Malaysia Cracks Down on Protestors

Okay you may ignore the exaggerated music but that alone can't make this video so saddening. Watch the video below:

First up, Bersih 2.0 began as a coalition of 60+ NGOs demanding for reforms to Malaysia's electoral process, of which one of them include cleaning up the electoral roll that contains many registered voters that should have been DEAD by now, otherwise Malaysia should be holding the world record for having the oldest people in the world!

Okay so when their demands were not entertained by the Elections Commission and the government, peaceful demonstration was the only way to show how many people support the demands by Bersih 2.0. And of course, what else would our insane Home Minister do other than declaring the assembly illegal without a police permit and arresting anyone caught promoting the rally on July 9th? Not just that, Bersih 2.0 is also declared an illegal organisation under some Registrar of Societies Act and hence a police permit will not be given even if they wanted to apply for one. And as all these complications pile on top of each other, making it impossible for the peaceful demonstration to be at all legal, arrests are efficiently being made on supporters wearing the yellow Bersih T-shirts.

What about our dear Prime Minister Najib? Nothing much, just offered a stadium for the rally and when the rally organisers have graciously accepted his offer, he then lets the police decide on whether to allow the rally! What kind of PM is this! And of course the police won't, especially under the orders of the Home Minister! Yeah, offer a stadium and then asking your colleague to prevent the rally, very intelligent idea! What's more, a day after the rally he was apparently grateful that no one was injured and making the most irresponsible statement ever: "We offered a stadium for the gathering, but unfortunately, to my deep regret, they rejected the offer.". Screw you la.

What the hell is wrong with you guys! All Bersih wants is just a peaceful demonstration that is entitled under Article 10 of the Constitution of Malaysia, but that is not even possible. Threats of security huh? Look at the videos and tell me who are the ones committing brutality and violence? Citizens wearing black uniforms?

Malaysia, 54 years of age. Unfortunately, has not grown up much but instead degenerated into a nation that suppresses the rights of its own people. This, I believe, is what you get from a nation with many who are not politically conscious, because of the very fact that the government had been elected by no other than Malaysian citizens themselves.

At least that is what I would like to believe to be the crux of the issue, after taking out the possibility of any acts of dishonesty in the elections. Well I do not blame them because almost all of our mainstream media are owned by one of the political parties that form the current government. Media does brainwash a lot of people as much as product advertisements on TV do to you! Not just that, even the ulamas do their biddings for their political masters! What kind of country is this? I just can't tolerate all these nonsense that happens in Malaysia already!

And I haven't even begun ranting about Ibrahim Ali.

This is going nowhere. I'm going to stop before I waste too much time on things that aren't gonna make any difference anytime soon.

I want to say "I feel like going home." but home is not where I want to be. I will be my own home.

Gah. It sucks. It's already May 14th. I am not making any real progress.

I feel uncomfortable. The one-year relationship has just ended and I don't feel like I have done anything. I do not have anything that I am proud of. All I have is regrets, albeit the fact that the only way to move forward is to put the past behind you.

I feel like I have wasted my whole year. What for? I don't even know.

I feel like a fake. And I do feel the guilt. A paralysing guilt. I cannot do this anymore:

I will not do anything that I don't want to do anymore.
I will do things only for myself.
I will stay true to myself, my principles and most of all, my heart.
I will be determined and stand strong till I have done all I can.
I will never do things that I know I will regret!
I have to rediscover my passion!

Bah. I hope I can live up to my own promises.

I am going to first deactivate my Facebook account. Fuck you facebook!

I shall fucking score this exam!

Yes I'm in exam mode now, thank god! This year was an eventful year, taught me lots of stuffs about life and people. Things that were so obvious yet so oblivious to me for so damned long, now I'm just grateful that I've seen them and dealt with them. I feel like an adult and think like one now, it is really refreshing to finally realise that my thinking was stuck at 16 years old, and I thought I was precocious! Yes, complacency is like the worst thing to have and that is why it took 4 years for me to realise that I am so damned outdated and I really need a fresh perspective on my life and the world around me.

People, they're just so interesting. Never will I be the super nice guy and think everyone's a nice guy anymore. To think everyone had their appropriate reasons for their actions, what was I even thinking? Some people are just so ugly on the inside I feel a loath so overwhelming that I feel like writing their names in the Death Note. Yes, I feel so evil this year and this is so not me. Whatever happened to the nice and calm-headed Au Yong Min Hao? Did the world corrupt you like it did to everyone single growing human? I hope it did, in a good way. I hope that this eventful experience is at least useful in my life, oh yes it will, I can hear myself say.

Man. Life. It hurts to be idealistic.

Okay, short post only this time. I'll come back and hug you after my exams alright. Bye blog!

Football jerseys Muslims should not wear

KOSMO! carried a report about Muslims who wittingly or unwittingly wear football jerseys which display images of crosses, liquor brands and devils.

Johor Religious Council adviser Datuk Nooh Gadot said wearing such jerseys were forbidden in Islam.

“It is as if Muslims are worshipping and exalting the symbols of other religions. Islam does not compromise on this matter, regardless of whether it is worn for fun, fashion or sport,” he said.

Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria agreed with Nooh and said although Islam did not forbid its followers from participating in sports or dressing up, it has to be done within the boundaries of Islamic law.

I say, how about having a boundary for closed-mindedness? How do you like me saying that non-Muslims shouldn't draw anything that resembles the moon then? Is there NOTHING BETTER that these people can do besides getting silly opinions on the news?

On another note, I hate getting back on this blog and start ranting again. Sigh that's what I always get after reading The Star - either all Malaysian political news gets on your nerves or The Star merely sensitizes it. Maybe I should change the newspaper that I read in Malaysia...or probably not read Malaysian news at all.

Probability, Analysis, Quantitative Economics, Applications of Algebra and Analysis, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra. These are the modules that I'm going to sit for in June and I have not begun any substantial revision for any of these modules. I feel like a failure right now because I am disappointing so many people who have put great expectations on me and yet, I chose this time to slack. Now where did the drive to study go? Seriously I think I should reconsider my priorities in my life, or maybe my life. But now that I'm already here taking up a huge chunk of my parents' funds, it still is my huge responsibility to repay them for what the money is worth. I am to fulfil their expectations because of whatever that I've promised them, sending me here is not easy for them to do but I am not making full use of whatever that they've given me, whatever they've sacrificed for me.

Talking is just so easy but walking the talk is just a totally different case. When am I seriously gonna learn from all my costly mistakes that are results of my indiscipline? Seriously!

Anyway shall continue my eternal struggle to finish my revision, seems like the last time I ever completed my revision was before PMR, after that it never happened. Where oh where did the drive go. Do I need to be cruelly tortured to the bone before I start making things happen? Sheeesh.

