Comics Trailer For Avatar

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Thu, 2 Jun 2011 02:12:00 -0700

As many of you know, in July a complete set of all of the Avatar: The Last Airbender comics will be released, including unreleased comics. We have found a trailer that has some of these unreleased comics from way back in 2009.

What Is Seen
The trailer begins with Zuko and Sokka in the Western Air Temple. Sokka asks Zuko if he recalls the old trailers Bryke used to do at comic con and asks if they should make a trailer of the new comics coming out. Zuko responds by asking why they should make a trailer, stating comics don't even have motion. Sokka looks at him with tears in his eyes. Zuko decides to play the trailer....

The first scenes are of Sokka in weird clothes in front of a multi-colored tent set up in the Western Air Temple. Aang eagerly runs toward the mysterious tent, but Sokka stops him and only Momo is allowed in. Katara, who is scowling, leads a dejected Aang away, angrily glancing at the tent. Later in the night,l the Team is watching the tent, which still houses Sokka.
Next, two scenes of Aang and Zuko practicing Firebending are shown.
The next scene is a flashback comic detailing an adventure of Kuzon and Aang. They are both climbing up a mountain. Kuzon reveals a map of the Fire Nation, with several dragons etched into it. A shot of a gold dragon is then seen.
Katara is seen running down a slope, asking what is going on. Sokka explains to her that a battle between Bumi and Toph is taking place. Toph and Bumi are having a stand off. Sokka rings a bell, and the battle begins. Sokka is seen cheering, Piandao's art is destroyed by the earthquakes. Jeong Jeong is thrown off balance.
Scenes from "Dirty Is Only Skin Deep".
Zuko and Sokka are seen having a sword fight, and Zuko apparently ends up victorious.
A shot of Kuzon and Aang. Some weirdly dressed strangers are holding a dragon egg. Another shot of the dragon. A giant flame is seen being shot down at Aang and Kuzon. Aang is seen holding the dragon egg. The dragon reappears, apparently angry at Aang.

Zuko's shocked face is shown and the trailer ends.avatar.wikia

Avatar Comic The Last Airbender Release

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Thu, 2 Jun 2011 02:04:00 -0700

Avatar Comic Release: May 7th, 2011

The Avatar Comic, Avatar: The Last Airbender; Free Comic Book Day, was releaased today. I am writing this blog to communicate the bulk of the stories to the Avatar Wikia community. The reason for this blog is to allow those who were unable to obtain the limited copy release to experience what Dark Horse has to offer to Avatar: The Last Airbender's fanbase.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender; Free Comic Book Day is a comic published by the famous, and one of my personal favorite publishers, Dark Horse. Dark Horse's credibility includes works from household entertainment developers such as SQUARE ENIX, and their well-known titles such as Final Fantasy. Knowing this, I expected quality and good imagery for the stories to be shared with this free publication, and that criterion was met through this comic.

The comic is 15 pages, with 10 pages dedicated to the unreleased story, Relics, and includes the ever popular already released comic, Dirty Is Only Skin Deep. Be warned, reading from here on out will contain spoilers of the contents of the story Relics, as the synopsis for Dirty Is Only Skin Deep is available at a variety of sites, including this Wikia.

Relics take place in what seems to be in the time between "The Deserter" and "The Northern Air Temple" in Book 1: Water. The bulk of the story consists of Aang, along with Sokka and Katara, replenishing supplies for their trip to the Northern Water Tribe. The story begins at a small trade village located at the summit of the mountains that appear to be in the vicinity of the Northern Air Temple. At this village, Aang comes across a pendant that is of the Air Nomads culture. Aang inquires from the merchant that the pendant was retrieved from homes carved in the mountains. Later, while Katara and Sokka are asleep, Aang sneaks off to the mountains alone to see whether or not the Air Nomads may be hiding away in these mountains, which they are familiar to.

During his short journey, Aang comes across a statue that signifies that Air Nomads were perhaps making residence in these mountains. Aang eventually comes to what seems to be carved in homes of the mountains ( very reminiscent to early civilizations ), but is surprised to find the merchant who sold him the pendant there. However, the merchant unveils himself to be a Fire Nation solider under Admiral Zhao, and they successfully capture Aang. Though the situation looks grim, Zhao's success is short-lived.

The most interesting and informative end of the comic is the background of the territory Aang is in, provided by Zhao. Zhao enlightens Aang that Sozin used these mountains to lure survivors of the Air Nomads genocide, spreading rumors across the land that survivors had created these caves as a haven to protect them from Sozin. However, there Sozin would have them ambushed so that he succeeded in eliminating all Air Nomads. In conclusion to Zhao's story, he shatters the pendant that Aang had in his possession ( which brings forth that the pendant Aang wore during the finale is not the same one seen in this comic ). Aang, floored by this information, takes a cultural response to Zhao's degrading backstory, using the Air Nomads' relics to win his freedom and incapacitate Zhao's ambush.

