It's interesting how Internet makes world feel so much smaller place. For example, today I sent an email to professional writer at the other side of planet to notice him about writing error in his blog. Interesting thing was that I got reply in 14 minutes, making it less than it would take to get some food from the local shop and get back to home.
I have been using Internet since 1997. While that might not be long time in history of the world, quite bit of things have been happening since then. Change from traditional publishing and broadcasting to personal blogs and video publishing at web has been quite big (while it should be noted that books still have their place in the world). Reasons for changes are many but one of the profound and interesting ideas is that communication has become more interactive. While depth of relationship between publisher and reader has in many situations become less, increased communication between reader and publisher can make things me closer, instead of weakening the feeling of trust.
Changes have made real time communication possible in new forms. Phone calls from USA to Europe were not that cheap in old days but these days people call digitally without any additional costs (besides their computers and Internet connections). And with video, it's not all about voice anymore. Having been using IRC since 1998, I have seen how text-based communication can form communities of people, coming from different parts of world.
Where might this go in the future? As open source and open collaboration increases, ideas go global and people make new things together, there are multitudes of possibilities for interaction and action. Hopefully more people would realize what they could do with tools they are given. Instead of preventing others from seeing ‘their’ ideas, people are thinking “Give away everything you know, and more will come back to you”.

Hopefully world is better tomorrow, instead of what it will be.

Edit: Thanks to friend from the Spain for noticing, I tried to fix few errors of my own.