I miss writing so I feel like writing something right now. My courses do not require me to write at all and the assignments consist of mainly calculations and manipulation of mathematical equations, yes not even my Economics module requires me to write. I am so looking forward to next year's module instead, there will be two Economics module, one mathematical and the other with lots of essays. Heh they give the same exemptions so I guess I shall choose the latter because I am really a little tired of the mathematics involved in my first year. Talking about Mathematics, I thought I liked Mathematics but apparently it's just a fascination and when it comes down to work it just really ain't that fun at all. What more, the sense of achievement is gone already when you finally solve a difficult Mathematics problem, it's more like what the hell right now. So I look forward to more reading and I borrowed books from the library to read...woohoo! What's next would be to follow the UK and international news once again, first year is really too crazy, too much crazy fun that I've never got the chance to enjoy. I mean, the lack of curfew itself is a major change!

Oh yeah. Chocolate foam party up next! Another crazy event to end the term with, man I wonder how packed the Copper Room is gonna be.

This feels a lil awkward - me tellling stories about what has been happening to me right now because the usual content in my blog is merely rants and random stuffs, definitely not updates on my lifestyle. But what do I rant about then? The upcoming MSA presidency elections?

Let's see who's running...Probably Paul, definitely Vanessa and Hun Yin. Uhm, I think I'll never learn to totally not filter my thoughts, so nothing on them. Anyway the MSA, the Malaysian Night and the Warwick Games, I don't think I will be running for any of the executive positions for reasons of priorities even though I could run for it for the sake of experience and something to put on my CV. Well why Malaysian? Just to prove that you can work well with your own kind? I think that is doable from within my own home country, and after having travelled thousand of miles to this university I should think doing things differently would be the way to go.

Well of course that is not my only reason to not run for the presidency or any of the other posts. I do withdraw from running for the elections in term 3 because I am just not ready to give any full committment to the society, I think I am just a sucker for running away from everything just because I just want to do whatever I desire and don't want to be tied down by a particular responsibility. And for that I've screwed a relationship and a team project.

Eh but what about the apparent good job that I manage to do during the Malaysian Night? No idea. I just think I am a little too volatile and unstable, or more like unreliable lol! Seriously too many half-cooked stuffs to begin with. When do I really learn not to ditch things that I do not have to do? Beats me, this should come from within, so does discipline and determination plus motivation which I am lacking.

When will I be motivated to change just like dear Ka Chuan? Lol I admire how easily motivated he can be. Man I just need a big huge painful kick. When will life give me the kick? Or will that already be too late? Why can't I just push myself instead of waiting for the kick and maybe then it would already be too late. Argh.

So much more to grow up into. Economics test tomorrow, shall hardcore today. Sigh.

I have delayed reaction to whatever that is happening so here is what I have to say to you my dear scoutmaster:

It is very disheartening to realize that you're gone already although this part of life is inevitable and we do lose our loved/respected ones. There is definitely no point feeling sad over your absence because it would never bring you back. The sorrow eats into me nevertheless and I would feel like screaming at times.

You took great care of us like a father would have done so, guiding and mentoring us in hope that we become useful citizens that would contribute to the society in as many ways possible. I share your noble ideology and I am deeply affected by it. You have done so much and moulded many great personalities that continue this whole cycle, I therefore feel a huge responsibility not to disappoint.

I hereby decide to take on the legacy that you have left us all with by making a point to touch many people's life and making a great difference just like you did. The world needs more great personalities like you and I would like to be one of them. That is the least I should accomplish as I was also brought up by you.

Let that be one of the constant goals in my life.

A Debate on God by 10thKL Rovers

Now somewhere in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, there is a casual online discussion between the 10th KL Rovers on God and I think the mature discussion that we had should benefit more people than just us. So here you go! In order to make this conversation as compact and presentable, I've edited some parts of the discussion but it shouldn't change the whole context. Enjoy!

Since you've started on the topic of religion, then I want to ask, what makes you think that there is a god? Couldn't Darwin be right that humans are a part of an evolutionary process, having evolved from primates? What makes it so sure that Karma exists? Or even that Adam and Eve exists because the Bible and the Quran says so?

Why can't scouts be atheists in nature?

And Weinan, what makes YOU think that there isn't a God? I did not say God exist nor did I say God doesn't exist. It's just that everyone has their own beliefs.

But anyway let me tell you why God exists IMHO. First you say humans may be a part of evolution from primates. Well on this part I agree with you although they talk about Adam and Eve. BUT, where did these primates come from? Don't tell me that they are evolved from other kinds of primates? And where did the other kinds of primates come from? From another kind of another kind of primates?

Now that is where God comes into the story. I agree with you that human may have evolved from primates. BUT the primates are GOD's creation.

Lets go beyond our thinking. Lets say for instance the scientists have found all their answers. Lets say for example, the world was created by something or bla bla bla. BUT who created that something? Lets say that something was created by an Alien or whatever you want to call it. AND that Alien or whatever you want to call it is GOD. That's because God means 'creator of the universe'. So anyone or anything that create the universe is being regarded as GOD! So either way, i.e scientists found an explanation, or religion's fixed answer, the word God still exist. Because as long as there is a creator, there is God.

Au Yong Min Hao:

As for explaining the unexplainable, I find it extremely amusing if we were to explain the unexplainable by something even MORE unexplainable! In short, if God did everything, who did God? Sadly it does not get anymore interesting here as most of us stop at this very unexplainable explanation.

True..Why must one be religious?

I don't think religion is like a staple for human beings to live, as of as food and drinks..quoting from Au Yong, you may live without many things, e.g. love, social activities, entertainment, etc. In fact, we may even live without religion...

I believe the saying of some historians, that God started to come in when dying humans were afraid..they needed comfort and peace, thus the creation of such "super-beings". Also because it wouldn't need much explanation e.g. why is there thunder and lightning? The simplest answer by them is just god, it makes their lives simpler. And because you want to share your secrets with someone, and the hardships that you've got, you turn to someone, i.e. god(s), simply also because telling to yourself seems stupid.

If you're a theist, can you all then explain, what makes you think God exists? It may be similar to superstitions, which were made to be believed, and not be a fact or reality.

Here's my explanation. God exists because of the law that Eric Khoo mentioned, everything happens for a reason. The world was created by something or someone. And I said it once and I'll say it again, that something or someone who created the universe is regarded as God. Because whatever that creates is God. That's the term God. No matter you are an athiest or not, the word God exists because God means Creator Of the Universe. Even if it's the Big Bang, the Big Bang will also be regarded as God. Even if you say the universe was created because of some bang or some shit, that some bang or some shit is regard as God. So yeah, God exists no matter you are an athiest or a thiest, as long as (like Newton's law) everything happens for a reason, and as long as there is always a creator of something. Unless you can tell me a thing in this world which nobody (includes the alleged God) creates.

