Are you fed-up of High Cart-Abandonment Rates??

Shopping Cart Abandonment

Beginner’s Guide to Re-marketing:

Are you fed-up of High Cart-Abandonment Rates?? Its an absolute shame to lose customers !
The reasons could be anything from a haywire computer networks or to any other user activity like  spilling of coffee on the laptops!!! You don’t want such activities to stop any potential buyer from Abandoning Your Cart! Do you ??

Thanks to the Digital Gods for Re-Marketing!

This is a way how many advertisers who have been working with Google AdWords are completely unaware of its existence and how many great benefits stem from it.
For e -commerce, a new technique is “re-marketing” — using multiple touches to generate continued interest in the product.

What is Adwords Display Re-marketing??
If you’ve ever noticed that ads appearing on pages you visit online are extremely reflective of your interests, you’ve experienced re-marketing.
The channel used for targeting these users is simply the Adwords Display Network. The Display Network consists of websites that have AdSense ad blocks on their website.
Google AdWords uses a small cookie in users’ browsers in order to identify that they have visited your site previously and thereby enables you to target these users specifically.

Target users who are un-installing your digital product, cancelling a regular subscription or returning a tangible product after a free trial period. These are usually enticed with an offer they can’t refuse.

How does Re-marketing work??
(1) Create the Re-marketing Tag:
To begin you need to first start with a re-marketing tag within the Google Adwords.
The re-marketing tag is a small piece of JavaScript code, very much similar to the Google Analytics code, which you embed in the footer within your site.
The re-marketing tag goes on every single page of your website.

(2) Create Re-marketing Lists:
Upon successful integration of tags , one can easily create lists for product categories, specific pages, custom combination categories, and for the most used in re-marketing… for abandoned shopping cart users. You will then create lists based on sections of your site that people visit.

Get most out of re-marketing??
The peril with this type of marketing are the chances for users to become annoyed due to the “creepy” nature of ads following them around. However, if they were on the fence about an item, the ads can sway the consumer to make the purchase.
Static marketing is dead, and businesses of any size have to be creative to cut through the clutter.
I would like to recommend that you should control the amount of time your ad should be shown to a user on a daily basis. You certainly don’t want to stalk your customers

Re-marketing is something you should definitely explore .Its low cost-per-conversion and ease of use makes this something that you definitely want to include PPC Marketing Plan.

I would strongly recommend about 25% of your marketing budget towards a Successful Re-marketing campaign.

Men are From Twitter and Women are From Facebook !

sameSo who do you think runs the world of Social Media?? Lads or the Lassies??
Women are largely considered to be more expressive and willing to share.
Men, on the contrary, generally use social media to gather the information they need to build influence.

So is it true that Men are From Twitter and Women are From Facebook ??
Like they say , if you want to Get the Word out , tell a woman!Arguably enough , Social Media Curve has slanted more towards women! Sounds pretty damn cliché , doesn’t it? And almost a little gender-biased!
But from a e-commerce perspective, generalizations of women as gossipy or emotional seem to be working to our advantage.Women appear to be better at using social media for business and marketing purposes.

Analysis:
Recent studies suggest that almost 71% of Internet female users are active on one or more social media sites, compared to slightly less than 62 % of men.
This is Our take on the Famous Octavo Men are From Mars……! Each Month , 40million more women visit twitter than men ! Thats more than the entire state of California. Women on Facebook participate in 62% of the sharing.
Here’s a little Table to show just how they impact individually–

Social Media Site

Men Activity

Women Activity

  1. Youtube

25% of men watch Youtube Video Daily

Compared to 17% of Women

  1. Facebook

62% male users

71% users female users

  1. LinkedIn

54% active male user

46% active female users

  1. Pinterest

Meager 30%

Overwhelming 70% female users

  1. Google +

  • If you are the owner of an on-line store which caters largely to women products, you should use bright pictures of happy women faces making a purchase.
e.g. Organic Soap store is expected to attract a lot of women potential buyers
  • Alongside, If you cater a branded shoe type to Men, A Boot Sale showing a Smartly dressed man would get you the right type of sales lead for your online store.

We want to help you focus our company’s social efforts to match your customer’s behaviors:

1) Know Where Your Customers Spend Their Time:
Your online customers are spending a great amounts of time on social networks.
Whereas an average person might only spend 15-30 minutes per day, many people spend multiple hours each week.
Your strategic e-commerce marketing plan should include a steady dose of social media along with email and other marketing strategies that reach your target audience.

2) Find Content That Will Relate Deeply With Your Audience:
Some of the audience members make purchases, but most keep coming back just because they care about the content you are sharing.

3) It’s Time to Take Video Seriously
There’s been a stupendous increase in how long users watch a video (from 5 minutes to nearly 6 minutes). This may open the door for marketers looking to produce edutainment videos (combining education and entertainment to produce engaging videos that keep people engaged for long time).

