There I mentioned about BANS  and Phpbay and how these two can be used to incorporate ebay into your blog. This post will try to give bit more details about the two mentioned methods ,like their pros and cons

BANS :

• cost is 97$,one time.Can build unlimited sites.
• No need to pay for separate licenses
• Best for a newbie who doesn’t have any technical knowledge and who is not familiar with wordpress or PHP.Can be setup within an hour
• Great support forum

Disadvantages

• 97$ may sound too much,for some people.
• not possible to hide ebay links and images on your website.Which might result in your site being slapped by Google.But You can get your affiliate links hidden on a persite basis for 30$

One more important thing to remember while purchasing BANS.You need to be approved as an ebay affiliate to use the product.So make it sure that everything is approved before you purchase BANS

PHPbay:

• cost is 49$.It’s a wordpress plugin.
• If you are familiar with wordpress and know a bit about coding and installation then this is the thing for you.
• great personal support
• Can easily hide your ebay links and images

Disadvantages

• You need to have a little bit of coding knowledge or should be familiar with wordpress.If you are in a bit of a hurry and want to get your site going then it might not suit you.
• Can’t find much help in the forums.

   • bidvertiser another advertising network where advertisers will bid for the ad slots on your website and you can place the ads of the highest bidder.It also provides you the option to show ads in your feeds.    This is an another great source of income for bloggers.People go about in different ways in increasing their affiliate income.Some run PPC campaigns others run CPA campaigns and few solely generate affiliate sales based on the content of their blog.Affiliate marketing is one of the most fascinating and lucrative way of making money from blogs.Initially it may seem difficult but once you get the trick there is literally no limit on how much bucks you can make online.

   • Commission junction :One of the biggest affiliate networks with top-notch advertisers.You can find here products suitable for a variety of publishers.You can find various kinds of special offers from various publishers and promote those products on your site.Not every advertiser will allow you to promote their products.One thing I like about CJ is the ability to contact the advertiser.You can use the ads provided by the advertiser,which may be banner ads,text ads .You can even promote some products via email marketing also.You can run PPC campaigns if you have the money to promote products.
   • clickbank:The one stop solution for digital products on the internet.If you want to sell digital products like ebooks,softwares then this is the place for you.It boasts of some of the highest commission payouts in the affiliate industry which can go upto 75%.Though some consider it a scam and sometimes it really looks one if you browse through the products.But if you find the correct product,do some keyword research you can make some really obscene amount of money out of it.The thing which is irritating about it is the publishers can’t contact the advertisers so that they can get a preview of the product which they are promoting,as it is worthwhile to know what you are actually asking your readers to buy.You may loose the trust of your readers if you promote some crap products.So it’s better to be careful.
   • amazon:Another popular affiliate network with almost all kinds of products.It’s now providing more tools for affiliates to incorporate their products into their websites .The Brand value ,the range of products available for promotion make it a must have affiliate program for any webmaster,even though the commission rates are a bit less.You can even build an amazon affiliate site ,with just the products and nothing else.
   • ebay:Similar in the mould of Amazon but with still wider reach.Now it has got it’s own publisher network.But people are complaining in forums that there is some problem with their affiliate tracking and their earnings are decreasing.Hopefully these problems will get solved in due course.

   Some final words before proceeding to the next part .It’s worth to mention again that affiliate marketing is the most lucrative option to make money online.It would be a better practice to first try a few affiliate programs and if they don’t work go for others,as some may work for you and some may not.Always be willing to try different methods.If possible try to invest some money as it can bring higher returns.It’s not just through affiliate networks you could do affiliate networking but you can go to an individual site and sign up under their affiliate program and promote their products.What affiliate networks do is they help you avoid the trouble of signing up individually to each affiliate program.

Build a web directory :If you are ready to spend some 3-4 hours daily,initially, and willing to spend some money in promoting your directory then web-directories can be a source of steady income.Some people have around some 20-30 web directories and are making their living out of web-directories.All you need for starting a web-directory is a good script,a webhosting package with a domain name and the right promotion.It’s not as simple as it sounds,but a little hardwork will surely pay you rich dividends.