Nigel,

For a God to be able to be omniscient, omnipotent and have omnipresence, check out 6.5 billion people everyday and night, forgiving their sins, listening to their prayers, punishing bad asses, he would have to be an extremely complicated being. If you say that (I quote you) "any bang or shit" can even be regarded as God, it certainly doesn't fit to be the personal God that we all know. That kind of simple God would not be able to do all the things mentioned above, you might as well not call it God then, and the phrase "to do my duty to God" would be nonsense then.

IF you say an almighty sin-forgiving God is at the origin of everything, who created Him then? Substituting an unknown with another unknown still leaves you an unknown to solve. Putting God at the start and creation of everything is not a satisfactory solution from what I see, because someone still has to create Him. Unless God Senior did it, or God created himself etc. But that would be nonsense right? It would only lead to more complication.

On another note, on Noah's ark, separation of Red Sea, and that God created Adam then took a rib from him to create Eve. You sound like you don't believe in these stuffs. Am I right or plain wrong?

Okay, first of all I'm a new Christian, my faith is weak, no doubt, and no doubt, my knowledge is little, because I have not experienced enough.

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."

Look at the word "universe", the endless space beyond our Earth. "Uni" simply means "one, single", "verse" no doubt "a sentence or a line of words". "Universe" is derived from this two separate words to bring the meaning "One single sentence" Genesis 1:1...

Look at the verse. You see God simply put this line this simple because of the complication of how He make it, a Bible will not be able to contain it. And the knowledge is beyond reception of human intelligence, human will abuse the knowledge if God allows humans to have this knowledge (Look at how human use the knowledge of atom to the creation of atom bomb). Some people say, God created the world through Big Bang; some accept that God just created it, literally.

But whether how God created the world does not matter, it is why God created the world that matters. He is the creator of the world, we have to recognize Him. Would you create something and yet others take your credits? You would definitely be pissed off. He created the world simply because He loves us, mere humans, allow us to live on a fruitful Earth. He gave us the will to choose, just like Him, because God "make man in our (God's) image, in our (God's) likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1:26

About Darwin's Theory, some people believe no one created man, they simply evolved from primate; some believe that God created man through Darwin's Theory (Which simply make sense to them in both believing in God and a seems-to-be-convenient truth; but well some take it literally, including me. Before Darwin's theory is proven as fact, I would prefer something that is written in black and white, the Bible.

If you're asking, if the God that you are talking about all days is powerful and is merciful, why would He allow such things as evil, war, sins to happen on Earth? Well, as the Bible told us, He loves us, therefore He gave us the free will to choose, He gave us all we needed, and He gave us creativity, the power and knowledge to create, like Him. If He did not allow evil, what's the use of giving us a free will to choose since there's only one way? There is war because people simply choose the evil way, and evil is always tempting. God allows temptation, but God also said He never allow temptation beyond human's resistance.

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it."

1 Corinthians 10:13

This means we can always choose to do what is right even when we are tempted to sin or do evil!

You guys would think that there is no God simply because human knowledge and intelligence is limited, it is so limited that we can't see things beyond. And we tend to make judgement and conclusion from what we see and is pleasing to us and to our limited knowledge. The existence of God will only make sense to we human, when we have the intelligence to see what is hidden from us currently and way far beyond. I'm not saying that those who believe in the existence of God are more intelligent, that would be boastful, even my faith often shaken even the moment before I write this post. Remember, we humans are limited in intelligence, don't make conclusion with the limited intelligence of us.

We Christians believe and trust in Him because of what is revealed to us through the Bible and we admit that we humans are weak and powerless without Him. I choose to believe that what I believe is true because of what I had experienced, His love, His mercy and His power.

I can't change your concepts and believe, but I believe, the Almighty will soon reveal Himself and tell us the truth one day, and we'll realize how stupid we are...

I'll pray to God for your sake, pray that He will bless you, pray that He will reveal Himself to you, and tranform you because He has the power.

true...i believe that humans created 'god'; to create calmness in their selves...if such god really exist, since the recorded Egyptian history, why animism die off? according to them, their gods are in the form of cats...can you say that cats can't be god? if so, why must god be in the form of human? and if true god would show Himself to us, why would we need to wait?

I'm not questioning any particular religion, but in general...my question would also be, why would you all call god 'him', and not 'her'...i believe this may be because that when the olden days, where men rule the world, their dominant to put every thing as males...if you believe so, why god can't be of female...humans are born from women; without them, you won't even exist...

and then, if there is only ONE god, why would so many religions appear? would it reflect that there are more than one god? and if so, the heaven would be a mess, with different factions..and what if the real god is Allah, taking a random example...would buddhists or hindus be betrayed by their god?

First up, the word "universe" originated from Latin's unos (one) and versus (to turn), together it is "universus" which means "turned into one".

Secondly, a scientific theory is an explanation or model based on observation, experimentation, and reasoning, especially one that has been tested and confirmed as a general principle helping to explain and predict natural phenomena. It is strictly based on factual evidences and not a mere hypothesis. In short, the evolutionary theory is a fact, if you want a simple and clear term.

Thirdly, the bible is clearly not the word of God as it contains verses you wouldn't want to believe it is from God Himself. Look below:

(Deuteronomy 22:20,21) "But if ... evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones..."

(Judges 21:10-24 NLT) "So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. "This is what you are to do," they said. "Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin.""

(Deuteronomy 21:10-14 NLT) "And suppose you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you are attracted to her and want to marry her. If this happens, you may take her to your home, where she must shave her head, cut her fingernails, and change all her clothes. Then she must remain in your home for a full month, mourning for her father and mother."

(1 Peter 2:18) "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the cruel. "

The above are found from either the Old or New Testament, if you're ignoring these few-of-the-many-more verses and reading only the good ones, you're just cherry-picking from the bible. In simpler term, it has been censored. Now why would anyone want to censor material from an almighty perfect God?

If a scripture has many contradictions within itself, contradicts with our moral code, and also contradicts with what we know as facts (evolution), how credible can that scripture be? This certainly makes it an unreliable source of facts, definitely not what I would expect from something that is supposed to be from a perfect being.

Lastly, having limited knowledge doesn't mean we should just accept what we're told blindly, we too have to evaluate it before taking it for granted as the ultimate truth.

I'm not against religion, just passionate about the truth.

