Pinetop-Lakeside — A former town clerk of Pinetop-Lakeside will spend one year in prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than $32,000 from the town.

40-year-old Leah Chavez was sentenced on Wednesday morning. She pleaded guilty to one count of Theft, and one count of Misuse of Public Monies.

KINGMAN- Amanda Lee Doyle, the leader of a now-defunct Mohave County illegal opioid distribution ring, was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison, followed by four years supervised probation to begin upon her release from prison.

Back in May 2018, Doyle plead guilty to three counts: Fraudulent Schemes & Artifices, Attempted Acquisition of a Narcotic Drug by Fraud, and Attempted Computer Tampering.

Former Registered Nurse Accused of Taking Narcotic Drugs Intended for Patients

PHOENIX — Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted former Registered Nurse Danielle Lynn Langham on 23 drug diversion related offenses.

Investigators say 44-year-old Langham worked at a Scottsdale surgery center where she tampered with and diverted narcotic medications (Fentanyl and Dilaudid) from vials on hand at the surgery center. It was further alleged that she was diverting the prescription drugs for her personal use and that she refilled the vials with sterile saline to avoid getting caught.

PHOENIX – Attorney General Mark Brnovich filed a motion to intervene in a pending federal appeal Friday in a continuation of his efforts to stop improper serial lawsuits filed by Mr. Peter Strojnik against Arizona businesses.

U.S. District Court Judge Murray Snow recently dismissed 15 of these suits and consolidated the rest for an appeal to the Ninth Circuit. The Attorney General’s motion to intervene in this appeal is part of his broader efforts to protect Arizona businesses by shutting down Mr. Strojnik’s abusive litigation tactics.
