Gregg Easterbrook constantly complains about not receiving the DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket. He has to watch what his local network broadcasts, so he saw a lot of Redskins and Ravens in the last couple of years.

Personally if I could receive DirectTV, I think I would purchase the NFL Sunday Ticket. It's pretty invitingly to watch every NFL game you want. Last week the Vikings and Bears put up almost 100 points, but I had to watch lame San Diego getting beaten by Buffalo. I desperately wanted to switch to the other game, but I couldn't.

Outside the U.S. you can buy the NFL.com Game Pass HD. This is a internet stream in high definition. You can watch up to 4 games simultaneously with Game Pass HD. You can also access game archives and witness every regular season game. The there's the disadvantage the Game Pass does not include the Postseason.

I think the Direct TV NFL Sunday Ticket is the best NFL TV Package available right now. Satellite TV is still much more reliable than an internet stream.

You can order your private NFL TV at Direct Sat TV.

Bald Guy's Bowl Preview: EAGLEBANK BOWL Wake Forest - Navy

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SUhNk4gs7yI/AAAAAAAAA5M/v5NSXCz-znI/s400/wake-navy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280555859132084002" /> I'm looking forward to this game for two reasons:
1. I'm a big fan of triple-option football
2. It's the first time for Wake Forest in 63 years to play the same team twice in one season.

Usually I don't like rematches in bowl games, but this time it will be interesting. Navy defeated Wake Forest in week four and I want to see what Wake Forest have learned from the loss. It's hard for most teams to play a triple-option team during the season because you have only one week to prepare, but for the bowl game Wake Forest can completely focus on stopping the Midshipmen; plus the Demon Deacons can analyze what went wrong in September.

I'm also excited to see if the Midshipmen can continue to dominate with their defense. Navy finished the season with two shutouts.

My pick: NAVY

Congratulations Sam Bradford - but beware of the Heisman Curse

<img style=" margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 227px; height: 320px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SUg_sZml_sI/AAAAAAAAA5E/NNSRw_cPFlQ/s320/Bradford-heisman.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5280540595111460546" />
He is the second sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy. I favored Tim Tebow, but I really think Sam Bradford deserves the honor. He played a fantastic season,...yeah I know, his team lost to Texas, but they regrouped and finished the season with an invitation to the National Championship Game. Let's take a final look at his regular season numbers:

4464 passing yards (3rd in the FBS)
48 touchdown passes (1st in the FBS)
68.3 % pass completions (7th in FBS)
186.29 passer rating (1st in the FBS)
10.1 yards per pass (3rd in the FBS)

Great numbers of a great athlete. And he seems to be a great individual, too. I really liked his speach; he was so thankful and modest. He won me over by thanking his offense linemen before his wide receivers.

So Bradford won the Heisman Trophy, but I'm still rooting for the Gators. I hope the Heisman Curse will help Florida to win the National Championship Game. You've never heard of the Heisman Curse? Take a look at this:

2007 Heisman winner: Tebow - Bowl: Florida lost to Michigan
2006 Heisman winner: Troy Smith - Bowl: Ohio State lost to Florida
2005 Heisman winner: Reggie Bush - Bowl: USC lost to Texas
2003 Heisman winner: Jason White - Bowl: Oklahoma lost to LSU
2001 Heisman winner: Eric Crouch - Bowl: Nebraska lost to Miami

This century the Heisman winners won only two bowl games. Is the Heisman Curse a case for the brother of 'Supernatural'? No, the Heisman Curse is also called media. All those interviews, film crews and TV shows cause a lot of distraction. And it is hard to stay focused for a month if there is a camera pointing at you all the time.

Let's see if Bradford can handle the pressure! I hope not, after all I'm a Tebow-Natic.

---GO GATORS---

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Final Week

This is the final week of college football's regular season. And the Heisman Race comes down to three names: Tebow, McCoy and Bradford. In this week's edition of Bald Guy's Heisman Race I will discuss the chances of the three candidates to win the Heisman Trophy.

