Priorities.. priorities..

There are times that I completely go astray of the goals I have set my mind with. Once I caught myself this way, I have to remind myself over and over again my priorities before the addiction imprisons me. Sometimes I wonder if I am trying to escape or just entertaining myself.

I am not getting younger, yet my mind set is frozen in time. It still craves the fun and excitement of online gaming. Though I think of it as a sweet treat after a hard days work, but in reality this is not what I really needed. I would then ask myself "What I am trying to accomplish?". It surely is fun, but the accomplishments are non-tangible.

This addiction has been going on and off, and my battle still continues up to this day. Hopefully, someday I'll get over it - I need to wake up.

Spirit Tales: Koko_Kitty and KyLilith

Here are my Spirit Tales Online characters Koko_Kitty(Pyromancer, the one riding a fox) and KyLilith(Saint, the one with the penguin). I thought this game is for keeping. But the December 31, 2014 patch totally destroyed the game's economy, and the resolution they made are in favor of the abusers. It ends up adding more wounds to a dying game. Goodbye for now Spirit Tales, I hope you'll recover soon.

The Consequences

I realized that (we) getting married early have its pros too.

We were forced to grow up and mature early - no more childish tantrums. We learned to value every penny earned, and learned the difference between wants and needs. We learned to think not only for own selves but for us - the family we created. We learned to hold on and be strong.

It has been 13 years. It surely is a rough road, especially for 18-year old young adults. But the travel is all worth it, knowing that you are with your most favorite person in the world, holding your hand along the way and carried you when the road got tough.

Life dramas, and surprises will always be there. It's how you handle them and your reaction to these kind of life situations is what matters.

Spirit Tales Online

I have a soft spot for cute stuffs, and one of them is an online game "Spirit Tales". We (me and hubby) played this game on its release, around April or May 2012, but we quit after 2 weeks of playing due to lots of players using bots. Then about 3 months ago, we started off from scratch with new characters and got hooked up with it again.

The problem is that..

It has a very small, and not-so friendly community.
Outdated forums.
Can't find all the info you need on the net or in their official website, or even by asking other players.
Skill tree and the skill calculator application have some wrong/incomplete descriptions. You have to try it to yourself if they are really worth getting. But resetting skills for free is up to level 30 only, so beyond that you need "Waters of Lethe". An item able to reset your skills which is very costly, about 400~500 gold.

But the good side..

There's are a lot of things to do. Either you focus on getting rich by farming family intimacy, collecting silver points, farming for pets or items, and or be on the top of the rankings.
Too many characters to explore and experience. (12 characters ATM, 9 characters still not released)
Weekly events and updates.
So cute!

This is my character Koko_Kitty, a Pyromancer. Created last May 30, 2014 and proudly got her to level 70 last July 19, 2014 without the use EXP orbs, or leeching EXP from other characters. :)

But there is already so much in here that I want to keep, and when there's an urge to vent, or a place to dump my artworks, I can always post them here. August 21, 2014. Found out that my pen tablet had stopped working, and that tiny red ants had already made it their colony. It has been like ages since I last used it. These past months I find myself not wanting to draw anymore - there were so much time in hand, but no passion to do so, so I ditched it somewhere. Until my son borrowed it, that's when we found out about the ants. Hubby tried to fix it, but failed. I think it's already in a state wherein it is beyond repair. :(

I won't be able to do digital drawings anymore until I buy a new one, or I had to go back with "mouse + SAI" again.

Tuesday, February 11 = work deadline, yet no internet connection!! This started after a sudden blackout at 4AM, can no longer connect to the internet, and no dial tone on the phone either.

I was so furious, that I ended up doing this – my OC, Lili.

Also, here’s another thing that happened earlier that day. This is nothing new, but this doesn’t always happen though – only when it rains hard.

We have this old lady who help us with the laundry, and she visits once every 2 weeks on Tuesdays. I don’t know what power she possesses, but every time she’s here, it always rains! She was also here during the October 15 earthquake, and this flood too!

