After your revolutionary amble, the kids and parents will be ready to discover one of the jewels of local life, the famous Marché d’Aligre− a fabulous covered market. With a tour of the market, your guide will introduce you to the art of French living with tips on how to navigate the market and a visit to your guide’s favourite cheese stand. After a few small tastings, there will be a visit to a traditional boulangerie to sample the delicious pastries on offer. Your guide will teach the kids to order in French giving them a real experience of local life.

You prefer the Champs-Elysées? so well-known by anyone that each of us is walking on one day or the other. At the bottom of it, enter PointWC, the luxury public toilets. Have a look to the shop and enter one of the cabin, each one is decorated differently. And there’s there, of course, parent-child cabin for changing baby.

For a different neighborhood atmosphere and whether you were playing with kids in Jardin Villemin or walking along the Canal St Martin (10the arrondissement), go few steps aside and push the door of Poule Mouillette, a 100% family-friendly tea-room – shop – workshops place.

In the 18th arrondissement, an artistic place is also organized to welcome families with baby: Halle St Pierre, ideally located at bottom of Sacré Coeur. In this museum, you can visit Naive Art exhibitions, enjoy the library with great selection of books and have a coffee or tea and cakes break in its café.

And last of the selection, a store dedicated to cloth diapering: ApiNapi is located in the 12th arrondissement . Beside a full range of cloth diapers, you can shop there a full set of useful baby products.

Petit Palais is the Art Museum of city of Paris. In a superb building, it hosts collections from Antiquity till begining of 20th century…and as (almost) all museums managed by the City of Paris, its entrance to permanent collections is free (entrance fees for temporary exhibitions and workshops).

Located in the heart of the building, the café Le Jardin du Petit Palais offers a large room soberly decorated. Its menu shows drinks, light meals and snacks all day long. And, depending on the weather, you’ll be able to enjoy a table in the garden.

The café does not have high chairs (but there is room enough to install the stroller next to you). No baby changing facilities neither in the museum (only a “large table” with no changing mat in the Ladies restroom on floor 0…).  Too bad…

On Saturday, April 13th, children will be able to practice ‘painting without subject or model, freely’ same way as in L’Atelier (advance registration needed) and their parents will be able to visit the exhibition with Sandrine guiding them (in French only).

Rue de Lévis in the 17th arrondissement (but also in the 9th, in Asnières-sur-Seine – the 1st shop created- ,in St Germain en Laye, Levallois-Perret and Boulogne-Billancourt), you’ll find a pretty shop with children dinnerware, toys, decoration, fancy dresses, soft toys…) and workshops for children and mums to be.

Even if most workshops are doable on yearly registration only, the 17th arrondissement shop plans an occasional “Atelier des petits” (toddler workshop) for 18 months – 3 year old children, every 2 weeks and for wich content changes each time (baby gym, masks, painting…).

For the “older ones” (3 year old and above), a “atelier surprise” (surprise workshop) every wednesday PM (creative worshop, science workshop, cooking…) to wich each one can participate occasionally.

A nice place for an indoor activity with kids while visiting Paris with toddlers or older children.
