Google has added support for 18 new languages for Google Drive.

That brings up the total number of languages supported by Google Drive to 65.

The 18 languages which have been added are: (listed alphabetically)

5. Estonian
6. French (Canada)
7. Galician
8. Icelandic
9. Khmer
10. Lao
11. Malaysian

18. Zulu

How to change the language in Google Drive :

If you use English as your default language but want to switch to another language, click on the Gear icon on the right.

Select Settings and wait for the page to load.

Click on the dropdown list beside the word: Language and select the one you want to use.

Click on save to apply the new settings and that’s it.

The new languages are also available in Docs, Sheets, and Slides

As we reported sometime back that Blackberry Messenger BBM is soon coming to Android and iOS. It seems that we are pretty near the final release of Blackberry Messenger BBM for both Android and iOS making it a cross platform app and breaking its exclusivity of Blackberry Platform.

The hint comes from the official verified account of T-MOBILE UK which tweeted about the availability of Blackberry Messenger on Android and iOS on June 27th.

We are still not sure due to one simple reason that it would have been more reliable if the tweet has come first from Blackberry directly instead of a Service provider or carrier. But fingers crossed and hopefully we will have BBM on our devices even if they are not BlackBerry.

Amazon has finally arrived in India. Amazon Seller Services Private Limited, an Amazon.com company, today announced the launch of it’s marketplace in India, www.amazon.in   with seller programs – ‘Selling on Amazon’ and ‘Fulfillment by Amazon’. The speculation about the launch had already started with the launch of Junglee.com by Amazon.

Amazon India at the moment has started with Books, Movies & TV shows video products only but additional categories including Mobile Phones and Cameras will be introduced in the coming weeks.

Based on the location of your city, Amazon promises to deliver the order in either 2-4 Business Days or 5-10 Business Days under its Fulfilled by Amazon program where Amazon sends the orders directly to customers. Orders worth   499 INR or more are eligible for FREE shipping i.e without any charges. For orders less than   499, you will be charged   49 per package for delivery. However, for a limited period at the moment the delivery is FREE for all items Fulfilled by Amazon.

Popular note taking service Evernote has just announced some big security features for its Evernote service. These security additions are two-step verification, authorized applications and access history. These new security feature are announced after the recent security breach of Evernote services sometime back which resulted in service wide password reset for all its users worldwide.

Two-Step Verification ( Available to Premium, Business users only)

Two step verification or authentication is one of the most sought after security feature for any web service and is already implemented by Google, Outlook.com, Twitter and many other web services to protect their users data.

This works in the same way as Google two step authentication. Six-digit verification code is delivered to mobile phone either via a text message or can be generated by an smartphone app such as Google Authenticator.

The sad part here is, this two step verification is only available to Evernote Premium and Business users only and Free users still need to wait for some time (No ETA)  to get this feature. Apart from that, it is not enabled by default. Users need to set it up or enable it.

This feature can be enabled by visiting the security section of your Evernote Web Account Settings.

Authorized Applications and Access History

Even these two features are similar to Google’s security features. Authorized Applications features let you revoke access of Evernote apps or any other version using your Evernote Web Account Settings which leads to logout from the app and the app will request a password again the next time you use it.

Similarly, Access history feature gives you details of all your access of Evernote service using different devices or apps helping you keep track of it and easily identifying any unauthorised access.

These two features are available to all users including free accounts.

As speculated last week over the web, Google has announced a new Gmail Inbox bringing better controls with simple, easy organization of the loads of emails that usually lands in our Inboxes. This brand new Gmail is rolling out slowly to users across the web on desktop and mobiles including Android & iOS.

The new Inbox lets you easily customize the new inbox into different categories or tabs like:

• messages from friends,
• social notifications,
• deals and offers,
• confirmations and receipts, and
• more

Apart from the categorization of the emails as stated above, some of the other things that you can do with the new inbox are :

•  select tabs you want to have from all five to none,
• drag-and-drop to move messages between tabs,
• set certain senders to always appear in a particular tab
• star email messages to make them appear in the Primary tab.

Similarly for mobile devices on Android and iOS, similar enhancements like different categories or tabs and other features are being rolled out to the Android and iOS Gmail Apps.

It will take few weeks for the full rollout and you should keep an eye on keep an eye on the gear menu on the GUI and look for Configure inbox option when it appears in the Settings options.

Starting today, Twitter has rolled out the two factor authentication to twitter accounts. Similar to Google and Outlook two step authentication, Twitter accounts too will now need another verification code apart from your existing password (if the security feature is enabled). This verification code is based on Twitter via SMS and a verification code will be sent to your Phone as a SMS whenever you login to twitter account using your existing user name and password.

Enable Twitter two step authentication via SMS

1. Visit account settings page.
2. On the settings page, select the option “Require a verification code when I sign in.”
3. After that click on the link to “add a phone” if you have not added a phone to your account and follow the prompts.
4. After you enroll in login verification, you’ll be asked to enter a six-digit code that you will receive on your phone via SMS each time you sign in to twitter.com.

Not available to everyone

To start using this feature, you must have a verified phone number with your twitter account apart from a verified email address. The whole problem here is, You cannot add a phone number to your account and verify it unless your Carrier is supported by Twitter. So at the moment, this feature is not going to available to many users including me as my carrier is still to get officially supported by Twitter. Hence, I can not use the two factor authentication for my account.

It would have been a great feature if instead of SMS only, the verifications codes could be generated by any app similar to Google Authenticator. Also, it would have enabled every single user to use two step authentication using an app instead of waiting for the carrier arrangements which obviously going to take long long time as there are loads of carriers around the world and everyone may not be friendly to twitter.
