For my blogging, I wish to develop more deep dive studies on mobility, retail e-commerce and business modeling which are three fields of e-business that I have started specializing in during my Masters degree in e-commerce @HECMontréal

For speaking engagements via Ahora solutions: I will give more conferences, trainings and participate to more panels to share my experience, my expertise, my studies and my B2B hands-on internet marketing newly found niche.  I was not expecting to pioneer the Canadian B2B web marketing  and social media marketing when I joined a B2B firm.  Not at all. I realized at the B2B APCM conference that Canadian B2B enterprises are still in the obscurity…  And that there is a limited number of knowledgeable experts who have actually walked the B2B web marketing talk.  There are so many “gurus” who do not implement their recommendations. That is scary.  I am a strong believer in the do-ers who talk about how they achieved their success, even if infinitesimal. You can’t spend you day thinking about keynotes but not applying, testing and sweating.

I have accumulated so much hands-on applicative and strategic knowledge from working at Kissfilms/Jetfilms, Quebecor, at Canoe.ca (shortly, at Yahoo.ca, Flickr.com that I feel like the story has not been told to the world at all and that I have been keeping all that good information to myself. Greedy little me.   That was not on purpose, and I will make sure to respond positively speaking engagement. I am known to be slow on the dialing back.  By the way, it is easier to contact me via email or via my Twitter account:@katz_kul.  I just receive too much spam on Facebook and I am really slow on the phone – an interaction system that just does not fit a 100% with my personality.

For my current job @DeloitteCanada where I am the Head of online marketing, I wish that our integrated marketing campaigns grow in success.  That initiatives like the www.tmtpredictions.ca , www.deloitte.ca/fast50 and www.deloitte.ca/myTMT #myTMT continue to florish, that the enterprise engage deeper in the online conversation and the richness of the learning related to that.

For my passion: because I think my other passions in life impact my profound business passion of being an Internet marketer focused on innovation, my hobbies: surfing, meditating, jogging, making and listening to music, cooking vegetarian food and yoga need to grow in importance in order for me to grow as a person.  I wish growth in quality time spent fulfilling my 2010 hobbies dream and I wish to add another one in 2010: becoming fluent in the spanish language in 2010.

My list might not be a long as Chris Brogan’s… Now to you. What is your Business wish list for 2010?

You might be saying again: “Yes, but there is iMovie, and Windows Movie Maker.”

 True. But, instead of pushing a non-differentiation uncompetitive Yahoo! Video platform, Jumpcut could have been kept alive and better integrated or merged with Yahoo! Video, with Flickr Video or as a stand-alone tool or API compatible with the top video platforms like Youtube, Dailymotion, Blip.tv or else.  It could have been what Picnik is to the photo world, a tool, an intermediate, and Yahoo had plenty of time to do that since Jumpcut was acquired in 2006.

Jumpcut could have been the real User-generated Goodness product.   It brought us the Crash the Superbowl Video Contest (official web site).  This contest revealed real creators (vs. YouTube’s “Wonder of the hour” ) and future directors to the world eye, which has a way deeper dimension and a much broader meaning, even if it is in the advertising world (some people will say they hate advertising anyway).

Do stats say it all?   When we look at the stats, it makes sense to kill it, still it was not promoted to the extent it truly deserved. Yahoo was too busy managing, what was at the time 4 non-integreated with each other video platforms. Yes you heard it: FOUR! When you have two similar product, it is a problem; four is just an overload or an incapacity to make decisions.  The official reason: “This was a difficult decision to make, but it’s part of the ongoing prioritization efforts at Yahoo! ” At last.  Good enough!  

For once, Google trends and Comscore data seems to align in showing a drop from 60K monthly unique visitors to 30K and less:

The other upcoming video editing platforms out there Jaycut.com and MovieMasher.com don’t seem to get any closer to a broad adoption.  Jaycut seems to have an interesting suite of integrated video services/products and has won a RED Herring distinction.

Let’s wish them luck!  And about Jumpcut? Maybe that was just me getting too emotional about a defunct product.  When it is too late, it is just too late.

Je ne sais pas par ou commencer… Voici donc une photo… prise en direct des toilettes du Reposado Bar à Toronto dans lequel Heather Champ, Naomi Lipowski et moi-même avons organisé un petit Meetup comme on les aime bien. Seulement, je ne savais pas que les flickreenos de Toronto étaient aussi allumés! Woaw………….

Mondo, mieux connu sous le nom dzgnboy sur Flickr, m’a demandé de participer à sa série de photos prises en direct des salles de bain ou des toilettes.

Le concept:
-Des femmes
-Une toilette
-Une caméra
-Un photographe à l’esprit vif et allumé… et à l’esprit croche? Non, pas vraiment.

Depuis ce matin, Flickr s’est ouvert à 90 secondes de vidéo. Un groupe d’exclusifs de bêta testeurs ont pu depuis deux semaines s’adonner à coeur joie, donner des commentaires, des recommandations, tester la vidéo de fond en comble pour finalement pondre cette nouvelle fonctionnalité, qui devrait bien plaire à plusieurs. Des semaines de pur plaisir, en catimini.

Aux vidéos authentiques, vrais, touchants. Aux clins d’oeil que l’on se fait à soi-même ou à son petit groupe de fidèles et d’amis.

Voici les fonctionnalités à venir – en bref:

Wow – I’m looking forward to playing with this. The 90 second limit on the videos seems like a problem at first, but it may actually force people to be creative. It makes me think of how the new iMovie software works – it encourages you to work with clips of video, and I find myself making short movie clips along with photos to tell a story that is much more interesting than the longer videos. Also – I wonder if the new Flickr video will allow you to embed them in your blog easily like YouTube does

Comme l’ont mentionné plusieurs invités: la musique était très entrainante (jazz, pop, salsa, merengue, hip hop, reggaeton, etc.) l’alcool coulait à flot comme le démontre ce fameux yahoo-tini sur la photo, l’Opus était plein à craquer (eh oui! certaines personnes ont bien malheureusement dû poiroter à l’entrée) et l’ambiance et la “crowd” y était! Gens branchés de Montréal, geeks, jeunes entrepreneurs, vieux loups 1.0 et visionnaires 3.0 ce fut un grand plaisir de vous accueillir dans ce qui fut l’antre Yahoo! pour une soirée magique, selon moi, pendant laquelle j’ai eu le plaisir jouer au papillon social, butiner et m’entretenir avec les gens de mes communautés.