4) Consider the Role of Mobile

  • Be sure your website is mobile-optimized
  • Create content that is easy to consume and respond to via mobile devices (shorter responses are better)
  • If your audience is business-oriented or located in the Asia/Pacific region, make sure to develop a mobile strategy

Social Networks are growing huger! So big, in fact, that many of them are competing in size with some of the largest countries in the world.
Apparently the Chinese social network QZone is even bigger than Facebook.

  • Facebook is bigger than Russia.
  • MySpace is pretty close in size to Mexico.
  • LinkedIn, Bebo and Xanga are bigger than Canada.
  • Considering Twitter’s strong growth, it won’t be long until it’s bigger than Sweden.
  • Orkut is larger (barely) than France.

Why do you think certain sites attract more males than females and vice versa?
We’d love to hear what you think, so please let us know in the comments.

Awareness about Some of these TERRIBLE Social Media Myths!

Social Media Myths

There’s Absolutely no dearth of these so called Social Media Experts”  !
I find it absolutely imperative to talk about these as they can dampen your social media branding in the long run .I want to throw light upon some Social-Media Myths and Truths prevalent in the e-commerce world. Also provide some relevant facts to counter-attack and revamp your marketing strategy.
.Lets find out some of them right now–

Myth No 1 :   Focus on FacebookOnly …
Fact
: ….or Linked-In … or Twitter … or social network XYZ.
Yes you definitely need to establish a social media platform for your e-commerce store. But none of these single sites are the Holy Grail !
I would say do some R & D with a few sites to start with. It is far more important to understand where your target audience hangs out and try to fit your marketing strategies around them.

Myth No 2 Use a tool that auto-publishes your posts to all social networks at once … to save time.
Fact
:  Yah ! We pay a huge amount of money to some of these amazing auto-bots or robots to get us through the grind easily.
Your audience, just like you , gets bored of these monotonous robotic updates!
But I would say said it’s okay to automate ‘some’ of your content sharing.
The reason being that different social media sites favor different types and frequencies of content.
For example, On Facebook, images perform fantastically well!
On the contrary , you can post much more frequently to Twitter than to Facebook than to Linked-In!
Sooner or Later you will have people who are following you on all three of these networks. How Obvious would your auto-post be when they see the same updates across all sites?

Myth No 3 Social media is the new SEO
Fact
:  This is such a popular disbelief!
Social Media does create the buzz for your brand. But in terms of Function and Strategy , it cannot replace SEO ! It is just is that – 2 marketing strategies working better when they are together!
You can’t convert followers into leads without landing pages and compelling offers.
SEO is a tool which will drive more people to your social networking platforms.

Myth No 4:   Email is Redundant !
Fact:  I have been on Facebook for the Past 7 years , 4 years on Twitter and Say about 3 on Linkedin and On and off 1/2 on Google Plus. None of this has ever stopped me from using my email accounts. Infact all email accounts are integrated on my smartphone and are always being checked , Ofcourse by me!
So, not 100% of your target clientele are using Social Media sites!
Some people still prefer the use of emails for communications . /
For e.g. Newsletter or exlcusive discounts cant always be revelead over Twitter!

Myth No 5You can’t simply ask people to comment, follow, or retweet you.
Fact :  Its not at all criminal to ask someone who is already reading your blog, or tweet or status updates to share it with the someone else.Adding a little- Please Share or Please Retweet only encourages the credible buyer to spread the word to his friends.

Myth No 6  : Agile Marketers Fail Bigtime!
Fact :  Have you ever been told that you can’t publish a blog post until an editor, SEO specialist, and lawyer approve it? Great – you shall get it out just in time for the Mayan Apocalypse.
Agile marketers publish more content and get more work done.Social Media is not a Machinery! It certainly needs more human interaction and Go-Getter Attitude.
So Dont be afraid to be Market your Store with a Little bit of agility.

I don’t want to talk only about all the Gloom Doom !
I will leave you a few tips which are easy to use and maintain .

QuickWins on Facebook:

  • Post tons of photos — they get the most likes and shares.
  • Photos also get a lot of comments, but text updates get slightly more.
  • Posts that are either very short, or very long have a higher percentage of likes.
  • Long posts also tend to have more shares — the sweet spot is between 400 and 500 characters.
  • Posts published on Saturdays and Sundays receive a higher percentage of likes than those posted during the business week

QuickWins on Twitter :

  • Write tweets between 120 and 130 characters for the most click-throughs.
  • Place links 25% of the way through your tweet for the best click-through rate.
  • Tweets with the words “via,” “@,” “rt,” “please,” and “check” have higher click-through rates than those without.
  • Write tweets with more action verbs, and fewer nouns to get more clicks.
  • Tweet on friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the best click-through rate, and later in the day instead of the morning

Have you heard any other terrible social media advice?
