Undefeated x Converse Poorman’s Weapon Olive Green

After the huge success of the first release of the Undftd x Converse collab, we are graced with a second round of the Poorman’s Weapon, this time in an olive green colorway. Retaining the same bomber jacket-esq look, materials, and orange inner, this version is sure to be just as much of a hit as the first. While the black version was shipped out to retailers in limited quantities, the olive version is an Undtfd chapter store exclusive, meaning Las Vegas, Santa Monica, and LA shops only. They will drop on Armed Forces Day^1., and retail for about 92$. I’m not sure if they will be taking phone orders on these, but I’m gonna find out soon.

I know that the the new Wolverine movie has been leaked beyond reason, and with my current connection I could probably download it in a hour or so, but I refuse to do it. Why? One reason, Deadpool.

Instead of:

Directors thought it would be cool to give us some putty mouthed version of Baraka.

Really? Here is my thought to the next director doing a comic movie, because you know there are 6000 of them on the way. STOP FUCKING WITH THE CHARACTERS. Just leave them the way they are in the comics, no new twists or powers or appearance. I mean these characters have lasted this long for a reason, stop ad-libbing shit, and just write a good storyline around the character. I mean hell, in most cases you have 10+ years of story to work with, I think you could figure something out.

On a side note, is it just me, or does the toy package art of Wolverine make him look a lil light in the loafers? I’m jus sayin.

Hell, I’m sure if he is promoting these things so hard, he must plan on setting them at a price point so that most of his fans can cop a pair, and make their own judgment call, right? …right? WRONG, we are talking about Kanye West here. The man that named himself “Martin Louis the King Jr.”, I think the real world is not something he lives in. New Apple Ipod Shuffle: face meet palm

Enough of that…

In case you haven’t checked any tech or gadget blog yet today, you’re in for a treat. Apple officially released a new version of the iPod shuffle. This new version has become yet another victim of Steve Job’s apparent button-phobia since he’s basically chosen to remove ALL of them. Only a lock switch remains on the top of the all-aluminium shell. The pause/play controls are now embedded in a new set of Apple headphones…yes I know. I’m gonna get to this, just let me finish my thought. With the new ultra-nothing approach, Apple has been forced to up the stakes by creating a system called “Voiceover” that audibly announces what song, artist, or playlist you’re listening to. Peachy.

This is the point where I launch into a swear-infested rant. You’ve been warned.

The shuffle always seemed like the odd man out among the iPod product line because, outside of use during workouts, what good is it? The price point has always been too high in comparison to the alternatives. And in most cases it was stupid not to just buy a Nano which gives you an actual screen and larger capacity. In this case, I’m gonna say the same thing. The Nano, for about 150$, gives you a screen on which you can watch video and view photos (eyeroll). It also doubles the Shuffle’s 4gb max capacity, and offers a set of controls that don’t force you to use Apple’s shitty headphones.

And while I’m talking about the headphones, lets all be honest here: THEY ARE SHIT. If you’ve ever tried to jog (or do anything that requires any sort of movement) while wearing them, they fall out. The audio quality is just beyond that of a tin can on a string. And the build quality is about the same — they break when the wind blows too hard. On top of that, you tell me the ONLY way I can control the new Shuffle is with a set of these POS headphones?! You gotta be out of your fucking mind. As with all Apple products, this headphone situation gives third party companies a couple of months to release their headphone adapters before Apple releases their own. Go ahead and rape that pocket just a little bit more.

And this Voiceover thing is a bunch of junk, too. Considering the limited space on the Shuffle, you’ve probably already combed through your iTunes playlists to find specific songs and can recognize them the instant they start playing. So please explain why I need Microsoft “Sam” (or whateverthefuck the Apple voice is called) telling me that I’m listening to Hall & Oates. NO SHIT, I PUT IT ON THERE. /facepalm. Also, the voice is managed by your operating system language, so when it gets to a foreign song title, the Shuffle will probably have a stroke.

Regardless of my opinion, I’m sure this thing will sell out quickly among people that have every version of the Shuffle already. None of which are broken or required replacing in the first place. Oh well.

God save us all. How can somebody who broadcasts themself as such a “fashion forward” thinker so fervently push such a hideous product? This entire situation is so ridiculously baffling, just as baffling as Louis Vuitton’s decision to approve this product for production. Through all this, however, wide eyed kids will still line the streets awaiting this product launch, fighting for what will inevitably be a limited release. This is a prime example of a bandwagon product. With a name like Kanye West attached, I wouldn’t put it past half of these shoppers to purchase Kanye branded Maxi Pads. Come on now, think next time, Kanye.
