Donning an exclusive Twilight Blue and Platinum Grey paint finish that hints at the shades of the famous Red Bull F1 car, RB8 has all the fineness in it.

With lots of Redbull branding all around, the edition also features Recaro seats, R-Link multimedia and a TomTom Live navigation system, Bridgestone Potenza tyres and the latest version of the on-board RS Monitor that records lap times as well as providing G-Force readouts and logs 0-62mph sprints.

Even inside, Red Bull branding finds way with bespoke aluminum kick plates and carpets.

RB8 shares the mechanicals of the impressive Megane Renaultsport 265 Cup with the same 2.0-litre turbocharged 261bhp engine,grooved discs with Brembo callipers,an anti-roll bar,stiffer springs, dampers, etc.

RB8 reminds of the racing gene with a 0-62mph sprint in just six seconds and go on to a top speed of 158mph.

Making it very exclusive is the fact only 30 RB8 cars will be produced and aluminium kickplates on the door sills will bear an individual number. There is no word on the pricing yet.

Southern Auto magazine Motor Vikatan caught the heavily camouflaged vehicle on road.

By the looks of the pic, it’s very clear the vehicle is at early levels of testing and might undergo heavy design stage before the final rollout.

SUV market has shown remarkable growth in India and if Mahindra manages to bring he S101 between 4 and 6 Lakhs they might have a winning entry here.
 

As per early rumours, the internals of XUV500 will be carried forward to S101 which is logical. It might also feature a six speed gear box. The design indicates a sportier roofing, let’s wait and watch if Mahindra gets its act right this time again with S101 like in XUV500.

The company has roped in former tennis star and the company’s global brand ambassador Boris Becker to promote here as well and the tennis legend will be touring couple of cities as part of the promotional campaign and kick started it in Delhi with the GL-Class launch event.

The new SUV is powered by a 2,987 cc and V6 diesel engine. While the  initial 100 units of the launch edition of GL-Class vehicles will be imported, from September onwards, the company will start assembling the vehicle at its plant at Chakan near Pune.

Following the Delhi launch, Boris Becker unveiled the GL-Class in Bangalore at Mercedes-Benz’s new facility in Bengaluru, Sundaram Motors. Spread over 13,000 sq. ft, the new dealership boasts of a 16 cars display and has a Mercedes Café and an exclusive Kid’s Play Area.

Available both in petrol and diesel versions, Amaze is seriously looking at stirring the segment dominated by Maruti Suzuki’s Swift Dzire.  There are plenty of variants to choose from with Amaze petrol available in six variants and diesel in four variants. While the Honda Amaze (petrol) has a starting price of Rs. 4.99 lakh, the base diesel version starts at Rs. 5.99 L

The Amaze diesel  is powered by a 1.5 litre engine and the company claims that it will give a mileage of 25.8 km per litre.  The engine delivers a 100 BHP power and the same engine will see into the diesel versions of City, Jazz and Brio scheduled for next year. The petrol option has a 1.2 litre engine and touted to have a fuel economy of 18 km per litre, while the automatic one is believed to run 15.5 km in every litre.

The diesel engine has a badge of Honda engineering and will have Solenoid fuel injector, High-efficiency cooling system. The Pistons will be narrower and shorter with environment friendly Fuel system. The engine is also said to be the lightest in the segment.

At 3990 mm, Amaze takes benefits of the excise duty levied on small cars for sub 4-meters in length. The sedan boasts of good space inside with ample headroom, legroom. The Amaze also has impressive 400 litre boot space.

According to Economic Times, the car would be based on refurbished Indica platform and has been codenamed ‘X0′. It is expected to be rolled out in 2015. Alongside, Tata motors has also plans of launching a compact sedan and compact SUV plus few more models lined up for next 3-5 years.

The fresh wave of activities can be attributed to the Tata Motors Managing Director Karl Slym who took control last year. Slym incidentally had an important role in introducing Spark and the Beat for General Motors in India when he was with the American company.

The tough challenge for the Indian car maker rather would be to change the brand image in tune with today’s buyers aspirational values. It could take a leaf out of Mahindra may be, what say folks?

The new Chevrolet Sail sedan would succeed the ‘not so popular’ Aveo sedan that was discontinued a few months ago and has a bigger competition to take on in the fast-growing entry-level sedan segment in India. The segment has been growing at the rate of 40% last couple of years and Maruti’s Swift Dzire enjoys a fabulous run becoming the third most sold car in India last year. The new Sail sedan also faces stiff competition from Toyota Etios, Tata Indigo eCS,  Ford classic, Mahindra verito.

While the petrol variants of the sedan will be priced from Rs 4.99-6.41 lakh, the diesel variants will range from Rs 6.29-7.51 lakh.

The petrol version of Sail sedan is powered by a 1.2 L SMARTECH petrol engine delivering 86 PS @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm @ 4400 rpm while the 1.3 L diesel SMARTECH turbo-charged engine delivers a 78 PS @4000 rpm and 205 Nm @ 1750 rpm.

According to the company, the petrol variant gives a mileage of 18.2 kmpl while the diesel engine promises a 22.1 kmpl.

Like the hatchback, the sedan is good on space and packs a large boot with a capacity of 370 litre.