I believe everyone here have heard of the myth saying that humans are only able to use up to 10% of their brain, while the other 90% were remained as unconnected synapses and ingrown neurones. It is also rumoured that Einstein, our maths and physics hero, are able to use up to 14%, because he has a 'wonderful' childhood. At age of 5, he realized the theory behind a compass and the fact that 'empty space' does not equals to nothing. At 6, he learned violin and have been obsessed with Mozart's Violin Sonata. Therefore, some scientist believes that he is able to grow extra function and speed to computing information and processing it on his brain because he worked his brain since young hard enough to link more synapses and neurones. This could be proven as a real fact because studies show any child below 9 years old who had large proportion of his/her brain taken off due to seizures are able to experience miracle growth, and eventually become like a normal person. Their brain are able to connect to each other quickly because brains at that age are very adaptive. But, an adult will NEVER have this sort of 'miracle' healing. Therefore, if geniuses like Einstein are able to use only 14% of brain function, why couldn't it be possible that someone or something eg. God who are able to use almost 100% of his brain be able to perform big bang, a full set of creatures and many more "God' action?

If God is present, why couldn't we see him?????? I read across an article. I believe it should answer the question. The revolutionary discovery of the 'string theory' states that the whole universe should have nine or ten dimensions of space, instead of three dimensions (length, width and height). In the earlier version of the string theory, it was assumed that those extra dimensions were too small to be observed. Thus, the whole universe is essentially the same as the 3D world. If this were true, there would be no place for God. Fortunately, a few years before 2000, researchers began to realize that those extra dimensions could be as large as the ordinary three dimensions. The reason why we cannot see extra dimensions is because all matter and electromagnetic waves (photons) are confined in a three dimensional sub-universe called 'braneworld'. At present, the major agent we use to see or detect things is the electromagnetic waves which include radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, and x-ray. Since the electromagnetic waves are confined in our braneworld, this immediately explains why we cannot detect God if He lives outside our braneworld. The relationship between our braneworld (three dimensional) and the whole universe (ten dimensional) is like a flat (two dimensional) TV screen in our house (three dimensional). Suppose there is a creature confined on the TV screen, he cannot see us even if we are only a centimeter away from him. Similarly, if God lives in the ten dimensional space but outside our braneworld, we cannot see Him even if He is only a centimeter away from us.

If God created us, who created God then?? I believe this might be a possible answer. We do not know the initial condition of the bulk universe. The most natural assumption is that it started with an empty space. That is, before any matter was created, the bulk universe contained only vacuum. However, physical laws such as the famous Einstein's equation or even the Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle allow highly intelligent life (God) to evolve from the vacuum. Bcause, every particle or constituted matter contains energy. Since the energy conservation law states that the total energy of a closed system must be a constant. It is impossible to create or reduce the total energy. BUT! The key point that matter might be created from vacuum is that the gravitational potential energy is negative, which may cancel the positive mass energy of the matter. In short, a star could be created out of nothing if its negative gravitational energy precisely cancels out its positive mass energy. Therefore, God and even universe could be produced by nothing!

I simply realized this. I understand that faith is an important thing in Christianity. However, I think that we should not let alone faith to govern our beliefs. I simply take both Jesus as well as Science as my religion, despite both are very contradicting to each other.

You are indeed right. We are human. BUT! Don't you think we should do our best to find out the truth OUR OWN WAY so that we will not regret, no matter if the end result is true or false.

You can quote all sorts of things from the bible, i'm not saying it's not true, but frankly speaking, do u think a book can answer everything? the bible like a reference book for you if you are uncertain about what's the life after death. All the stories/tales serve as a moral studies in my opinion. All the details in the bible... are you sure they're genuine? are you sure in between nobody ammended it for the interest of the people who wants to spread the religion? there are so many prophets spreading christianity and only a few were taken. Are you sure you know why only a few were taken? Do you think God created Human beings? Have you known how big is the universe? Have you seen an alien before? Have you explored Area 51? I know Christianity intrigue you Kar Wai and it's not wrong to be a Christian, but... you need to think on the other side of what you're thinking. Always have questions and answers supported with sufficient evidence and confidence to go to a conclusion.

Again, there's no clear cut in religion because if there were, there'd be only one religion and one faith. That is why religion can only be backed up with Faith and Belief... You never enter a "holy" place without belief, be it Temple, Church, Mosque or Kuil. If you don't believe and you enter a place without belief, they kick you out.

this religion issue is purely a debatable and open topic...if you're in any way hurt by the posts written in here, PLEASE by all means, don't read any of these...

for the string theory, it might be true...science is still a vast subject where many questions and uncertainties comes up to us..take for example, photosynthesis is purely an observed theory given by radioactivity...we can't actually be in the plant to fully 100% understand the whole process of photosynthesis by the plants...so, if there is a tenth dimension, and they are the ones that created us, and they are way smarter than us, why can't they just show themselves out to us, to stop our crap debate?

taking Christianity for example, if Jesus were to exist as the Son of God, and not just a mere psycho guy, trying to change the world with the God theory, why can't we see the wonders now? why only exist at the years around 0 AD? if he were to appear every 20 years or so, i tell you, I'll stop atheisting, and be a Christian..

Translation is not so much of a problem. The world history is translated into many many languages and yet there won't be any serious misunderstandings or misinterpretations. It is the history that is questionable.

What do you want to know about Jews? It is pretty much the same like the other two Abrahamic religions (monotheistic), Islam and Christianity. These three religions share certain magnitude of ancestry and have certain similarity. Same same but different.

FYI, Christianity and Islamic is originated from Judaism, a religion based on the Law of Moses. Christianity is based on the teach by Jesus Christ, originally only for the Jews, later opened to Gentiles (Non-Jews) after the ascend of Jesus to Heaven by Apostle Paul. Islam however is based on the teaching of Nabi Muhammad, sorry about this, I failed my History. both Christianity and Islamic might share some similarity due to Judaism, but however different after the birth of Jesus. Islam denies that Jesus is the Son of God, and denies that Jesus is crucified.

It's very complicated man... I don't even... I don't know...all i got to know is they came from the same root and splitted and Islam continued with the prophets and ended with Nabi. There should be four versions of books according to Islam. However, I only remembered the 2nd, which's The Holy Bible and the 4th which's the Al-Quran. So by right if you're so interested in Christianity and you want the best version of the best, you should be a Muslim because the latest book is Al-Quran. =)

Yea, the holy war is exactly what is making me curious. Why? I don't know, all I know is they abused God's name. In the Bible is was clearly written that we should preach gently. They war probably to justify their belief, however, they did not follow the Bible.

Holy wars happen when humans justify their actions by religious means. Because the Holy Scriptures say God must be defended at all times, some people can not think of better ways to solve inter-religious conflicts.