Tim Tebow

In most rankings he is behind McCoy and Bradford because he doesn't have the numbers like the other two. But I think the Heisman Trophy is more than just evaluating statistics.
How can Tebow persuade the voters?
He has to win against Alabama and he has to earn style points. And he needs Mizzou to stuff Bradford.

Sam Bradford

Sam Bradford is the frontrunner right now. He disappeared from the Heisman picture after the loss against Texas, although he played fine all season long. He popped up again with the win against Texas Tech. His numbers are stunning and he has a great presence on the field.
How can he lose his Heisman frontrunner spot?
The voters for the Big 12 quarterbacks are torn. McCoy or Bradford? If Bradford stumbles against Mizzou he will lose votes to McCoy. Even if he performaces well in the Big 12 championship game, after all the Sooners 'just' play against 20-ranked Mizzou. At the same time Tebow and the Gators will face the top-ranked team in the nation.

Colt McCoy

While Bradford and Tebow have one more chance to shine, he has to stay at home and root for the defenses of Alabama and Mizzou. McCoy chances to win the Heisman Trophy highly depend on the performance of his competitors. He performed well during the season and his numbers are great, too. The problem is that he and the 'horns defeated Oklahoma too early this year. Oklahoma is considered the best team of the Big 12, because they beat Texas Tech. It's like everybody forgot that Texas topped Oklahoma 45-35. McCoy has to rely on the memory of the voters to win.

Who is favorite of the Bald Guy?

Tim Tebow! Tim Tebow! Tim Tebow!
He is a good kid and if I could hand out the Heisman Trophy, he would receive it for his <s>speech</s> promise after the Ole Miss loss!

<img style=" margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SS1-wsp4_TI/AAAAAAAAA38/XC_snTFmeDM/s320/tebow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273010113806400818" />

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Thirteen

Today I'm not going to update my top-5-list. This week I'm presenting the Heisman-Trophy-Vote-Scenario:

This is the cream of the Big-12:

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 90px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SS16DUr3b7I/AAAAAAAAA30/32OHj63BSXE/s400/Big12-QB.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273004936231612338" />
But who's the best? Those three top-athletes had great games, good games and disappointing games. Their teams are 10-1 and their sole loss came from playing each other. Their numbers are stunning:
Harrell -4,438 passing yards & 45 total touchdowns-
Bradford - 3,710 passing yards & 46 total touchdowns-
McCoy -3,134 passing yards; 527 rushing yards & 38 total touchdowns

Who would you vote for?

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 234px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SS1-wsp4_TI/AAAAAAAAA38/XC_snTFmeDM/s320/tebow.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5273010113806400818" />And then there is Tim Tebow! Since that loss to Ole Miss he has played like a man possessed. His numbers are solid, but consider this Tebow can not pile up huge numbers because the Gators are great on defense and special teams. It's pretty hard to gain 300 yards passing if you start most of your drives near the 50-yard-line. Besides his performance on the field Tim Tebow is an idol off the field, too. He has GPA of 3.81. He traveled the third world to help the poor. And he won the Heisman trophy last year. Florida and Tim Tebow have to win two more games against Alabama and Florida State.

It's a simple calculation:
Imaging there are 10 voters for the Heisman trophy: four will vote for the SEC, four will vote for the Big 12 and two are undecided. The Big 12 voters will split their votes and one of the undecided is Tim Tebow. What do you think? Who will hold the trophy in his hands?

The Heisman Race is almost over..., but we will be back in week fourteen.

One Season - Sports trading is more than just fantasy sports

I've been playing fantasy football for several years now. This season I signed up for regular fantasy football (3 teams), pro football pick'em, college football pick'em, salary cap football, survival football and college football bowl pick'em. I'm doing fine so far this season.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 166px; height: 88px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SS1y-a2W_sI/AAAAAAAAA3s/YkUktv3mM7o/s320/logo_one-season_v2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272997155405496002" />

Recently I stumbled over sports trading. At first I had no idea what this strange looking website is all about. After reading the FAQ on OneSeason.com I gained insight.