It was already Friday night when we had our internet connection back, and I was flooded with emails, and backlogs.. :(

Rescued Cat #23: Chinito

While my son was walking on his way home from school today, he found this man carrying a plastic bag with a crying kitty inside it. My son asked him what is he gonna do with it, and then the man replied that he is going to throw the kitty away. My son then asked him to let him have it instead.

And here's what we found inside the plastic bag:

Dirt, hairs and plastic (candy wrapper) stuck on his right eye.

Until my hubby bathe him..

We really thought that his right eye was completely damaged and is blind, but it was only due to eye infection.

And here he is now.. :)

A Cat’s Soul Is Always True

I was already expecting it, but still I was hopeful.

Today, we found him.

Lifeless, and bloated.

He had been missing for 3 days, and then there he is.

Words can’t express it.

The loss of yet another pet.

Luya, Agta, Yoda, Ditto, Ditta, and now Lilo..

And wherever you are, Chino, Michonne, Mimosa, Michta, Mila, hope you’re in good hands, and hope you’ll find your way home soon.

Utang Na Loob

Until when is this "utang na loob" (debt of gratitude) will be paid? What is the payment, and why do we owe one?

Mostly in the Philippines it's like this: every time someone do you a favor, you will then get this debt of gratitude automatically. Yes, AUTOMATICALLY! Even the moment you were born, you'll get this "utang na loob" or "utang kabubut-on" in our dialect.

Why is it that saying your thanks wholeheartedly is never enough to some people? Repaying them with kindness is not enough. They would then demand you like a boss, to do this, or do that, like you owe them the world, and then use this "utang na loob" thing as a bribe.

Some would say, "not all can be repaid by money". Yes it's true, but why would you want something in return, and what kind of payment do you want? Remember the reasons why you did it in the first place. If it's because of love or for the sake of family, and you're feeling bitter now because they are not returning the favor, then learn to love unconditionally, and learn to love yourself better.

When I do free artworks, or do anyone a favor, a simple thanks is good enough for me. I don't want them licking my butt after that. Nor I want to be licking someone else's butt!

When I give or help, I do it simply because I'm happy doing it, and I want to help you, and NOT because I want to get your "utang na loob", so you would pay me back later on.

The best thing to do, is to avoid having to do with anything with these kind of people.

You can call me greedy, self-centered, wa'y utang kabubut-on and other foul words you can think of, I really don't care. I have enough of this mentality, and these kind of people who uses "utang na loob" to guilt you.

"Jack-of-all-trades" is the term that always comes up in my mind when you say "Virtual Assistant". From very simple data entry tasks, to research, to lead generation, writing, graphics, web designs, managing, to very complicated tasks.. you name it. Expanding your field is the key to stardom. :)

For beginners, or for those that haven't experienced working online, the best way for you is to try out small tasks. Bidding low is fine, but don't go too low like people from Pakistan and India that bid to as low as $0.10 per hour just to get the job. Maintain your self-value, but don't be too picky - explore the unknown. Remember that you are a newbie - you need this to get the experience, and to build up your profile at the same time.

And once you're at it, here are some things that every VA should remember:

- Follow the guidelines properly, when in doubt, don't hesitate to ask

- Be responsive
- Be responsible

- Ensure the quality of your work

- Submit your reports on time

- Avoid absences

- If you really need a leave, inform your boss first, not after!
- When it's a non-working holiday in your country or any other holidays, this does not mean that your boss is in holiday too. So report for duty on holidays, unless if you are advised not to

- Manage your time properly, e.g. separate Facebook time from work time

- Work as if you own the company

- Remember your boss is always right, so respect your boss's decision

- Invest in your own time to learn more

- And most of all, love your job

- If you don't like your boss or your job, then do a graceful exit - be professional enough to send a formal letter of resignation, and don't just disappear without saying anything.

And don't you just love it when your boss appreciates your work, and can't get enough of you? Here are some of the best messages I received from my previous and current employers:

Sometimes I Wish The World Would Stop

Petting our cats is one way of relaxing myself, and one of my self-excuses to take a break from work - from hours of staring at the monitor. During these moments, all I wish for is for the world to stop even for some minutes, so I could enjoy the moment longer - staring at the walls and ceiling while petting a purring cat.. and before I knew it, I have already fallen asleep.