Even if a religion preaches peace, it sure has a bloody past, as Islam and Christianity do. This is because when humans want to be evil, religion provide a justifiable means to do as faith is hardly questionable.

But not all do la, not the moderate ones, just the extremists. Now there are less major holy wars because we know the benefits of peace and the ugly side of such wars.

Again and again... religion is subjective. It's all about Faith. You can choose to believe it or not. Some people choose to believe it and some people don't regardless of the truth as long as they feel comfortable and as long as it doesnt harm them. That's the fact.

Religion can be something to motivate you but it can also be something negative if you tend to go to the extreme. I don't think we should be spending time knowing whether this is true or not or that is true or not unless you're done with something more important in your life - Studies. When you're gonna die only start looking into that lah. You still wont go to "hell" though if you chose to believe in Christ just 0.000001 second before you die. So... studies comes first. Don't neglect your studies...

I say, if the only thing that matters is the belief, there is no point in knowing what is true or what isn't. So what if every single history or verses in any Holy Scripture is not even close to being factually accurate? The main thing is that it promotes peace and goodness. It's the message that matters then.

On another note, speaking strictly from an atheistic point of view, religion is a dangerous tool for extremists as they always use religion as an excuse for their "noble" crimes and evil deeds. Although there are many moderate followers in many religions, there are bound to be extremists who justify their actions through religion. Therefore I think the absence of such belief will be generally better.

Well I wouldn't say religion teaches good thing all the time. Look at this:

Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour. (Ex. 32:27.)

BUT: Thou shalt not kill. (Ex. 20:13)

Yes, of course Christians all over the world don't say or preach such evil. Because of one simple thing, the followers are good at heart and they do not subscribe to such evil moral code shown in the first verse (in simpler words, ignored those verses). Some may not have read the whole bible, some are not even Christians, some are atheists, some don't care what they believe in, yet all these people preach good and do good. Of course there are exceptions, just like every case.

When you ignore those bad verses (killing, stoning, raping etc.), what is your basis of selection? It's you yourself, and the society that you live in. And when you are picking verses that you agree, you are ignoring those you disagree with at the same time, but yet all of them are (as the bible claims) the words of God. Again I ask you, how do you know which to agree or disagree? Ask any non-Christians, non-theists, agnostics, people starving in Africa, ANYONE. Chances are, they too can differentiate the good teachings and the bad teachings from the bible. My point is, religion does not necessarily teach you the good things, instead it is the ever-changing moral values that the society believes in that guides our conscience.

And before I forget, I disagree that human nature itself is bad. Instead, it is guided and shaped by it's environment, and the society in which they live. You don't need religion to tell you what is right or what is wrong, I believe you are good at heart and that you know what you should and should not do. You don't need a self-contradicting book to guide your moral values, you can do much better than that.

Nevertheless, there's no harm in reading the bible anyway because I assume you already know how to differentiate the good from bad, reading it might even make you a better person (not to say you're bad now la). I just don't agree if anyone says that religion teaches good moral values only, because it doesn't, we're just ignoring the bad stuffs and the bad "words of God".

Evidence? Read Self-Contradictions of the Bible and check it's accuracy against The Holy Bible. You have to check the facts because it is important that any book does not simply make statements out of nothing, and that I do not too, just in case somebody thinks I'm the evil that's misleading people.

You know the first time I read the Bible especially the war parts, I was disgusted at first. But however, if, for Christians, look at it the other way, it is actually not promoting violence and war, but the faithfulness to God and the obedience to God. Well, this is what I personally think, I'll need to consult my pastor about this further. Take note, I'm a new Christian, I might be wrong and I can be wrong. Remember Murphy's Law.

Yes, Au Yong, you are right. It's the environment that influences us. God gave us conscience, and to believers, the extra Holy Spirit, but Satan (To others maybe evil circumstances or environment) always tempt us. God gave us free will to choose, some choose the good and some the evil...that makes HUMAN'S DESIRE evil. well, it all boils down to how worry are you about death...if you know it's inevitable (and sure it is...), why not just let it go, and enjoy the life as it is...why must one think about hopes for going heaven or hell...if you know you're bad, you'll probably end up in hell, IF you believe in the existence of it..taking the opposite, if you guess and hoped that you're good in your life, you may want to die early and "live with the god" of your faith...

The text plainly says God gave orders to kill, rob, rape, stone, and to enslave. I, for one, just.do.not.see.what.is.not.clear.

If anyone chooses not to take it's literal meaning, it's his way of interpreting it. I can also create lots of excuses for the contradicting texts, I can also say this whole book is just a joke written by God and he is rolling on the floor laughing when we are believing every word he says, good or bad. And how true is it? You can't disprove it. I hope this doesn't offend too much as I am trying to put the message across.

As to why do we not try as hard to prove God, it's because the onus, the responsibility is on the believer to provide proofs. Ask ourselves, why do judges need concrete evidence to convict a criminal? We can't just make allegations like nobody's business, we have to have evidence to back up our allegations. It's not that I don't believe it because I want to deny it, it's just that I do not have the evidence to believe. But I have evidence not to believe, which is why I disprove it instead of trying to prove it.

On the issue of death, I do not live in agony and worrying where will I go or what will happen to me after death, because I believe death is the end. I am going to make full use of my life and enjoy it. If there really is a heaven and it requires me to be a hypocrite and believe every single word that the Holy Scripture says, I'd rather not go there. Truth matters more to me than the eternal joy promised if I were to discard the truth.

On the issue of human desire, if we have free will, does that mean it is given to us by some superior authority? No I don't think so. It's as simple as that.

Anyway, if I am God, I would not even create evil. That will save hell lots of pages in the Bible, and there wouldn't be war or anything bad at all. It gets better, I don't even have to write a Bible because all that's on everyone's mind are good stuffs, everyone gets a happy ending. So why bother creating evil? Do you call it wisdom? If you say He created evil for a reason, my reason for not creating evil would certainly be much better ain't it?

Arguments are based on reason and evidence. Faith is belief without evidence, otherwise it wouldn't be called faith. Therefore, yes I agree that it is somehow pointless to argue. If I say there's a teapot orbiting the planet Jupiter, and by faith I know it is there, nothing will bring me down because my belief is not based on any evidence at all. You can't disprove that there's indeed a teapot there anyway.

Well, it gets even better. I can also say I know there is no god by faith, so I guess my point is obvious.

Anyway, when it comes to where we go after death, let's just say heaven and hell really do exist, and there's a wise and fair judge that decides where you go. But now, there is no evidence whatsoever that tells me God exists. Nevermind, I find the truth using reason and evidence. I do not use faith because it is unreliable, billions of people all over the world believe in different stuffs and they can't be all right.