Correct me, if I'm wrong:
Sports trading is like a stock market, but you are not trading stocks or shares, but sports issues or at OneSeason.com : Synthetic Ownership Interest. You invest real money and you can earn real money. This sounds like gambling, but it isn't. Gambling depends on odds and luck. Sports trading is based on principles of the free market, so every capital gain depends on pure trading skills. Check out this player profile behind the symbol FAVR to get the idea behind sports trading.

If you want to try sports trading visit OneSeason.com, because they are offering $10 for new users to start trading.

Open your own gym in your living room - Nintendo's Wii Fit

Sweat, pain and sore muscles - looks like a typical evening with some friends and a Nintendo Wii. I really like the gaming console from Nintendo. Video games used to be for coach potatoes and slackers, but the Wii forces you to move a little bit more than just your thumbs.
Check out the available wii games and you will find a lot of 'sports games'. I remember the first night we played 'Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games'. Sweat was dropping down my chin and my hands and arms were sore.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SSwf86XuKQI/AAAAAAAAA2w/frxE4WpRzGk/s320/nintendo-wii-fit1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272624395065370882" />A couple of month ago Nintendo released Wii Fit. At least I got 50% right. At the moment the unbeaten four are: Ball State, Boise State, Alabama and Utah.
While Utah already finished the season undefeated, the other three teams will face strong adversaries in the final games of the regular season.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 107px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SSv7klWdS7I/AAAAAAAAA2o/xRyjtzvIHFc/s400/unbeaten4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272584394687466418" />
Alabama: The Crimson Tide will play Auburn this week and will meet Florida in the SEC Championship Game. Florida is the hottest team right now. Offense, defense and special teams, the Gators haven't shown any weakness in the last couple of games. The Crimson Tide has to play up to perfection to remain unbeaten.

Boise State: The BSC buster team got only Fresno State on their schedule. And I don't think the Bulldogs have enough firepower to down the Broncos.

Ball State: The Cardinals saved the best for last. In their last conference game they will line up against the high-powered offense of Western Michigan. Ball State has to score quickly and create an early lead. Against Central Michigan they trailed or were tied most of the game. This weekend they can not allow Western Michigan to stay in the game or they will lose.

With the Perfect Season in reach, which team will finish strong?

The Master of Comebacks invites you to "the DRIVE"

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 250px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SSrIeci1l_I/AAAAAAAAA2Y/1b1r6YQudLM/s320/the+drive.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5272246739174529010" />
NFL icon John Elway invites you to "the DRIVE" on OPEN sports.

OK, what are you talking about?
"The DRIVE" is a contest, which will give you the chance to win daily prizes and a big grand prize.
The daily prizes include autographed memorabilia from NFL legends such as Marcus Allen, Marshall Faulk and of course John Elway. In sum OPEN Sports will give away daily prizes worth over $10,000.
And the grand prize?
How about to tickets for the Big Show in Miami in 2010? Yes, I'm talking about Super Bowl XLIV. I don't know, yet, which teams will play, but I try to prognosticate the pairing: the New England Patriots versus the Detroit Lions. I'm not sure about this, but I sure about the second grand prize: a new car lease from John Elway's Crown Toyota.

How can you participate?
It's a challenge. This is not one of those sign-up-contest. No, you have to be an active user of OPENSports.com. Every time you take part in the social activities of OPEN Sports you will earn yards. The activities include inviting fellows, uploading video clips or photos, creating a blog or commenting on a blog. Once you gain 100 yards you score a touchdown and receive one entry into the daily sweepstakes and grand prize drawing.

By the way, what is OPENSports.com?
A social, fan-focused sports site with a growing fan community.

Find out more about "the DRIVE" and read the official press release

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Twelve

The big clash of the Red Raiders and the Sooners is right ahead. What happened to the Top-5, when Harrell, Crabtree and Bradford took a week off?

