Chapter One; Burning Bridges

"I Kris Reynolds take you, Samantha Hill to be my life partner. I promise to have and to hold from this day forward. I give to you my unending love and devotion. I promise to be truthful to you, to value you, and to share my hopes, thoughts and to watch dreams with you. I look up to you to you to spend rest of our lives together and grow old with one other"

"And I pledge to you to love you above all others and to value this relationship as a precious gift of Lord Jesus. I look forward to you for raising our family and building our connection. I Samantha Hill promise to stand beside you, in times of prospers and decline, in sickness or health, in peace and in havoc, as long as we both shall live."

A soft romantic song sung by the hired singer found its' way into the air along with the strong scent of love, Kris and Samantha found a small area of the large back yard and began to bask in the ambiance of their new lives.

I found my way to the bar and watched as the bartender worked the drinks like magic, every mix and poor cooperated so flawlessly. I got my drinks and made my way back to Jon.

"Here,"
"Thanks babe"
"No problem, are you enjoying yourself?
"Yeah, this is great. Your mom must have went through alot of trouble to get all of this together.."
and she did.. the bartender, singer, magician, and acrobat couldn't have been cheap,

..but alot of it seemed other done to me, I think in a way I was jelous. I almost feel as if my mom thinks this will be the only wedding she's going to get out of us kids, and I'm sort of hurt by that..

After the acrobat show we made our way to the far end of the back yard to watch the happy couple cut the cake. Iwas so happy for my sister, she was beautiful and happy as I've ever seen her, but for some reason I had a bad feeling about Kris. He just doesn't seem like the man I wanted my sister to marry but as long as she is happy, right?

I found myself to be wandering around aimlessly most of the night, not trying to draw attention to my blankness I made excuses to go inside whether it be for a new camera battery, more champagne, or another trip to the bathroom..

By the time the magicians show was over it was already past 8:00pm and I had an important meeting tomorrow, so I decided I would congradulate my sister and brother-in-law before I made my way home.

I made my way to Samantha and gave her a big warm hug,
"Congradulations Mrs. Reynolds," I joked
"Awe thanks 'Drina, Love you. I'm glad you could make it"
"Of course, I wouldn't miss this for the world"
and then I made my way towards Kris who had his usual smug look on his face.

"Bye Kris,"
"Oh, headin' out?"
"Yeah, I have big meeting tomorrow and I need to go home and get some rest,"
"Wow, well would it honestly kill you to spend a little more time with your family?"
I was shocked to say the least, I couldn't believe he of all people would be criticizing me..

"I don't think that should be any of your concern," I began
"Well now that I'm part of your family, I think it is.."
"Ha, believe me Kris.. you're a long way from being part of MY family." I belted out before I could think.
"Well I'm glad. I don't want to be family with a coinceited bitch like you."

It must have been the look on my face, because there was no way Jon could have heard that over the music and before I could blink my eyes he was there. And ready to fight.
"What's the problem over here?!" Jon demanded
"look calm down, I was just telling Audrina here how much of a stuck up c***t she's been to her family"

In a cloud of smoke, the two were at it..
Jon wouldn't let up no matter how loud I screamed, he just kept pounding his fist into Kris. At this point I was more scared from Kris whose scronny build wouldn't compare to Jon's muscular athletic body but this wasn't Jons first fight and he knew when to stop.

Without another word to my family, I grabbed Jon and we made our way to the front gate. Him, limping from the fight and me crying from the bridges that had been burned that wouldn't be rebuilt for a long while.

There isn't much I can do as of now but wait.. hopefully this will all blow over and things will be back to normal in a couple days.. but I'm afraid things have been said that can't be unsaid.