When it comes to the abrahamic God, the only source that tells me that He exists is the Scripture and its followers. However, I find lots of contradictions in the Holy Scriptures and what the follower says, I believe this is not the work of a perfect God, it seems much like an underachiever's work. I have reasons not to believe what the Scripture says. Nevermind, I do all the good things in life and repent from any wrongdoings, I will help people at all times with my capabilities, with purely good intentions.

After dying a good person on Earth, what reason is there to put my soul through eternal torture when I have done all the good I can? What lacks is just the absence of belief, but if that's what matters just to get into heaven, I really am speechless because that is definitely not a wise judgment. To send a good person that has reasons not to believe to hell, to send a good person that has NEVER heard of Jesus to hell, I don't think that's good judgment, if someone thinks it is, I'm cool with it.

Yes, with good intentions doing good deeds does make you a good person, but it does not make you a perfect person. Heaven only accept holy=perfect people. Which by faith in Jesus makes you perfect. Repent from your wrongdoings, believe and submit yourself to Jesus and your sins are forgiven, you are now a perfect person.

And you'll never be lonely up there because God is there, and Jesus too. There you'll never feel sorrow, sad, pain, suffer, envious nor lonely. And God said

My life is simple without having a supernatural being in my life, poking His nose into whatever I do, requiring me to pray to someone I can't even feel and has no close relation to me at all, requiring me to believe in fairy tales, and telling me that all my unbelieving friends and family are going to go through eternal hell because they are so stupid they can't realize the existence of Him.

Haha, yea it is. Okay, let's make this clear, in this discussion here, we shall open our minds to accept others' opinion. No one shall claim them absolutely right nor to accuse someone that they are absolutely wrong. Further, it's not up to us to judge who is right or who is wrong, it is God who knows the truth can judge (to those who believe). Here, we are voicing out what we think, which in Malaysia, hard to be done publicly, as you know the I Simply Arrest thingy...No one here is absolutely right nor absolutely wrong.

Some post might offend each other, but the conflict or disagreement should not be brought outside the discussion. Simple, no hard feelings. If someone is found offending, voice it out and the other shall apologize. Agree?

No matter who's "truth" is right, your faith and believe shall not be influenced by what the other says, this is called faithfulness. Hold on to what you believe, unless you totally lose trust towards your believe.

Yes. I agree. but this discussion is more like a guy using his bible which was supposedly "God's" words rebutting the atheist view that God doesn't exist under the humanitarian and scientific ground. Both side has a point, but i think Mock should rebut them using your own personal view as a believer of Christ instead of using 'his' words.

Because his 'words' only meant that he was the one who set the rules in Christianity and as a believer of Christ, you should back this religion by giving points from your own personal view, assuming the bible doesn't exist. But i don't think he would be able to do that, because the whole Christianity thing is based on the bible. When you ask a believer of Christ, why do you say God exist, he will quote the answer from a bible.

Well no doubt i am a believer of Christ too, but sumtimes i do not agree on everything in the bible. And im out here seeking a better explanation on things that are doubtful. Well, explaining a lot of things that happen in the world using the bible in this 21st century isn't the wisest thing as younger generation has their own personal view regarding life and their view is environment dependent; i.e: the surrounding that they were brought up.

In my opinion, to reach out to people the fact that God exist (to those who believe) is by expressing the religion in a different approach. Instead of using the bible ( where people always doubt its true because it is written by humans), one should start by maybe showing the calmness one experience by practicing this religion, the miracle that happened in your life or other devotee's, and etc etc. I know this is not the best example, but right now i don't really know other approach YET but i still do really think that bible is not the best way to reach people out. It MAY reach out to certain people, but others still find it hard to believe.

There's prolly no such thing as right or wrong until humans define it themselves. Which's can be called global norm. If other planet do exist, they might thinking eating themselves' not wrong! Humans, especially we were programmed ever since we're in our mother's womb that doing this is right and that is wrong till you subconsciously can differentiate it. I think you've heard about this.

What I'm trying to say is still... evaluate and analyse yourself with views from different differnt people because it's up to you to decide which one you like to hear/filter it. It's very pleasing to listen to comforting words from people but in the end, it still comes back to you asking yourself questions(i.e Do you deserve? Do you need? Shall I take it? Is it cerdible? ...) Please note that what you are now is influenced partly by who you're associated with including your parents, pastors, and friends etc etc. So you gotta be very very meditative and have high concentration to eliminate the influences and create a new you if you think you're not what you're suppose to be now. So... good luck. lazy to type d... =)

From my very personal view, in this world there is no absolutely right and absolutely wrong as far as human wisdom can judge. (Only He knows exactly what is absolutely right and wrong). Global norm is suppose to be a trend or action that is agreed by majority of human. Therefore we can only define right and wrong as "majority says this is right" or "majority says this is wrong".

Oh ya, do remember one thing, majority always win, but they are not always right.

You do not agree with certain things in the bible, which means you do not agree with certain things that God said. If you can pick out the nice words to keep and throw out the nasty ones, anybody can also do that, it's just that what we choose are different things. In the end, who's the one that made the judgment? It's you and me. By doing that, you are not basing your faith on God's words, and I don't have to explain further on why I'm mentioning this.

If, for certain reasons you believe that humans created those verses, or misinterpreted certain words from God, how do you know which words are correct and is not misinterpreted then? It could be anything, or everything.

If you say no one is right or wrong to the absolute, it is a dangerous thing to say, because it could simply mean that your belief in God is not absolutely right. But of course, that is your very personal view.

Anyway, I do agree that the majority isn't always right. In this case, majority of the people in this world believe that God exists, so they could be wrong. Therefore, there is a need to use reason and logic in such cases to validify the faith that the people have. Logic is as simple as "I believe in X, doesn't mean X is true."

IF, you do not wish to use logic and reason, then everyone would not have to justify their beliefs. Then, anyone could just believe in fairies, unicorns, pixies, elves, Zeus, Thor, Buddha, Jesus and Allah, and they would not have to explain why, even if it's illogical and unreasonable. I wouldn't call that faith, because you have evidence. You don't see lots of cars exploding randomly, you know cars are being tested before being put on market, you have seen many other cars helping people reach their destinations. Your only faith in the car is that bad luck will not find you.

Certain things do work by faith, that is belief without evidence, for example if you believe that you will become the world's richest person in year 2020. It is not impossible, but what evidence is there that you'll make it? Anyway, faith works well here, it keeps you going and overcoming obstacles. One day, you just might make it.