5. WR Michael Crabtree -Texas Tech-
Texas Tech will need a big game from Crabtree against the Sooners. For the Heisman Race there is only one question: Could a wide receiver top his quarterback?

4. QB Colt McCoy -Texas-
McCoy showed a solid performance against Kansas. He gained a lot of yards with his feet and led the team in rushing with 78 yards. With Harrell, Bradford and Tebow in the spotlight now his chance to win the trophy diminish.

3. TB Tim Tebow -Florida-
He didn't compile large numbers, when the Gators handed Spurrier 'half a hundred'. But he played with such a intensity and determination, you could feel it through the TV screen.

2. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
The stage is set. I hope Bradford is ready. This is the second big game for the Sooners against a top-ranked team from Texas. Let's see if Bradford will seize his second chance.

1. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Harrell is 6 touchdown passes away from tying Colt Brennan's career record of 131. How about his chance to win the Heisman Trophy if the Red Raiders will be victorious and he will score 6 touchdowns?

The season is almost over...week thirteen is the beginning of the end!

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Eleven

This weekend all players of my Top-5 played well and their teams won easily. So there won't be any change in my ranking. Take a breath and enjoy the quiet before the storm.

5. WR Michael Crabtree -Texas Tech-
Eight catches and three touchdowns against Oklahoma State. He ranks second in scoring in the FBS with 18 touchdowns. Every defense knows that he is the main target in the redzone, but nobody knows how to stop him.

4. TB Tim Tebow -Florida-
He scored five touchdowns again; two with his feet and three with his arm. He also led the Gators in rushing with 88 yards. Vandy got no chance and Tebow stays in the Heisman Race

3. QB Colt McCoy -Texas-
McCoy threw two interception; pretty unusual for him. But he redeemed himself with 5 touchdowns and 300 passing yards. McCoy and the Longshorns are still in the race, so he better finish the season strong.

2. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
Bradford and the Sooners crushed Texas A&M last weekend. He scored 5 touchdowns with 320 yards passing. This weekend is big for Bradford. The Sooners need him to perform up to perfection against Texas Tech.

1. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Harrell piled up over 450 yards passing and six touchdowns in the victory against Oklahoma State. And the next test is already ahead. We have seen so many great quarterback battles this season; are you ready for one more?

Week Twelve - The Big Shuffle or everything remains the same?

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Ten

The games in week ten had everything: upsets, surprises, disappointments and a sweet revenge. And what happened to my Top-5?

5. WR Michael Crabtree -Texas Tech-
He catches the big ones. Crabtree caught at least one touchdown pass in each game this season. He is a great catcher, route runner and a weapon in the open field. And he caught the crucial touchdown pass against Texas with one second remaining.

4. TB Tim Tebow -Florida-
After the loss against Ole Miss Tim Tebow promised to play harder and better than ever. Against Georgia he kept his promise. I think he regained his Heisman-awarded performance from last year. And I hope he'll finish the season strong.

3. QB Colt McCoy -Texas-
McCoy lost his top spot, because he couldn't spark his team on saturday. He didn't play bad, but not good enough to beat the Red Raiders.

2. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
Another great game for Bradford against Nebraska. He threw three touchdown passes in the first quarter. He finished with five scores and 311 yards. Keep an eye on him; he'll go head-to-head with Harrell in two weeks.

1. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Our new number one: Graham Harrell. What a performance against the Longhorns. He commanded a great comeback drive to beat Texas and to claim the frontrunner spot in the Heisman Race.

Dropped out:
RB Javon Ringer -Michigan State-
RB Donald Brown -UConn-

Get ready for Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Eleven

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Nine

My Heisman race is pretty much dominated by quarterbacks, but this week a new running back entered.
Who? Let's find out:

5. RB Javon Ringer -Michigan State-
I always root for Donald Brown, but I can't ignore Ringer any longer. He is playing a great season. His 192 rushing yards against Michigan were impressive and his season stats are more than solid, too. He leads the FBS in rushing yards and scoring.

4. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
Brown rushed for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns against Cincinnati. He also added 58 receiving yards on 4 catches. So far this season his rushing average is 5.6 yards per carry and he already crossed the goalline 14 times. In my opinion he is the best running back in the FBS right now.

3. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
Bradford had a relatively poor day in the shootout against Kansas State completing only 40% of his passes. But he managed to threw for 3 touchdown and secured the win with his turnover-free performance.

2. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Texas Tech and Harrell are ready for this week's top game against Texas. Last weekend Harrell completed 5 touchdown passes and rushed for another one. He really spoiled Kansas' homecoming.

1. QB Colt McCoy -Texas-
The best two quarterbacks of the FBS going head-to-head this weekend. Can Texas Tech's defense stop McCoy? No, I don't think so, but I think they can slow him down. McCoy was terrific against Oklahoma, but not mistake-free.

Dropped out:
QB Zac Robinson -Oklahoma State-

Bald Guy's Heisman Race will be continued after week 10, if I survive the excitement caused by the upcoming Texas-Texas Tech game!

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Eight

Chase Daniels and Max Hall played poorly. McCoy impressed again. And what happened to my Top 5?
Ok, let's see:

5. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
Brown added another 100 yards game to his record. Although UConn lost to Rutgers due to a safety (Brown was tackled in the endzone), I still think Brown is one of the best running backs this season.

4. QB Zac Robinson -Oklahoma State-
Robinson leads the very efficient Cowboys offense. He threw for 14 touchdowns and ran another 5 touchdowns himself. Robinson against McCoy - that's the matchup for week 9. I can't wait for it!

3. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
Oklahoma bounced back from the loss against Texas. Bradford threw for 3 touchdowns and 468 yards against Kansas. I think he regained his confidence and is ready to lead Oklahoma back to the top.

2. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Harrell threw two interceptions against Texas A&M, but those picks didn't hurt his team much. Harrell scored 2 rushing touchdown and added 3 passing touchdowns to his 450 passing yards. Texas Tech is still unbeaten and will go head-to-head against Texas in week 10.

1. QB Colt McCoy -Texas-
Two impressing performances against top teams earned him the Number One spot in my Heisman Race. He completed 90% for his passes against Mizzou and showed real leadership skills. Even Tim Tebow would vote for McCoy.

Dropped out:
QB Chase Daniels -Mizzou-
Sorry Chase, but you dropped two important games, so I have to drop you!
QB Max Hall -BYU-

Bald Guy's Heisman Race - always late, but won't miss week nine!

Broken pinkie - Romo will miss some games. Trevor Wikre won't.

Tony Romo broke his pinkie on his throwing hand. He has to sit out some games, because he needs his pinkie to throw the ball with the necessary velocity. Tony Romo's NFL career depends on his pinkie.
Trevor Wikre broke his pinkie, too, but he came to a different decision.

Trevor Wikre is playing right guard at Mesa State College, a Division II school. He broke his pinkie very severely in practice. The bone stuck out of his skin. At the hospital he was told that a surgery would be necessary to repair the bone and to reconstruct the ligaments. He would miss his senior year.

Trevor Wikre didn't want to end his football career due to a broken pinkie. So he asked the doctors to cut off his finger. And they did.
Trevor Wikre sacrificed his pinkie to play his final season, because he loves football and he didn't want to let down his team.

Read the whole story on ESPN.com.

Sunglasses for Sports - ShopWiki UK will help you

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SPyTFjLOFPI/AAAAAAAAA0s/WPgSBO_K9mo/s400/sunglasses.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259240188412826866" />
Sunglasses for sports, you need them for two reasons:
Number One: Protect your eyes from harmful UV rays!
Number Two: Express your own personality and impress with your cool style.

