I have gotten to know the Burk family over the past two years through our school community, and they are genuinely wonderful. Each one of their kids is such an individual unique personality, and yet still fully a piece of the Burk puzzle. They just all fit together perfectly, and having an opportunity to capture some images of them this fall was a treat for me. We even convinced Mike’s dad to join in for a few with his grandchildren, something I know the kids will appreciate having as they grow into adulthood.

We have been enjoying another gorgeous autumn here in the south, and as always it has been so fun for me to be able to be out experiencing it with so many beautiful families. May your Thanksgiving season be filled with love, bountiful moments of gratitude and endless laughter my friends.

Today’s family are familiar faces to the blog this time of year. I always love and appreciate reconnecting with the Harris family each fall to see how the kids have grown and personalities blossomed. As I prepared to meet up with them again in October, I recalled last year’s shoot when they were fresh parents to three having just welcomed the newest Harris baby home a few months prior. At the time my own family was on the precipice of doing the same, and Jennifer and Regan graciously gave me insights into what we could expect making such a transition. Now a year later, it was fun to meet up again and swap a few stories and knowing tidbits, as only parents can. Harris family, you are always a bright spot in my calendar – thank you for sharing your time with me again this fall!

My friend Allison is an incredibly talented writer, teacher and performer, not to mention super creative making our session so fun. Working with other artists always helps inspire and remind me what it is that draws me to photography, and I walked away from our time with a full heart and camera of images I love. I am happy to share a few of them with you today.

I had the privilege of meeting the Thomas family through some other clients, and so enjoyed being able to photograph them this fall. Their little men were the cutest in their blazers not to mention some of the most well-mannered kids I have worked with. Thank you Thomas family- enjoy your images!

After taking an extended break in blogging here on my photography blog, I thought I’d return to share some of the fall sessions for 2012, starting with the super fun Martin family. Autumn in Tennessee is my very favorite, every year never failing to inspire or conjure up immense gratitude for living amongst such beauty. 2012 has been no exception, and I have loved watching the landscape change daily as I have been out capturing so many wonderful families. New things on the horizon my friends, but aren’t there always? If we keep moving, no matter the pace, the horizon will forever hold an altered landscape. As we shift from the hot of summer to the crisp of fall, the fog around my own slowed pace is clearing every so slight. Just enough to remind me of the new ahead. I had to make sure to post a few images from another of my favorite fall sessions before closing out the year, especially considering it was with some of our longest loved friends, the Kowns. My friendship with Robyn quite honestly deserves its own blog, as anyone with a soul-friend can attest to. The stories and experiences we share fill volumes and hours. Our families will forever be linked regardless of zipcodes and schedules, and it was a gift for me to be able to capture these images of them this fall.

Local friends, Tomorrow I will be showcasing and selling some of my fine art work at the 9th annual Barn Boutique in Franklin, TN.