The faith I'm talking about is belief without evidence. I didn't say having faith in God is absolutely wrong or bad, it's just that having faith in something doesn't mean that something is true. "I have faith in X" does not mean that "X is true".

Throughout this whole discussion, I am putting up evidence that shows that the personal God we're talking about, does not exist. Again I say, if God exists only by faith and not reason, then all the 200+ Gods from 200+ religions will exist without any reason. And you can not say a thing, you can't disprove it, you can't say they're wrong because they are simply beliefs without evidence, without reason, without logic.

Imagine if all atheists were to have faith that God does not exist. See how unreasonable that is?

Sure, God and religion helps you, gives hope, provides comfort, gives you determination. That doesn't mean God exists.

I am keeping an open mind on God's existence, it's just that there is no evidence. Until and unless there's evidence, God exists just as much as the teapot that revolves around Jupiter.

blind faith..i think i have told you guys, religions, like fashion, comes and goes...it's like talking about animism...why do many people believe that animals are gods last time, and not now? because they then believe that it's bullshit...god can't be animals..

and the point is, it can be the same for Buddhism and Christianity..it goes by fashion...i believe my friend mentioned that Islam exists long before it became famous and have many devoted followers...so...the year 1400s AD, may be the time where some 'strong believer' wanted to do a full bombardment to spread the teachings, and thus created many 'history' in the process, and started the hijrah calender...

don't forget, our Gregorian calender is based on the Birth of Jesus...it is the majority who believed in him made this a norm now..BUT, that does not mean that everyone who uses the calender believes in Jesus...

faith, i think exists both ways...the 'creator' and the 'believer'..creator: the hope and faith that the believer believes to be...believer: the one that hopes that the faith is true...the creator may be anything, from the teapot orbiting jupiter, to the words saying god exists...and the believers are well, believers...that does not mean that the teapot really orbits around jupiter, it's just a hope and wish for that to be TRUE...

when you have great 'faith', anything can be true, to you..and only you...

and it's an incident that you can see many religion believers around, and so are the atheists...

Yes Eric, you can say that too, but faith it's something like, you see a doctor and you would listen to him and take medicine as he told you to without worrying if the medicine would kill you.

Speaking of evidence, there are evidence all around you showing God exists, just look around you. If everything starts from the string theory as the scientist says, then who set this string theory and make it works? It's up to you to imagine, but I would like too believe this is God's work. Satan would twist these evidences so that you would not believe that God did all these, and pull you away from God as you are now.

You are much like Satan the moment before he was banished from Heaven. Don't take it to heart, I'm not saying that you are evil, but the way you want to challenge God's wisdom. God gave everything to Satan, Lucifer Morning Star, the most beautiful angel in Heaven. He gave Satan emotion, just like He gave us emotion, and see how Satan ended up.

If you say the origin of everything has to start with God, what is the origin of God? You are using this argument, to claim that in order to answer the origin of everything, you have to bring in God. But in fact, you are left with an even unanswerable origin.

Let me illustrate your argument with an example, the Petronas Twin Towers. The Twin Towers are created by builders with the help of architects and engineers, born by many mothers and fathers, evolved from simpler organisms, happened via String Theory, formulated by God. Eh, why did you stop there?!

Anyway, you say that you would like to believe this is God's work. Does it make it true? I too can say that I believe this is not a work of God. Get what I mean.

Is that all the evidence you've got? Science has proven the Bible, or shall I say God, wrong a few times, that I know of.

The Earth is the one orbiting the sun, contrary to the Bible. Know what did the church did to Galileo? Find out yourself.

Humans are the product of evolution by natural selection. The Church of England has already made an apology for rejecting the evolutionary theory by Charles Darwin.

You can allege all kinds of stuffs, saying Satan twisted the evidence or God manipulated the evidence to test our faith. I call it excuses, and it's not unreasonable that I do so. Yeah I can even say God is joking with us!

Speaking of Satan, Satan is a fallen angel, and I suppose God created Satan too and knew (of course God knows! He knows everything!) Satan is going to turn bad. This is becoming like the case of tainted China dairy products: China produced the milk, milk gone wrong. Theists blame the product, consumers blame the producer. At least China took measures to get rid of the bad milks, but God didn't get rid of Satan.

I mean, in a harsh way, if you created shit, don't blame the shit. I could have used "something bad" instead of "shit", but I need the emphasis here, I hope offense is not taken.

And by the way, I'm tired of believers telling me that Satan is twisting the evidence, and they usually use it when they run out of arguments. It's the trend.

Again I say, if you're using such unreasonable excuses, I can use it too. I can say Satan rewrote the whole Bible, confused the believers, and posed as God, giving you false hope that you'll go to Heaven. Of course there is no logic to it, but you are not using it anyway. It's just a matter of faith.

Don't worry that because you're a new Christian, you don't know enough stuff and lack the knowledge to argue or to provide evidence. Christians, new or old, say very much the same old thing. And when logic and reason proves God wrong, they say it's Satan, or it's a matter of faith. Just imagine that I'm using this nonsense against you.

Tai, I may not say GOD don't exist. This is the problem with scouts nowadays, the 3g's Girls, Gays and Godless. (The worse one is godless, ignore the other two) GOD doesn't mean it must be the Christian god. It may just be the create-r, or something that we need to believe it.

Here's my testimony, God indeed transformed me. If it was me before I know Him, definitely I either punched you or argued face to face with you, haha!

Praise the Lord indeed after accepting Jesus, though hard times there are, but through out the year I met miracles after miracles, people after people, good mostly. Especially when my dad when for the heart surgery, God actually sent help for me in everyway and thank Him for answering my prayers and fulfilling my needs.

You know what, the only teacher who actually cared were the Christian teachers and they helped a lot. Financially especially. And my dad's surgery need 25k, and God blessed me with financial aid from the hospital! And my family received more than what I've asked for!

Use your imagination, coincidence? But why coincidences are put together in such miracle ways? And God is always the one keeping me sane throughout the hard time during my dad's surgery. The whole CF prayed for me, comforting me, helping me. Where will you have these kind of warmth when there is no God but reasoning everywhere? I cried to God because in fact I'm just so little and helpless. I experienced it first hand, I would like to give credit to God. If such miracle happened as in all "coincidences" are put together to help you, who would you thank? Coincidences?

Thank you very much for sharing your testimonies. I've a little something to say.

1st : I don't think "new" generation 10th KL are "civlilised" yet. There's still much to improve esp on leadership, confidence, maturity/responsibility in handling issues.

2nd : I was indeed transformed before. That was when I was in Form 3, however, I've not known God that time. My religion says it was the Buddha or deities that's protecting me. My mentor says it was God/Jesus that's guiding me, giving me wisdom.Some people also say it's because I've gone matured. However, I believe all were guiding me!!! All wanted the best for me! The transformation in F3 was a big one because if it wasn't because of that transformation, I wouldn't be speaking here with wisdom. I actually searched for the "reasons" for that particular transformation.