Besides the style of the sunglasses there are more things to check if you want to buy cool sunglasses. He is good, but good enough for my Top-5?
Ok, let's see:

5. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
I thought about lifting Colt McCoy into my top 5 instead of Sam Bradford, but I think Bradford is still the better quarterback. He has thrown for 5 touchdowns and 387 yards in the loss to Texas. This time you can't blame the QB!

4. QB Max Hall -BYU-
Max Hall threw three touchdonws in the victory over New Mexico. Half way through the season his numbers are more than solid: 20 touchdowns, only 4 interceptions, over 1800 passing yards and 16 consecutive wins.

3. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
He didn't play in week seven. Ringer of Michigan State is now the leading rusher, but Brown will reclaim the rushing crown next week.

2. QB Chase Daniels -Mizzou-
Bad timing for Chase Daniels - he played his worst game this season when his team needed him the most. His three interceptions (two in the fourth quarter) pave the way for Oklahoma State to seal the deal.

1. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Harrell played almost perfect and lead Texas Tech to a big win over Nebraska. The Red Raiders are 6-0 right now. Harrell has thrown 17 touchdowns and no interceptions in the last four games. He also ran for three touchdowns this season

Bald Guy's Heisman Race - ready to cover week eight....well, next week!

Don't get on top to early - The Top-5-Curse

I think Texas will lose to Mizzou this weekend. The Longshorns are cursed, because the reached the number one spot. I won't called it upset if the Tigers win the game. I will call it doom.

Last weekend Mizzou at 3, LSU at 4 and of course Oklahoma at number one, all three teams lost their games and the rankings were all shuffled.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SPdSq8CFd6I/AAAAAAAAA0g/4ylveUNkccM/s400/Week7-Top5-Curse.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257761987601201058" />
Who is in real danger this week?

Number One Texas will line up against Missouri.
The Longhorns are in trouble. The Tigers are good, they stumbled last week against Oklahoma State, but that was just the wake up call they need. Another great Big 12 matchup - Big 12 and SEC good games guaranteed!
Upset Alert: Condition Red!

Number two Alabama will face Ole Miss.
Ole Miss stunned Florida two weeks ago, but I think Alabama will be ready and should be able to stuff Ole Miss. A SEC game always carries the possibility of an upset so:
Upset Alert: Condition Yellow!

Number three Penn State will play Michigan
The Wolverines are rebuilding right now. I don't think Penn State will have much trouble to control and defeat the baby-teethed predators
Upset Alert: Condition Green!

Number four Oklahoma will face Kansas
Kansas has a good team, I don't know if it's good enough to defeat Oklahoma, but the Sooners are vulnerable. They can't afford to lose two consecutive games.
Upset Alert: Condition Orange!

Number five Florida will have a nice day at the beach
What? No beaches in Gainesville? C'mon just think outside the box!
Upset Alert: Condition Green!

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Six

Oh, oh I'm late again.
Let's get started! ...and here are my candidates:

5. QB Max Hall -BYU-
Tough day for Max Hall, who threw two interceptions against Utah State. On the other hand his 303 passing yards and 2 touchdowns were just enough to lift BYU to a victory.

4. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
Brown rushed for 169 yards and one touchdown in the loss to North Carolina. He broke the 1000-yards-rushing mark in just 6 games and he averages 6 yards per carry, but still he receives only little respect from the major sports analysts.

3. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
He threw for two touchdown and rushed for another in a solid win against Baylor. Bradford will face a very good Texas defense in week 7. Let's see if he can impress against a strong Big12 opponent.

2. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Another great performance by Harrell. He threw for 454 yards and tossed the ball over the goalline six times. Right now Harrell averages 405 yards passing and over 3 touchdowns per game. If Graham Harrell can lead his team to victories against Texas and Oklahoma, please give him the trophy!

1. QB Chase Daniels -Mizzou-
No signs of slowing down! He lead Mizzou to the first victory against Nebraska in three decades. He is playing almost flawless, no interceptions in four games. Keep on going, Chase!

Week seven already started and the Heisman Race will be back before week eight ends!

