This 6-Track ep entitled « Self Construction » is a killer project, rather raw but really intense according to its accelerated beats straight up inspired by the Detroit productions. More sharp & better organized than his last albums, this EP distills some pure & trippy productions highlighting the SOUNDEX PHONETIC’s abilities. The Mexico-based producer G13CK has launched his new label called AZTLAN. For this occasion, he decided to release a 30-Track compilation entitled « La Voz De Los Sin Voz » which could be translated in english as « The Voice of the Voiceless ». All the profits will be donated to the community of women & kids in resistance of Chiapas. By this way, the label introduces directly its militant position without hesitation to put some sample of committed speeches into their productions. Most of producers featuring on this project are underground : some are new comers and others are a bit more significant to that specific musical niche. The immersion into this real compilation is very interesting because you can’t really guess what style of music it will be the next track, some producers don’t hesitate to go out from their own pattern and at the end this project covers many different kind of music related to ElectroTechno. A good compilation for a new independent label to follow. Recommended!

The tasty label POMELO introduces a new underground Detroit-based producer named KEMETRIX aka SOULWERK. Close and affiliated to MOODYMAN & STINGRAY, KEMETRIX mixes smartly the two main musical styles of DETROIT : the hot Soul music & the weird Hi-Tech music. His great 6-track EP entitled “Soulbrother #3 ” is actually his first project announcing a promising series. His sweet voice barely touching the omnipresent futuristic-sounds is a surprising hybrid jam, really up-to-date. For the connoisseurs, the KEMETRIX’ productions should remind some new musical fields recently explored by his homies on the URBAN TRIBE’s Selftitled Album (2010). KEMETRIX is for sure a new type of artist to follow. Nice pick again from POMELO Records that continues to promote the music in advance of its time. Recommended!

The talented & secretive Miami-based producer named ARNOLD STEINER [aka AS1] is back with a new project on his own electro label Transient Force. The « Songs for Venus » album is a concept-album built around the different type of NEBULAS displayed into the galaxy. Indeed, each title track refers to a specific interstellar cloud of dust. In accordance to that topic, the « Songs for Venus » album highlights a large diversity of well-produced electronic sounds & melodies such as : Ambient, Drone, Electro, Dark beats and of course Electro Bass music. On that project, you will find back the classic AS1′s signature and also some new interesting directions via his experimental ambient tunes. The album-concept is as well catchy as solid and has a no non-sense in its entire listenning. Therefore if like us, you think SCI-FI electro music is currently too focused on Robotic sounds and not enough on Galactic music you will really enjoy this awesome album, the pure spacey electro vision is inside. Highly Recommended!

The Netherlands-based producer LEGOWELT has just released his new album entitled « The Paranormal Soul » on the sub of CLONE Records : Clone Jack For Daze. Involved in music since the end of 90s, LEGOWELT has always been watching by a part of the audience as a pure underground genius however also as a too-repetitive producer by another part and ignored by the last part… Despite his undeniable musical talent, he’s never succeed to do a real gathering on one of his project (excepted may be via his EP « Pimpshifter »). However this new material is going to change that. On the «The Paranormal Soul» album, the immersion is easy & lively according to a production more catchy but always so solid. Therefore that way could seduce a more large audience and highlights the LEGOWELT’s unique signature as powerful one. The entire track list is really good and at the opposite of its time you won’t have to zap any track (…it also hard to choose or to extract just one tune as the favorite). The atmosphere is deeply inspiring & inspired. Some sounds will remind you like a specific souvenir without be able to put a name of an artist on it but rather a style or a period; so we find back some reminiscences from old House, New-Age, Synth Wave, Rave, Acid and all the components of electronic music. A really enjoyable combo! Don’t pass through the best LEGOWELT’s album, « The Paranormal Soul » is definitely a masterpiece and will mark this year and more.
