But there is a THIRD option and that is to use what is already ‘out there’ and readily available!

About this session: “An image is worth a 1000 words!” With this in mind, how can digital images be used for learning. What impact has technology on the use of images for learning? This will be an unconference style presentation where participants will share on some of the following topics:

Last week we had a fantastic time touring the new features of Youtube and looking at some of the technicalities of uploading. In this session Ness Crouch and Chris Smith (aka Shamblesguru) will lead you again looking at not only Youtube but some other video sharing options, including Youtube EDU and Teacher Tube. The webcam showed a banana, makey makey (an invention kit) and Scratch code to demonstrate what could be done with makey makey. The makey makey creates a circuit, the banana conducts. A quick demo of making a simple game with MS Kodu was given (this may load in a flakey fashion in the recording as it has high resolution graphics.) MIT App Inventor seemed a user friendly app creator. Marc again effectively used his webcam to use his phone to read the resultant qr code and add his app to his phone. Thanks Marc for a fascinating session.