Still undefeated - Which college team will win it all?

Week six is in the books and we have 15 undefeated teams in the FBS (formerly known as Division IA. Mathematically only 10 teams can finish 1X-0, but the chances are slim. Only a handful teams will survive.
Which squads? Let's see:

1. Missouri
2. Oklahoma State
3. Oklahoma
4. Texas
5. Texas Tech

Mathematically not more than two (only Missouri and Oklahoma) of those teams can end the season without a loss. I favor Texas or Missouri to win it all, but I won't be surprised if all teams suffer at least one defeat during the rest of the season.

6. Penn State
I think Penn State is playing its best football in years and if I had to bet on one team to go undefeated it would be the Nittany Lions. They have to play Ohio State, Wisconsin and Michigan State in the next weeks, but I think Penn State will survive these threats.

7. Northwestern
Northwestern hasn't played ranked teams, yet. They will face the tough opponents in the 2nd half of the season starting with Michigan State. No, I don't think Northwestern will win against Michigan State and Purdue and Ohio State and Illinois and...

8. Tulsa
Tulsa dominated their opponents this season averaging over 56 points per game. But I think Tulsa will stumble against UTEP or Houston or even against SMU!

9. Utah
10. BYU

If both teams beat TCU and stay undefeated, we will see a great season finale when BYU faces Utah. Right now I believe BYU will have the edge in this game.

11. Ball State
Dante Love went down but Ball State kept on winning. If they can win against a tough playing Western Michigan, they will likely go undefeated.

12. Vanderbilt
I really like the Commodores this season, but they have to play a tough SEC schedule. Georgia, Florida and Kentucky won't hand out a "W" without a fight. I think there is only one SEC team with a good chance to remain undefeated and unfortunately it's not Vanderbilt.

13. Alabama
14. LSU

Yes, it's Alabama! This is the best team in the SEC right now and I believe they can end the season with a perfect record. No, LSU won't spoil it for Alabama. The Crimson Tide will likely win the SEC and will play in the National Championship Game.

15. Boise State
Boise State is playing well this year. With Hawaii rebuilding there are only Nevada and Fresno State left to stop Boise State from reaching perfection. But I think the Broncos will celebrate on the blue turf in the end!

I pick Penn State, Alabama, Boise State and Missouri to remain unbeaten. What's your pick?

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Five

A quiet week for 3 of my top-5 candidates. But the other two played excellent games!
So who are the top candidates this week?

5. QB Max Hall -BYU-
No shutouts, no touchdowns, no game for Max Hall and BYU!

4. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
Bradford is playing a great sophomore year. He threw for 411 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win over TCU. In his last two games he has passed for 9 touchdowns and no interceptions.

3. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
Brown again carried UConn to another victory. He rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown while UConn's passing attack chalked up only 122 yards. He remains the leading rusher of the FBS.

2. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
The Air Raid offense of Texas Tech took a break this week, but will be back with more next week!

1. QB Chase Daniels -Mizzou-
And finally a week without Chase Daniels rewritting the record books. Only the schedule can stop Mizzou and Chase Daniels these days!

Bald Guy's Heisman Race will be continued in week six!

Jets' Smith hit Cardinals' Boldin and the NFL overreacts

Last Sunday Anquan Boldin took a vicious hit from two Jets defenders and left the field on a stretcher. Yes, there was a so-called helmet-to-helmet contact between Eric Smith and Boldin, but I don't think it was intentional. Here's the footage:

Eric Smith was fined $50,000 and he was suspended for one game by the NFL. I don't think that this punishment is deserved. The NFL wants to ban helmet-to-helmet hits to improve player safety. But in this case they overreact totally. I don't think Eric Smith intended to hit with the crown of his helmet. Actually I think he wasn't ready to hit Boldin that's why he went down, too. Boldin jumped to the ball and was hit in the back by Kerry Rhodes. His body changed speed and direction through Rhodes' hit and Smith wasn't able to adjust. When Boldin and Smith collided, Smith's neck and shoulder muscles weren't tensed, his head shook like a bobblehead. Eric Smith might have suffered a concussion, too. No, I don't think he intended to deliver a blow.