3rd : Miracles? Luck? Can you differentiate them for me?

4th : Maybe you've seen limited miracles for now. There're plenty of miracles in the world! Different religion has different miracles!!! If only God can perform miracles, why are there other miracles around? If they are evil spirits, why God didn't punish them straight into eternal damnation? Is it because God has no power when it comes to other beliefs?

5th : You need to understand that Christianity is considered the established religion, same goes to Islam. Whatever you feel now prolly you can feel it if you're a Muslim. Buddhism and other religions are not so fortunate but THERE ARE still people who would have qualities like what you feel in church. You cannot picture/assume a religion through it's desciples/followers because the desciples/followers are human being from different background. Buddhism no doubt is being twisted and turned that's and maybe they's why you can't see the goodness in the religion. No doubt there're people who rushes in the temple the be number one to pray without caring bout others. This is not the fault of religion but the fault of the upbringing of a person. You need to understand more on how things work. You wouldn't expect all Christians to behave like what you see, same goes to Muslim.

Besides that, the comforts that you received, it's very nice isn't it? those are the doings of human being showing care to you. Do you think that doesn't exist in devoted Buddhist? Do you think your UNDEVOTED CHRISTIAN friends will comfort you? It boils down to who you were encountering that moment. People's heart are the weakest when they have low energy and that's when their heart opens. (e.g An evidence for this is conman hunts for low energy people. That's how I got conned one day in times square when I was heartbroken that time). Instead of relying on the helps that you gained from other religion, why not you help to improvise it and implement in your own original religion? You wouldn't be speaking here if there wasn't enough organisations/establishments by Christianity to help explain things to you so that you start to nod heads on Christianity. Missionaries etc etc...

Sometimes it's hard to answer you because in Holy Books esp Al-Quran, Bible etc etc... DEAD FISH ALSO CAN BECOME ALIVE!

Booooring. Everyone is talking the same thing. Please, I got no intention in condemning any religion. But it is just a few culprits that their act sometimes I hate. I want to repeat myself, never be an extremist, or being addicted to religion. Just think why the booming continues. The apparent reason, they are addicted.

This is my opinion, (I want to stop posting all the same thing) I still loves what Karl Marx said, religion is nothing but drugs. And I agree that religion is politics. I don't think God in fairy tales exists. This world started with nothing but energy; Nothing can create this world, its a natural phenomena. Last but not least, religion is the essence or our life, we need religion. Its not a contradiction, but humans are like ape, they need religion.

One may choose to believe in any religion they like, as to make oneself have faith in whatever that you choose to believe...I think it is pointless to argue anymore about whether any religion exists, as evidences are there (cf. previous posts)...

As for atheists, I for one, is an atheist...I still do not belive in god, but it does not mean it is ok to condemn us people...We have faith that god do not exist, and this is our choice...

What a year. Gives the impression of another decade, another beginning which seems more important than any other new years because of the number 10 in it. 2010 seems so much more superior and impelling than 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 etc. Feels like a special starting point for the new phase in your life. Feels like just the right time to reconsider everything and make important plans. It's like you've reached the critical restructuring phase of your life.

And what on earth am I going to do about it?

Learn to shut up and drive perhaps? Short and sweet so yeah let me accomplish this for a start.

It's that time again - when you arrive at your own blog and begin typing "hiya it's been quite some time" into the post editor and then wondering whether you are getting cliche by the day. Perhaps. Probably because I am getting old enough to see the cliche.

7.34am and I'm typing away on my beloved laptop, after trying to get some work done. 7.35am and my brain can't already digest anymore jokes funny or otherwise. 7.36am and I'm still trying to figure out what to write in this post besides wafting in my blog.

Man my writing has deteriorated so much I feel myself avoiding writing anything. Min Hao you gotta learn how to overcome obstacles and improve on your shortcomings, not running away from them as much as you possibly could. It would just be a matter of time before having too much things to escape from, so it is time to take the bull by the horns and punch your way through Min Hao. Be a dick will ya.

I can't at all think now. Tiredness have begun eating into me and I don't even know whether that made any proper sense. Maybe not.

On a totally different note, I wish my dear brother scouts good luck on their campfire that they're having in a few hours. Best wishes from me!

I feel like blogging. Just because I haven't been doing so for like ages and I'd really like to type something. But I'm pretty good here. Alive and well and nothing much. Should I go for something more? This year has already thrown a few bricks at me, should I really wish for more? Here I am, a nineteen-year-old brat sitting in front of the library computer wondering why he feels devoid of something huge and much more bigger.

Moving my own butt is just so damned hard. And it just got harder these few days.

I wonder what do people normally do when they are alive. Ponder ponder ponder.

Looking back at year 2002 when I was a Form 1 boy studying in the afternoon session, I have already been enjoying my time in the troop room. I guess it just felt fantastic to have a place to hang around in school every morning where you could do your homework, chat, build gadgets, play "scout hockey" and tripod football, light up a fire and climb around. Kuan Jhun is the most memorable person here as he was my playmate at that time.

Moving on to Seniors, I enjoyed hiking a lot. From trekking Bishop's Trail to a 40km hike from Gohtong Jaya, I had lots of fun. And this is the time where I had the opportunity to crack my head over how much rice to bring and what to do during camps. Mistakes were made, lessons were learnt, but fun was the constant - it was just an incredible experience. And Alvin Kuan was the annoying Boy Scout who kept sticking to us! Joking, Alvin =D

Being a Rover - "Service" was the motto. I had the chance to contribute back to the group in the little ways that I could. And I enjoyed being able to do that =)

Summing all my thoughts up, I had a really fantastic time in 10th KL Air Scout Group, gained lots of friends who stick with you through thick and thin. This bonding has thus provided me a sense of belonging so strong that I would readily say "Once a scout, always a scout".

Should I say "I can't wait to get hold of this book!" or "I can't wait till the day when the fundamentalists finally get some sense knocked into their skull."?

Anyway watch this video on the introduction of the book:

No dramatic sound effects. No emotions involved. No scare tactics (eg. A Letter From Hell). Just pure reasoning laid bare for any acid tests. Enjoy.

I'm tired of "You are approaching it intellectually, but you have to feel it emotionally." because it is synonymic to "Be a little stupider, you'll get it.".

Before I forget, how come no mention of ISA or the Sedition Act when it comes to angry protests involving cow heads and Hindu temples? While for the civil discussion and questioning of certain sensitive issues..................Well. Enough said.