7 Cats Neutered

Finally, 7 of our cats are already neutered. Namely: Renji, Hitler, Deux, Meap, Mewt, Bingkol and Michtwo. The 6 males have their wounds healed already, while the she one (Michtwo) is still on the process of healing.

We really can't get 3 of our older male cats (Renji, Hitler and Deux) to get along. We can't even have them in one room, or else it's really going to be a very big cat fight, so we have to separate them. Having them neutered really worked like magic! A day after the operation they started behaving like close friends, and even greeted each other with nose-to-nose rubs. :)

Dog Person VS Cat Person

Being raised into a household of cat haters, it has been instilled in me since childhood that cats are pests and not pets. So I grow up with this thing in mind. What my folks are really fond of are dogs, same goes for the majority in the neighborhood. So I too grew up to be one of those people that prefer dogs than cats, until we (me and my hubby) started welcoming abandoned cats into our home.

When we had our first cat, I really don't have any idea what to do with him, we even thought he was a she at first. Thanks to Google and to all the people on the net who have shared their understanding about cats, that we have come to understand ours.

Based on observations and experiences that I've had from dealing with different kind of people, I realized that you can classify them into two: one that prefers dogs, and one that prefers cats and how is it related to their personalities. [DISCLAIMER] I repeat, this is based from my observations and experiences alone. This may not hold true for all, but in most cases it does.

The one that prefers dogs - most of them love to be treated as masters, or the dominant one, and they want to be always in command. They are more sociable, enthusiastic, extroverted, forceful, assertive, manipulative, more conscientious and would love to be always with their peers, and they tend to go more with the traditional interests. Most of these people, when they give, they expect you give something in return, same with most dog owners (especially here in the Philippines), they feed them in exchange that the dog will guard their homes.

While those that prefer cats - they interact less socially, introverted, curious, self-contained, more creative, less traditional, unaggressive, straightforward, and they are more open to unusual ideas, or things that are beyond the norm. Most of them, when they give they don't expect anything in return. This is the same as with raising cats, cats don't guard the house, they do no work, but eat, play, sleep, pee, and poop, but you still feed them. They may hunt the mouse in your house, but they are not doing that to please you, but to please themselves, but whatever naughty things they do, you still love them for what they are.

Now with the rant..

As a cat person, the definition above holds true for me, and I define my treatment to our cats and to my own son as unconditional love. I did not raise my son in the hopes that he will continue on with my dreams and would care for us—his parents when we grow old. I am not expecting anything from him in exchange for all the things we did for him. Being able to share his life with ours is more than enough for me.

I really hate it when some parents say that: "Whatever you do, you can't repay us for having you born into this world." Haven't these parents realize that it wasn't the child's desire to be born? And that they have all the responsibilities for that child for bringing him here without his consent, and not the other way around?

These are the kind of parents that invest on children. Manipulating and implanting their little minds with fear, dominance, and then give them a soul-bound responsibility of caring for them when they get older. So that when these children grow up, and gets a job, they will then get to live the life they wanted. This trait is very common among Filipinos, and sadly, I'm one of the products. These parents love to infuse fear rather than working on gaining their children's respect.

Instead of having-children-so-that-they-may-someday-make-you-rich-and-care-for-you mentality, I'd rather invest my time, effort and money, and raise them to their fullest potential for their future and not mine. And I won't expect anything in return from my children, because I raised them as my children and not as an investment.

It felt like ages since I last ranted. Anyhow, here's a new one.

Before some ranting, I want to start with some updates and changes that I'm planning to do.

For this year I had already listed a lot of things that I wanna change or improve, and thus include this blog. (Typing this like a boss, forgetting how lazy I can be, even updating a single status update on my FB wall is too tiresome.. But blogging is another story - it's for my reading amusement in the years to come, so better add more :P)

First, I am thinking of changing the title. CHIBIHOLIC is no longer appropriate since I am not that active or I rarely draw anymore. Like I said, my pen tablet is now residing in my son's room. Though I still love chibis, and I still have urges to draw every now and then, but I have more important things to tend to now.

And a new layout perhaps, though I still haven't got tired watching of these moving clouds in my blog.

