript function and even after calling it correctly I was not able to disable the effect. Thanks to EnglishJavaDrinker I just get to know that instead of adding the JavaScript above </head> we must add it between <body> and </head> which sounds really weird but it is working just perfectly!
Do this in order to disable the effect:

Go To blogger > Design > Edit HTML
Backup your template
Search for </body>
Paste the following code just below </body>

5. Save your template and you are all done!

How to Reverse The Mouse Scrolling Direction in Ubuntu (aka Natural Scrolling)

When Apple releases Mac OSX Lion, one of the changes is the switching of the trackpad/mouse scrolling direction. Instead of scrolling the mouse wheel down to move down the page, you have to scroll up to move down. Apple imported this feature from iOS and call this feature “natural scrolling”. Not everyone love this feature, but if you are one of those who love it, and wish to implement this feature in Ubuntu, here’s how you do it:

1. Open a terminal. Type:

gksu gedit

2. Paste the following to the text file.

pointer = 1 2 3 5 4 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

You can see that the sequence 4 and 5 are switched. This represents the switch in the vertical scrolling direction. If you want the horizontal scrolling to switch as well, switch the 6 and 7.
3. Save the file with the name ‘.Xmodmap’ (without the quote, but with the dot in front) in your Home folder.
4. Close the file and terminal.
5. Log out and log in again. Your mouse scrolling direction should change now.
To revert the setting, simply delete/remove the .Xmodmap file.
If you are using KDE (Kubuntu), the tweak is slightly different.
1. Go to “System Setting -> Input Devices -> Mouse”.
2. Check the box “Reverse Scrolling Direction”. Click Apply.

That’s it.
Note: There is another app call naturalscrolling. I have tried it in Ubuntu Oneiric beta and it doesn’t work. If you are keen to try it out, here is how you can install it:
Open a terminal and type:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:zedtux/naturalscrolling
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install naturalscrolling

If everything goes well for you, you should see an appindicator where you can tick to change the mouse scrolling direction. Let me know how it works for you.