Build a niche store :Though I already mentioned about ebay in the affiliate programs BANS definitely needs a special mention.BANS is actually a script through which Ebay affiliates can promote Ebay products .Though ebay itself provides some tools for affiliates to promote their products,it need a bit of tweaking ,which requires a bit of technical knowledge.So this is an easy way for those who don’t know about coding or who don’t want to take all that trouble can go with it.It costs 97$.But you are sure to get back your investment if you promote your BANS site properly.There is one more thing,a wordpress plugin called PHPbaypro to incorporate ebay into your site.It costs around 40$ but you need to be familiar with a bit of PHP coding.
5. Write articles: If you don’t want to build a blog or website but believe you can write compelling and useful articles then you can try this.You can write article for sitepoint,about.com,worldstart.You can get paid anywhere between 35$ to 100$.If you can write articles for these websites then you can really build a successful website.
6. Get paid to Blog:These are slightly different from the above in that you need to have a website and usually you will be writing about specific topics or products from advertisers.Some of the popular programs in this category are payperpost and reviewme .It’s usually necessary to have a blog with a good pagerank and traffic to get into these programs.Some programs allow you ti place a widget on your blog specifying the amount you will charge to write a review about any product or blog or whatever.Some popular blogs like johnchow uses reviewme on his blog and he charges 500$ per review.earnings from this type of programs form a major part of his earnings,the details of which he posts every month on his blog.So important thing is pagerank and traffic. 7. Sell an ebook: If you are an expert in anything and you think people are interested in that topic you can write your own ebook and sell it .You can sell it in various web forums or sites like clickbank. One more way of doing this thing is buy ebooks with reseller rights and again sell them at a higher rate.You can actually get a lot of e-books with reseller rights,in bulk and if possible add some of your content repackage them and sell them again at a premium.

13. Gaming:Yeah through online gaming also you can make money as various gaming sites arrange variety of contests for gamers and handout handsome prizes.One more way of making money through gaming is building an online gaming website.It doesn’t need to be a real hi fi site but a simple arcade gaming site will do.Traffic has to be brought to your site so arrange a contest ,handout prizes and do things like that and you can make money with advertisements .

Torrents: This is the hottest thing now.There are many ways you can earn money through torrents.The first one is write a e-book ,give it an attention grabbing title include your affiliate links in it and create a torrent and upload it . Be careful as some advertisers wont agree with these kind of things.If you want to circumvent this thing write an ebook include a link to your site and when the visitor comes to your site following the link you can promote your affiliate products on your site.This works in double way .You will be able to increase the traffic to your site and also increase your affiliate sites.Adult sites can benefit from this kind of thing.Get some promotional video and add a link in the video to your site somewhere in the video.You can get really massive traffic by this method.
18. Make money by uploading your pictures:shareapic allows you to upload your pictures to their site and share with others and for this you get paid money.It Works on the CPM principle i.e it pays 0.22 dollars for 1000 pic views.It also allows you to add bidvertiser code in your image and gallery pages.

Here is a guide for all those who want to increase your affiliate earnigs.

1. Content is king
   There is no getting away from this fact.Every blogger has to accept and follow this.Quality content can get quality traffic to your site and whats more you will be able to sustain that traffic,increase your brand value,provide you more back links,provide devoted readers for your blog and all this will obviously show as an increase in your affiliate earnings.So every blogger has to strive for quality not just quantity.Yeah people may say not everybody can create content like some of the top bloggers like www.doshdosh.com, Darren Rowse or www.dailyblogtips.com and there may be some element of truth in it ,but still we can try our bit and that effort should show in your posts.
2. Interlink your pages
   The more time your readers spend on your blog the more your chances of increasing your affiliate earnings.A blog with better interlinked posts will be able to keep the visitors for a much longer duration of time than a non-interlinked blog.You should also provide better exposure to your posts by placing the recently posted and most viewed posts sections in your sidebar.You could also use a tagcloud widget and an headline animator from feedburner.All these help in easy navigation for visitors and will increase the chances that they will be exposed to your other posts.Inter-linking has got one more advantage.It helps in SEO of your blog.With anchor texts containing the keywords,which you are targeting,you can easily optimize your site for search engines.
3. Create a good landing pageIf you are promoting a product by writing a review then a landing page plays an important role in increasing your affiliate earnings.Whats a good landing page? I will deal with in my next post.
4. Bring traffic to your landing page
   How to bring traffic to your landing page or for that matter to your blog?
   • PPC.
   • Social media networks
   • Build a squidoo lens and place a link to your landing page
   • Write articles and submit to article directories
   • You can also use free services like usfreeads ,craiglist to promote the product ,if the owner of the product you are promoting allows these kinds of things.