And since I'm no longer into drawing, nor gaming, so maybe go on with topics that I am now in focus with, such as cats and working online, something that fits my age. ^_^ Ah yes, a topic more on cats - and I'm gonna introduce to you all our cats, and it's gonna be a very long list. :) Well, you see, I'm a cat person, and of course I love cats, and I'd be with cats rather than socializing with people, and I'd adopt abandoned cats rather than having another person live in our house.

With the gaming life, I still play Grand Chase PH though, every now and then, just for the sake of getting a complete attendance (getting the items in particular for these lousy mini-events). BTW, we tried playing RAN Online again a couple weeks ago, it was exciting at first due to the mountains of changes you need to learn, but then we realized in the end that the first years were still the best experience we've had with this game. Now, it's more on getting boosted on - no more socializing, and challenging stuff. You'll just stand there while waiting for your character to level-up until it can stand on it's own, it's more on spoon-feeding. To make your character powerful and to make it level-up fast - you need to buy this and that. Well, what I'm trying to say is, it's not fun anymore - and it felt really empty.

Now on ranting..

As I grow older, I have come to realize that socializing with other human beings is not important anymore. What's important for me is the bond that I have with the people that matters to me. And with this state of mind, other people's opinion about me does not matter anymore except if that person matters to me. But how I treat people all depends on how they treated me, and how they treated the people that matters to me. If you treated us like shit especially those days where we really have none to give, then expect BIG SHIT from me, and the HELL I care!

I hate how people can be so egoistic, on how they force their point of view to you, on how they want to dictate on how you are feeling, on how they want you to turn off your hatred against them to make way of their pleadings.

I don't know what kind of eff is this, but even your very own blood will drag you down in their dreaded, stagnant life, and they are NEVER happy of any of your achievements. So I'd rather be talking to cats than starting a conversation with these kind of people.

Grand Chase Chibi Fan Art: Ley

Got hooked up with Grand Chase again, and I have now Ley as my main character. This artwork is a product of no internet connection for days after the typhoon Yolanda. But I love to draw her again wearing her new Gacha set - Marionette Gacha. I got it as a first prize from the Lucky Gacha Event last November 11 - which happens to be my birthday too!

And this is how my Ley looks like with the Marionette Gacha set. It was indicated that the first prize contains the armor and accessories set + the Momo and Annie card.. but I did not received the pet card. I have already reported it to the customer support though, and I'm still waiting for their reply.

My bb also now have Ley as his main character, and he also won the Lucky Gacha Event - the 3rd prize which contains the armor set. :) Can't wait to see his character wear it. His Ley needs 2 levels more, and we'll be like twins!

WARNING: sleepy blogger + random updates

I can't believe how lazy I am for not posting even just one single post for the month of August, I even greeted September late. Many things happened these past months, though my life is still the same, same lifestyle, still a big night owl, and still a lazy blogger.

I haven't touched my pen tablet since June, and it has been residing on my son's room since last month, though I have not seen any update from his blog - I guess he's just like me!

I also found a new company (I mean addiction).. well, I treat it as a company! It accompanies me while I'm busy working, and most of the time it soothes the boredom away, and motivates me to wake up early to check on it (this aside from the gut feeling I always have from my online job when someone needs me urgently). What I'm talking about is "Ikariam". I'm back on Ikariam! I was so newb back then on my Alpha server days. I'm just glad to be back. I am now on my 41st day on Tau server (I started last August 1), and now with 43k+ total score. I also have an account on Ypsilon server and currently belong to the top 50 TS (23rd as I'm typing this). The main reason why I got hooked up with it is that it does not need that much time and attention - you can leave it and then continue with other important matters. It is somehow the same with Utopia - another browser strategy game that I got addicted with way back 2001 and 2007.

Yesterday I sent an email to our local government about my concerns on the growing population of stray cats and dogs in our city, and the maltreatment they received from the heartless people around them. I am hoping that they'll open their hearts and budget for the suggestion I gave them (fingers crossed).

I have been craving for fish meat since last week, and I finally got to go to the market earlier today, and when I got back all our cats went crazy!!