Relics come to a conclusion with Aang returning to the camp Katara and Sokka reside at, where both Southern Water Tribe cadets are frantically looking for Aang. The comic ends with an emotional scene, where Katara finds Aang emotionally distraught. The specific lines stated are:

Katara: This place reminds you of home, right? All these mountains... Airbenders would have loved to stay here. They would have been attracted to this place.

Aang: Yeah. A few of them probably were.

As Relics acts as a pre-cursor to the stories to come in 2012, I can only imagine the beautiful imagery coupled with the strategic emotional appeal these comics will provide to Avatar: The Last Airbender fan base. Thus, my patience is tested and my love for Avatar: The Last Airbender has been reignited. avatar.wikia

Voice of Momo and Appa

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 6 May 2011 01:06:00 -0700

Dee Bradley Baker (voice of Momo and Appa) recently revealed that he will be playing more than one part in Avatar: The Legend of Korra. We had known that he would be voicing a character for the upcoming mini-series, but now we know a bit more about just what Baker will be voicing. According to a reply Baker made on his Twitter account, the seasoned voice-actor will be voicing an actual person in addition to Korra’s animal.

Fan speculation has been that Korra will have an animal transport friend similar to Roku's dragon, Fang, or Aang's sky bison, Appa. Just what type of animal Korra will have is anybody's guess, as is what human character Baker will be voicing. But that can't keep us from speculating.

Legend of Korra Voice Cast Announced

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 6 May 2011 00:58:00 -0700

Wall Street Journal has written a follow up article to their Korra reveal from yesterday that announces the main cast list for The Legend of Korra. Here it is:

Janet Varney as Korra
Kiernan Shipka as Jinora
Daniel Dae Kim as Hiroshi Sato
David Faustino as Mako
Seychelle Gabriel as Asami
Lance Henriksen as Lieutenant
P.J. Byrne as Bolin
JK Simmons as Tenzin

Some -- if not most -- of those names should sound fairly familiar to you. Seychelle Gabriel was Princes Yue in live-action movie The Last Airbender. Daniel Dae Kim was General Fong in the Avatar: The Last Airbender and Jin from the TV series Lost. David Faustino you might know from Married With Children. Kiernan Shipka plays Sally from Mad Men. And JK Simmons you should recognize from the Spider-Man films, etc. All in all a pretty impressive main cast. What do you think?

Avatar: Legend of Korra

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Fri, 22 Apr 2011 12:22:00 -0700

Avatar: The Legend of Korra is primarily rooted in only one region. This location is Republic City, a steam-punk style metropolis where people of all nations, benders and non-benders, live together. The city is ridden with rapant crime and is rattled by an anti-bender revolt, which serve as challenges for the characters in the show.

I love avatar,.

Because the story and characters from the movie Avatar "Avatar The Last Airbender" made me curious, and grooves that are not boring.

Call Aang. naughty little bald man, with a plain character like most kids. Aang sometimes very careless behavior, that's the nature of the air.

You know Sokka? .. yes.! .. ahahhaa .. He always makes me laugh, so he foolishly.

The story and characters that makes this film Avatar natural.

Korra in my imagination

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Sat, 12 Mar 2011 10:31:00 -0800

The figure of a woman who usually gentle now on destined to any extraordinary abilities.

The first course he is controlling the water, because in the story that spread " korra derived from water control group. " Perhaps just as Aang once, who did not realize the power hidden inside him. Can imagine a woman with the ability to control the four elements, water, air, earth and fire, whether it will change into a woman's personality is frightening that the fear or even it all covered so that it looks like an ordinary person.

Korra like calm water in the ocean, .. which stores a mystery avatar name the controlling four elements.

Can not wait to wait to watch hopefully the story can be like "Avatar The Last Airbender: Aang, "or I expect to be able to enjoy the story more than the previous version of Avatar ..

Who will be his opponent? ...

Movie Plot

noreply@blogger.com (Unknown) — Sat, 22 Jan 2011 12:12:00 -0800

The series will focus on Korra, a teenage female protagonist from the Southern Water Tribe and the current incarnation of the Avatar, who, according to the president of Nickelodeon, will be "hotheaded, independent, and ready to take on the world. She has already mastered the elements of Water, Earth, and Fire, but needs to master Air. The character was partly inspired by Avatar Kyoshi of the original series, whom the creators say was very popular among fans. In order to avoid repetition of Aang's adventures, the creators wanted to root the show in one place, called Republic City. A concept drawing of the city, released with the announcement of the series, shows the city's design as inspired by Shanghai in the 1920s and 1930s, Hong Kong, Manhattan, and Vancouver. In the show, Korra will have to learn Airbending from master Tenzin, son of Avatar Aang and Katara, and contend with an anti-bender revolution taking place in the city.

Unlike the previous series, Avatar: The Legend of Korra is primarily rooted in only one region. The city is ridden with rapant crime and is rattled by an anti-bender revolt, which serve as challenges for the characters in the show.