A bit of hardwork and persistence will ultimately bring results.

The first and most important thing is to choose a niche,I hope you have already done that.if not you can read my post on why to choose a niche ?.After you have chosen your niche search for the top blogs in your niche and subscribe to their feeds or newsletters,whichever you find useful.Some 3 to 4 is enough initially.May be you can use a separate feed reader and make it a habit to go through them daily for a few minutes.Usually these top blogs will be churning out posts regularly and you will be surprised to see the ideas popping in your head when you start reading those blogs.If you don’t agree with what they have written ,write a post on it on your blog noting the negative points of that particular post and use trackbacks to ping the posts.Don’t hesitate to air your opinions.But don’t over do it.Be constructive in your criticism,don’t just simply criticize just for the sake of criticizing.Who knows the other blogger may like your post and may link back to you.It’s not that you have to write only when you don’t agree on something the other blogger said.If you genuinely like a post then also you can write a post expressing your appreciation.It’s not for just criticizing or appreciating another bloggers post you need to subscribe.You will get to to know what are the things the leaders in your niche write about in their posts ? what is their style of writing ?What kind of posts people really do like ?Once you build up an audience and become popular it seems whatever you write you will just get comments and views .For example if John Chow writes wordpress has released it’s recent update people will still comment on his post.But if I write that kind of thing right now I think it will be just a waste of time and may be nuisance for the readers.We should be careful initially in what content we write as it may turn the visitor away.We should reserve those news bulletin posts for emergency.

2. Keyword research:I came across this topic while going through a post on copyblogger regarding Keyword research for bloggers.It’s a beautifully written 5-part series explaining how to go about a keyword research in the most simplest of terms.Keyword research can be a great source of ideas for new posts.You can start with some of the free tools I have mentioned in my other post free keyword tools.But if you seriously want to get into keyword research you might consider opting for some payed keyword tool likeKeyword discovery .Keyword research can also help you in better optimizing your site for search engines.
3. Join forums and participate in discussions .Forums are the best places to learn a lot about webmastering and fine tune your skills.You can get various ideas and topics which you might have never come across.You can write about some of the new topics you have found out or about some of the on-going discussions you liked.
4. If you still don’t find topics to write,then make your blog a news bulletin board and publish posts like adsense changed it’s terms and conditions or a new wordpress plugin has been released.It will keep you busy in the mean time while you are searching for posts.

Now the disadvantages

1. Choosing a niche can itself be a difficult thing
2. You will be putting all your eggs in one basket.
3. There are some niches in which you have genuine interest but it may be very difficult for your to rank higher in the search engines as there are already many authentic bloggers are there in that niche.Because of this you might be forced to choose one in which you neither have interest and expertise.One can gain expertise in a niche but it’s the interest levels which have to be sustained to keep you going.
4. Sometimes with some niche you might not be able to post regularly on your blog,and you may feel you have just ran out of ideas to write

So why choose a niche when all these disadvantages are there.The thing is when we set out to first establish a blog it’s pretty hard work.You have to learn about so many things like keywords,search engine optimization,adsense optimization ,which affiliate program will suit you most and many more things and you may be left with little time to create some quality content on your blog.That’s why if you start with a niche you can concentrate on that thing only instead of overburdening yourselves.But once you get hold of the other things you can just start many blogs relating to different niches.
