Hi kids,

I know.. I know. We’ve been slacking off a bit when it comes to updating our website. Excuses are for wimps, so here’s the excuse: behind the scenes things are crazy – and we mean ka!-ree!-siie! busy with us not only signing on the world’s awesomest new acts (yes, we have more good stuff coming up), we’re also expending our company and moving into new and exciting directions.

Today, we’re proud to tell you we’ve started Truché Tour Support. It’s the perfect place to hire your wheels, backline and drivers for the road. It’s the perfect tour support company for up and coming bands with international ambition. You can read more about our plans and ideas for this baby on the new website.

I’m sure it’s no surprise to you that Truché stays true to that lovely combination we’re famous for: modesty – handsomeness & bad jokes. No I’m kidding: Awesomeness, Honesty & Affordable. That’s Truché for ya.

New family member: Conduits

It’s always a special occasion when your family is expanding. This time it’s even extra special since we have our first American member joining our musical family. Man, are we proud to present to you our very own Omaha based ‘all-star’ band: Conduits!

There’s only one way to introduce a band properly and that is with their tunes. So cranck that volume button and sit back:

Conduits consists of members of The Good Life, Eagle Seagull, Son Ambulance, Neva Dinova, Cursive, and The Golden Age, and was formed in late 2009. Built from an equal love of drone, shoegaze, post rock, early synth, and the 1970′s, their sound exists in a world bigger than the sum of its parts: chiming guitars, steady drum beats, analog synths, proggy basslines, and beautiful female vocals that are strong enough to not get lost in the swirling soundscapes.

We’ll be releasing their self-titled debut on March 20th 2012 on beautiful 12″ vinyl (including the cd) and on good ol’ cd as well as a free download.

In the meantime we’re working very hard to get the guys (and girl) over here for some shows as soon as possible. More on that soon. If you’re in America you’re in luck though; Conduits will be hitting the road as of March 22nd alongside their buddies Cursive and Cymbals eat Guitars. Check out the tour dates here.

OUT NOW: Darkling, I Listen

Two years after releasing their debut album ‘Reverence for Fallen Trees’ (2009) our very own folk-rockers The Black Atlantic are set to release their new EP ‘Darkling, I Listen’.

From the near classical guitar intro of the opening, brooder-song “The Aftermath”, it is clear that ‘Darkling, I Listen’ is a much different sonic animal than the intimate, and mostly acoustic, affair of The Black Atlantic’s debut album. Clocking in at 23 minutes and 23 seconds, ‘Darkling’ contains five fully sculpted songs with a wide array of elements and in uences, from 70’s psychedelic folk–rock to Phil Spector-esque orchestrated chamber pop and 60’s Motown soul sensibilities. It also takes informed cues from current indie epitomes such as Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver.

The Black Atlantic wears these influences on its sleeve without sounding inauthentic. ‘Darkling I, Listen’ is an immersive listening experience, rustic and pastoral, but without the obvious pretty embellishments. It is impressionistic in its scope, full of wide-open vistas and cavernous sonic swells.

The artwork is created by visual artists Tracy Maurice and Matt Moroz, known for their artwork for Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade.

We’ve released the EP on CD today, wrapped up in a beautiful 6 page digipack including an 8 page booklet. The 12″ vinyl version is expected to arrive later this month.

2011? Almost forgot!

2011 has been a great and satisfying year for us! We have literally been around the world, seen the most amazing places and met some of the nicest human beings on this planet. We are sincerely grateful for that! We’ll continue to do what we love most, which will start with the release of The Black Atlantic’s new mini album Darkling, I listen. Very soon we will expand our family. It will be a quintuplet. That’s all we can say right now. We are soooo excited! Time to get back to work now. We’ll leave you with a list (Better late then never). In no particular order though. We’ve enjoyed all of them (and a bunch more)!

This October My bubba & Mi was in the mighty United States of America for Culture Collide, CMJ New York and a bunch of shows. While in L.A. they shot a lovely little video with the awesome folks of Filter Magazine for Dickies. This is the result. And we like it.

In. Your. Face! Kapow! The Black Atlantic released 5 brand new songs today. Their extraordinary EP titled ‘Darkling, I Listen’ will hit stores January 13th 2012 but they decided to let you stream this beauty as off today. If that isn’t enough they also released the complete artwork made by Tracy Maurice and Matt Moroz who previously worked on Arcade Fire’s Neon Bible. We’ve included three panels in this post, but you can check out the rest here.