In my opinion the whole incident was an accident with two victims, but the NFL needed a scapegoat for its anti-helmet-to-helmet-hits discussion, so Eric Smith is the black sheep this week!

It's Upset Time - my favorite season of the year

We all had to wait for four weeks to watch the first major upset of this year's college football season. When Ohio almost upset Ohio State and Georgia almost got beaten by South Carolina in week three, it reminded me of last season and the great upset mayhem.

And last night it finally happened: The unbeaten, undisputed number one USC lost to Oregon State. The great Trojan defense got run over by freshman RB Jacquizz Rodgers. At 5-feet-6 weighing 180 pounds Jaquizz Rodgers doesn't look like the typical heavy weighter to knockout a top ranked defense, but we all know: "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog." I love it!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_sHwJT2LC9Ds/SNzpjeZMKgI/AAAAAAAAAu8/BoOh5tYKpfI/s320/Jacquizz-Rodgers.jpg" border="0" title="Jaquizz Rodgers - photo by AP Photo/Don Ryan"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5250328061270567426" />
So who's next? Who will fall?
Maybe Oklahoma will lose to Baylor next week!
Maybe an unbeaten Florida will be beaten by Florida State in the final week of the season
I can't wait for the next upset!

The Bald Guy's Heisman Race Week Four

Week five already started (with a boom and a huh? for USC and Oregon State), that means it's about time to present Bald Guy's Heisman candidates of week four
Here they come:

5. QB Sam Bradford -Oklahoma-
He enters my list without playing in week 4, because Dante Love got injured this week and couldn't play up to his level. So Sam Bradford joins my club of candidates and I hope the young sophomore can prove that he belongs to the elite of college football.

4. QB Max Hall -BYU-
Another shutout for the BYU Cougars and another good performance of Max Hall. He tossed three touhdown passes and lead his team to 102 unanswered points in two games.

3. RB Donald Brown -UConn-
Brown carried the ball 34 times for 150 yards and scored the winning touchdown against Baylor with 6 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter. He is definitely the workhorse of the UConn attack and he'll carry the Huskies to a bowl game.

2. QB Graham Harrell -Texas Tech-
Graham Harrell had no problems with the pass defense of UMass and completed nearly 80% of his pass attempts. He also threw 4 touchdowns. He hasn't thrown an interceptions in the last two games and his Red Raiders remain unbeaten.

1. QB Chase Daniels -Mizzou-
It's like he set or break a record every time he takes a snap. In week four Chase Daniels completed 20 passes in a row and broke his own school record for passing yards in a game. A record he set in week three. The Tigers and Chase Daniels are hot, hot, hot! Heisman trophy and National Championship, this could be Mizzou's season!

Dropped out:
WR/SB Dante Love -Ball St.-

Bald Guy's Heisman Race will be back in a few days for the candidates of week five!

Patriot's defeat - it's all my fault!

We all witnessed Miami's victory over New England last weekend. The Dolphins pulled out the old Single Wing and embrassed the hell out of the Patriots. (I took this phrase from Vince Lombardi's famous quote:
"What would happen if someone came out with a single-wing offense? It would embarrass the hell out of us."
Here's is some footage of the direct snap plays:

So why is this terrible defeat my fault?

I coach a youth flag football team and last year I put a clip with two of our plays on Youtube. Last week the video was viewed about 80 times and that's a incredible increase because the video was viewed only 880 times in the last 20 months. Maybe Tony Sparano found the clip and thought this could be a good idea?

Don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the Patriots and I didn't want to hurt them with my flag football playbook. So I have to say sorry! My bad!
Maybe Bill Belichick is interested in some of my new flag football plays? Next time I'll email him before I put a clip on Youtube.

(---this post is labeled: NOT SERIOUS!---)
