Embark, Embrace is a dazzlingly apt title for Enemies’ second album. It’s a invitation to the listener- get lost in their lush layers of sound, and fall in love. Enemies also dabble with including vocals on this record, but they never overwhelm the multi-faceted instrumentation. Executive Cut (featuring Conor Adams from Cast of Cheers) is a particular highlight. Stream the album below, and download it here.

Dirty Projector’s Swing Lo Magellan was one of our favourite records of 2012- now, we get to fall in love with one of the tracks, ‘The Socialites’, all over again. The Socialites Remixes is released today, featuring reworkings by Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, Falty DL and AlunaGeorge, which you can listen to below.

For those of you eager for AlunaGeorge’s debut album, Body Music, the wait has been extended. The release has been pushed back from the 1st July until the 15th. Console yourself with the beautiful remix below:

New: Suffer Like G Did- Beow

I’m not really sure how to accurately describe the kind of music Suffer Like G Did play- I’ve heard it described as both alt-jazz and math-rock, which is exceptionally confusing. All I’ll say on the matter is on ‘Beow’, their sound is brilliantly executed, highly original and funky as all Hell.
The band described ‘Beow’ as a bridge between last year’s ‘Raspberry’ EP and the new material they’re working on, which will explore ‘more atmospheric qualities and a stronger use of dynamics’. I for one am pretty excited to see what they come up with.

Video: Wild Nothing- Paradise

Wild Nothing have released a video for Paradise, and it’s almost as stunning as the song itself. It features Michelle Williams reading an extract from A Word Child by Iris Murdoch, recorded in the Rare Book Room (where the song/album was recorded). Video: Young Rival- Two Reasons

Young Rival just dropped a new video for the track Two Reasons, and had this to say about it:

Just about a year ago we stumbled upon the face-paint artwork of James Kuhn and decided to e-mail him to see if he’d be up for a collaborative video. He said yes, and after we received a stack of incredible videos from him we edited this final version together. Hope you enjoy Internet.

The result of this collaboration is the coolest/creepiest video of the year, which you can check out below. Their debut album is released next week, and if this is anything to go by, it’s going to be pretty damn interesting.

Stream: Night Moves- Coloured Emotions

I don’t think album titles come much more fitting than Night Move’s ‘Colored Emotions’. It’s both filled with lush, colourful textures and clearly from the heart. It features vocals that can be described as both soulful and howling, and guitar lines that beg to be swayed along to. Basically, it’s fucking great, and you should listen to it below.

Stream: How to Dress Well- Total Loss

How to Dress Well (aka Tom Krell) is currently streaming his new album, Total Loss, ahead of its release next week. The album is full of sublimely haunting, RnB-influenced sounds, and is one of the strongest efforts I’ve heard recently.

About his creative process, Krell stated: “I had reached a point in my own life where I wanted real change — I was tired of being sad, tired of being negative, and this sadness and negativity was really tested by my circumstances: Could I find hope through these times? This was kind of the challenge I set for myself on Total Loss.”

You can now stream Grizzly Bear’s new album in its entirety over at NPR. Whilst preliminary listening suggests it’s not as lush or majestic as Yellow House & Veckatimest, it’s still definitely worth a listen. Check out ‘Sleeping Ute’ and ‘Yet Again’ in particular.
