<p>A Balanced Diet</p>
<p>Eating a balanced diet means getting healthy portions of the five basic food groups each day. Use the food pyramid as a guide for how many servings of each food group you should be getting each day. A balanced diet means eating a wide variety of foods, as well as eating everything in moderation.<span id="more-124"></span></p>
<p>Food Groups</p>
<p>The five food groups are: (1) grains, (2) vegetables, (3) fruits, (4) dairy, and (5) meat and meat alternatives. A balanced diet contains something from each of these food groups every day. Some food groups require more servings than other, for instance you need more servings of vegetables than dairy.  Oils and sweets are also a part of the food pyramid, but should be consumed with discretion. Daily serving recommendations depend on several factors such as age and activity level, which should be taken into account when determining your personal daily food pyramid.</p>
<p>1. Grains</p>
<p>The recommended number of servings of grains is 6 to 11 per day, depending on your age and activity level. Grains include bread, rice, pasta and cereal. Choose whole grains and attempt to avoid &#8220;white grains,&#8221; such as white bread and white rice. Look for food labels containing &#8220;whole grain&#8221; in pastas and breads.</p>
<p>2. Vegetables</p>
<p>To eat a healthy, balanced diet you should have from 3 to 5 servings of vegetables a day. Vegetables are a primary source of vitamins and minerals and we cannot live without them. Fresh vegetables are the best choice but cooked vegetables and vegetable juice are also acceptable. Try to eat a large variety of vegetables each day, including many different colors.</p>
<p>3. Fruits</p>
<p>Fruits are full of vitamins and minerals. It is recommended that you have between 2 to 4 servings of fruit each day. If you opt for fruit juice, make sure it is 100 percent juice with no sugar added. Choose whole fruits as much as possible since they have the added bonus of fiber.</p>
<p>4. Dairy</p>
<p>The dairy group consists of milk, yogurt and cheese. It is recommended that you have between 2 to 3 servings of dairy products per day. Choose low-fat options, when possible. Dairy is an important source of calcium and other vitamins. If you are lactose-intolerant or vegan, it is important to get these vitamins elsewhere, such as from soy milk.</p>
<p>5. Meat and Meat Alternatives</p>
<p>Meat and meat alternatives are an important source of protein as well as other vitamins and minerals.  Foods that fall into this category include fish, poultry, beef, pork, eggs, beans, nuts and tofu. It is recommended that you have between 2 to 3 servings of meat or meat alternatives per day. Choose leaner meats since they have fewer animal fats.</p>
<p>Oils</p>
<p>Limit this food group as much as possible. Good fat sources include fish, nuts and vegetable oils. Keep in mind that oils from plant sources (vegetable and nut oils) do not contain any cholesterol. Limit solid fats such as butter, stick margarine, shortening and animal fat.</p>
<p>A healthy diet is one that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products; includes lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs, and nuts; and is low in saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, salt (sodium) and added sugars.</p>

<p>The center of all muscle building programs is your diet. If you are not eating a good balanced diet, all of the work that you are doing on your muscles will be for nothing. Most of the programs that are designed for building muscle, focus on the protein in your diet, but<span id="more-123"></span> you have to make sure that you are getting other vitamins and nutrients as well.<br />
Secret Key<br />
To build muscle, most experts recommend that you eat five or six smaller meals all through the day instead of three big ones. You will burn more fat when you eat this way than you will with the traditional meal plan. If you are allowed to go too long between meals your body will begin to use your muscle tissue instead of fat. This means that you could begin to lose muscle. <br />
When you are not eating enough in between your meals, the body will begin to get into starvation mode and go after the muscle to get what it needs. This will cause your body to lose some of the muscle and increase the amount of fat that you are carrying. Eating every two or three hours will prevent this from happening. The typical range that you should stay in for each of your smaller meals is forty percent, carbohydrates, forty percent protein and twenty percent fat.<br />
For all body builders who just want to stay where they are at and for everyone else in between you need to eat a well balanced diet. Eat a variety of foods and enough calories to build and repair muscle. You need to learn what foods have the nutrients you need and which to avoid all together. <br />
The largest meal that you eat should be after your workout. The smallest meal that you eat should be the one closest to your bedtime. You will also have to make sure that you are drinking enough water to keep your body well hydrated. Find some good information on nutrition so that you know what your body needs while you are working your muscles. <br />
If your goal is to build muscle fast and gain weight on one of the building muscle diets than you want a high protein diet. For building muscle diets you need to choose the right kind of protein. Choosing the right type of food for your entire diet is important, but protein builds muscle. There a just a few high protein building muscles<br />

If you are trying to lose fat, you should eat less five days during the week and increase your calories two days of the week. achieve permanent weight loss. Though dieting can often help<br />
you reach your weight loss goals quicker and more<br />
drastically, you will eventually gain back all of the weight<br />
lost during your diets once you get back into your old<br />
eating habits. Rather than entering the cycle of yo-yo<br />
dieting and rapid gains and losses, it is much more sensible<br />
and healthy to gradually change your eating habits, and to<br />
embark on a fun and consistent exercise program.</p>
<p><span id="more-122"></span>For years, a low-fat or low-calorie diet was considered the<br />
only cure for obesity. However, these diets tended to<br />
increase your appetite.  Now, it&#8217;s been determined that a<br />
low-carb diet is more practical and effective.  Low-carb<br />
diets are low in carbohydrates and higher in proteins, fats<br />
and oils.  You appetite remains under control because fatty<br />
foods satisfy the cravings most people have.  By eating a<br />
diet higher in fat actually increases weight loss faster<br />
than if you were fasting.  You should avoid trans-fats and<br />
only eat fats such as olive oil and flax seed oil</p>
<p>A low-carb diet is primarily a high fat diet and an adequate<br />
protein diet. It should be accompanied with adequate<br />
physical activity, which does not necessarily mean tiring<br />
yourself with workouts your body cannot take for long. On<br />
the contrary, simple physical activity is sufficient,<br />
especially if you are leading a sedentary lifestyle. Even<br />
fifteen minutes of exercise a day can make a big difference<br />
in how you look and feel. Once you begin to see the changes<br />
taking place in your body, you will find enough motivation<br />
to do more.</p>
<p>Always consult with your physician before starting any<br />
exercise program.  This will ensure your body can take the<br />
strain of exercise.  Your doctor will want to know how much<br />
exercise you plan on doing and for how long.</p>
<p>If you have never embarked on an exercise program before,<br />
you might consider joining a gym or hiring a personal<br />
trainer. Most health clubs offer a wide variety of free<br />
classes to their members, ranging from the more traditional<br />
aerobics and stair-stepping classes to more specialized<br />
classes like yoga and kickboxing. You can hire a private<br />
trainer, or you can enlist the help of a health club<br />
employee.</p>
<p>It is important to remember when exercising that you should<br />
focus on getting healthy more than the numbers on your<br />
scale.  Many people gain a little weight when they first<br />
begin an exercise program because they are building muscle.<br />
As a rule, muscle weighs more than fat.  As you gain muscle<br />
you&#8217;ll start burning more calories and fat.  So even if you<br />
choose not to diet and only exercise, you can still loose<br />
weight.  It is also important to eat well balanced healthy<br />
meals to sustain you through your workout sessions.</p>
