Okay, so those were hilariously small. Let me try this again (clearly I’m not going to be the one programming the new site).

You can see why I need help here. Here’s another stupidly large image, to contrast with the stupidly small ones above. But really, my new site will be all perfect-sized. Because I’m not the one creating it. I made sure of that.

First, so early it’s not even bright yet, I’ll be on NBC News in the Morning with one of my STEPPING OUT WITH BARBARELLA segments. This time, I’m talking ladybugs. Fortunately, most species match my shades of red lipstick.

After a long nap and maybe some reading, I’ll be getting dressed up to head over to the Brass Rail, where I will be co-hosting THEY SAID. You are welcome to come have a drink, hang out, and watch a group of varied genders and sexual orientations yap about cool shit in a fun way.

On another note, you can check out my writing without any waiting, here’s my current column in the Reader, about my man picking up the pieces when I recently went off my meds. It’s called CLASSIC BARB GUY for reasons you will learn when you read it.

Barbarella’s PR workshop took me from being an inexperienced, “Let-me-Google-how-to-write-a-press-release” numbskull to a much more educated and savvy promoter. Fear of being labeled as obnoxious or a too-lame bore kept me from using press releases to their full potential (okay, let’s be real… I never used them ’cause I didn’t want to humiliate myself and get perma-banned from press inboxes).

The thing I most valued about the workshop was that Barbarella made the whole PR process accessible. She explained the day-to-day life of busy producers and writers. And she walked us through the (very rapid) decision-making process of these gatekeepers. Being both a writer and someone who pitches stories, Barbarella has the unique viewpoint of knowing how to write press releases that get picked and how to choose the press releases that will be perfect for both print and TV.
