I seen Fairy Secret today! Let me tell you, it was AWESOME!

The Cast:
Diana Kaarina: Barbie
Adrian Petriw: Ken

And my eerie feeling was incorrect, Christopher Gaze wasn't there! Sorry Abbey!

The Characters:
Graciella:
(Her name prononuciation confused me! It's pronounced Grahseaella{In phonetic spelling})
She was pretty nice. Untill she was under the love spell, then she was a total airheaded b****!

Barbie:
She was the same as in Fashion Fairytale.

Raquelle:
Starts out a total b****(Again with that word!)Towards the end, she grew tolerable.

Ken:
A complete DORK! Totally HILARIOUS!

Carrie:
Hilariously clueless at some points! But totally sweet!

Taylor:
Strong, very collected.(I really like her!)

Zane:
Oh My Kelly! He suprised me! He was NOT like Gaston at all! He's sweet and caring, like Julian and Dominick from Princess and the Pauper! He speaks with a Spanish emphasis, and is just plain awesome!

The Story:
The story line was all over pretty well. The screenplay was written by Elana Lesser!(She wrote the Fairytopia Series!) Gloss Angeles wasn't that bad. Sure there was flying coffee and glitter EVERYTHING! But it was way more tolerable than Oceana.

The movie premere scene was about five minutes long. (The rip in Barbie's dress was NOT small. It went all the way up the skirt of her dress!)

Random Tidbits:
The fairy with the yellow dress in the picture where Barbie and Raquelle get they're fake wings is named Marinia or Rina. She was a human who married a fairy and now lives in Gloss Angeles.
The fairy she married is Lord Gasterous! (I almost screamed it out in the theater!) Of course his name was different, it was like Gayle or something, but I know it's him!
One of the palace guards is Spencer from Fashion Fairytale. He stopped Carrie on her way in the palace, saying "Are those Flutter Cakes?" Her reply: "Yes" His next saying: "With Buttecream frosting?" Again she said: "Yes" He asked for one, and then ate like half of it in one bite!
Zane and Graciella KISS! Sadly, Barbie and Ken do not.

From 1987 to the debut of Superstar Ken in 1977, Ken had straight, non bendable arms and a head that could only turn left and right. Ken's hair was felt in his first year but replaced with a plastic, molded haircut when the felt hair was found to fall off when wet.[2] Superstar Ken featured a dimpled smile, a head that could swivel, bent arms, a more muscular physique, jewelry, and underwear permanently molded to his body. The woman who made the Ken doll made it to resemble her husband.
In 1993, a version was released called Earring Magic Ken. The style of the doll resembled fashions among some segments of the gay community, and the doll attained a cult following.[3]
Ken's best friend, Allan Sherwood (Midge's boyfriend, later husband), was introduced in 1964. The first African-American male doll, Brad, was introduced in 1968, as the boyfriend of Barbie's African-American friend, Christie, who was introduced in 1967.[4] Brad was voiced by actor Terry Carter.

The unrealistic physiques of Barbie and Ken caused comment. Yale University psychologist, Kelly Brownell, observed that to size up to what Barbie looks for in a mate, "a man would have to grow 20 inches taller and add nearly 8 inches to his neck circumference, 11 inches to his chest and 10 inches to his waist to resemble the muscular Ken."[5]
In February, 2004, Mattel announced a split for Ken and Barbie, with Russell Arons, vice president of marketing at Mattel, saying that Barbie and Ken "feel it's time to spend some quality time – apart...Like other celebrity couples, their Hollywood romance has come to an end", though Arons indicated that the duo would "remain friends". He also hinted that the separation might be partially due to Ken's reluctance to getting married.[6] In February, 2006 however, a revamped version of the Ken doll was launched, and it appeared that their relationship was official again.[7][8]

Like Barbie, Ken is named after one of Ruth Handler's children, Ken Handler, who died in 1994 of a brain tumor. In January 2009, the media reported on the publication of a book entitled Toy Monster: The Big, Bad World of Mattel by Jerry Oppenheimer. In the book, Oppenheimer claims that Ken Handler "grew up embarrassed and humiliated by having an anatomically incorrect boy doll named after him with no hint of genitalia."[9]
In October 2009, Mattel announced a new Palm Beach line which included a Sugar Daddy Ken doll aimed for adult collectors. The said line will officially debut in the spring of 2010. The line proved to be controversial, because of Ken's suggestive-sounding name. The doll had a more mature appearance and came with a West Highland Terrier puppy. Mattel defended the doll's name, saying that the puppy's name is "Sugar", thus making Ken "Sugar's Daddy".[10]

In 2011, Mattel introduced Japan Ken, the first Ken doll to be included in the Dolls of the World collection, which was formerly a Barbie-only line. The Japan Ken doll features a new face sculpt. ^[11]

Today I listed several doll articles on eBay, one of which is about Barbie and her friends. I was hesitant to list this particular article because of the above illustration, which appears on page 5 of the 6-page article. I wanted to keep the article solely for the illustration. Since I decided to let it go, I thought it would be a good idea to share the scanned image and captions here.

Barbie, the single most successful doll ever produced, was the invention of Ruth Handler, one of the founders of the fledgling toy and novelty company, Mattel.

The petite plastic doll, named after her daughter, Barbara, made its debut on March 9, 1959 at the American International Toy Fair in New York City. For the occasion, Barbie wore a black and white striped bathing suit, shoes and sunglasses. Her price was $3, a modest sum even then. A handful of outfits was displayed alongside her, costing between $1 and $3.

At least half of the Toy Fair buyers wanted nothing to do with Barbie. There was the body, for starters, with breasts, a small waist and long legs. Then there was her expression: sullen, knowing and strangely covert. Her eyes were thickly rimmed with dark eyeliner, her lips, a candy-apple red.

Despite the initial coolness of her reception at the Toy Fair, Barbie was flying off the shelves by the summer of 1959, and stores could not keep Barbie in stock.

In her rich and varied existence, Barbie has had stints as a model, astronaut, paleontologist, Air Force jet pilot, surgeon, NASCAR driver and a rap artist. She has sung on the Grand Ole Opry, played basketball with the WNBA and run for president three times. Mattel recently conducted an online vote, asking people to select Barbie’s 125th career: Computer engineer was the winning choice.

Barbie has morphed into a legend and an icon. For Barbie is both mirror and model, reflection and avatar.

The Barbie doll was invented in 1959 by Ruth Handler (co-founder of Mattel), whose own daughter was called Barbara. Barbie was introduced to the world at the American Toy Fair in New York City. Barbie's job was teenage fashion doll. The Ken doll was named after Ruth's son and was introduced two years after Barbie in 1961.
