This thematic BarCamp is about spirituality. It’s a grassroots movement. And it is about discovering and expressing our innermost fire. When we bring our individual talents together, we can create a collective force for the benefit of the whole.

With our motto „follow your bliss“, we want to reach people who strive for what they are truly

passionate about and who are willing to invest in it. It is a way of finding our full potential and using it

to serve our communities to the greatest possible extent. The sentence “follow your bliss” from the

famous philosopher and great teacher of human mythology Joseph Campbell is also the guiding

principle of the hotel Kientalerhof, which makes it an ideal place for this event. The hotel is located in

a small village close to Spiez at the beautiful Lake of Thoune, in one of the most spectacular alpine

settings in Switzerland.

The SoulCamp is hosted by Global Spirituality, Benefactum Initiative und openmindcafe. Attendance

is free of charge and open to anyone, children are welcome. For food and accommodation we have

to charge a contribution towards expenses.

On March 1st, AR developers (Augmented Reality) will meet at IBM for a day full of discussions and sessions about this new way to interact with the world around you.

Augmented reality (AR) is a term for a live direct or indirect view of a physical real-world environment whose elements are merged with (or augmented by) virtual computer-generated imagery – creating a mixed reality.

If you are a mobile developer or generally interested in AR, this is the perfect event for you to attend, learn and see other products in action.

LawCamp in Frankfurt, 20. März 2010

Was es bislang in Deutschland noch nicht gegeben hat, ist ein LawCamp. Das wird sich jetzt ändern: Am 20. März findet in Frankfurt am Main das erste deutsche LawCamp statt.

Finde ich äusserst interessant. LawCamps waren mir bis jetzt in Europa noch nicht bekannt. Mit der Öffnung des Themengebiets ausserhalb der “Techie-Szene” (Beispiel BlogCamp, originales BarCamp Konzept) ergeben sich immer wieder neue, spannende *Camps.
Wie jedoch beim ersten schweizerischen StartupCamp letztes Jahr in Basel, wird auch für das LawCamp einige Anpassungen am Format vorgenommen:

a das Format unter Juristen vermutlich noch nicht allgemein bekannt ist, wird es mit einem Rumpfprogramm bereits feststehender Referenten gemischt. Unter diesen sind beispielsweise Jörg Heidrich vom heise Verlag, Dr. Florian Drücke vom Bundesverband Musikindustrie, Dr. Patrick Breyer vom Arbeitskreis Vorratsdatenspeicherung, Robert Bartel von der Deutschen Bahn, Bettina Robrecht von der Schufa, Lawblogger Udo Vetter und Ralf Zosel vom Beck Verlag.

Register for StartupCamp 2010 Switzerland in Basel!

The first StartupCamp in Switzerland took place in January 2009 and brought together young and future entrepreneurs in Switzerland in the process of building or planning a business in the high-tech, Web or life-science industry. The StartupCamp 2009 was such a success that the organization team clearly decided to organize another camp in 2010!

The StartupCamp aims to transfer knowledge and know how in the relaxed atmosphere of a Barcamp and to demonstrate the various possibilities to get help on your way to becoming a successful entrepreneur. Tracks can include writing a business plan, fundraising, building the right team, startup support agencies in Switzerland, web technologies, marketing & PR and much more. The attendees learn from each other and expand their network with new interesting contacts. Thanks to all sponsors this event is free for all attendees.

Date & venue

The StartupCamp Switzerland 2010 will take place in Basel on Saturday, 13 February 2010 from 10am to 5pm at the same place as last year: University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW), right at the main train station, Peter-Merian-Strasse 86, 4002 Basel. The registration opens at 9am and an after-party is planned for the evening, so reserve the whole day and evening!

Startupcamp 2010 in Basel, Feb. 13 2010

The second version of the highly successful and anticipated StartupCamp will be on February 13th 2010 again in Basel. And today the registration was opened. So if you have a Startup, work for one or plan to start your own company, you should definitely come to Basel and enjoy contacts from that scene and network.

But please hurry, there are only 160 spaces for participants. And I think they once more will go fast.

BarCamp Klagenfurt 2010

Breits zum vierten Mal findet Anfang Februar ein BarCamp in Klagenfurt statt!

Was ist ein BarCamp?
Eine Unkonferenz (das Wort gibt es tatsächlich) rund um alles, was mit Technik, vor dem Web, zu tun hat. Zwei Tage lang gibt es Diskussionen und Vorträge darum. Das Programm ist dabei nicht vorgegeben, sondern ergibt sich vor Ort.

Erlaubt ist jedes Thema, das Interessierte findet, die “Abstimmung” über die Themen erfolgt mit den “Füßen” – wem ein Thema nicht zusagt, geht einfach in eine andere Session. Vermutlich wird es zwei oder drei parallele Tracks geben.

Bei einem BarCamp gibt es auch keinerlei Beschränkungen: Der Eintritt ist frei, jeder kann kommen. Grundvoraussetzung: Man muss bereit sein, sein Wissen in weiter geben zu wollen. Denn: Wissen vermehrt sich durch Teilung!

Philippe Rochat has just opened the registration for the next BarCamp in the beautiful city of Lausanne. On October 31st the fourth BarCamp will be held at the EPFL in Lausanne.

I am very happy to announce that the registration for the next BarCamp in the Zurich area will be on October 24th at the university of applied sciences in Rapperswil (HSR).
And starting now you can add your name to the participants list on the BarCamp wiki.
Also you like to present something (like a new Javascript library, a nice hack for WPF or just talk about Open Source projects) add your name and the presentation title to the wiki as well.

This is just a short update for all interested people for the BarCamp in Rapperswil.
There are still slots open for any kind of sponsors. Currently we have around four commitments to sponsor the event. Thank you all so far! I really appreciate your support.
Second, I am still going through a very annoying and slow process for room reservation at the university. The confirmation should have arrived two weeks ago and we still are exchanging emails with the administration.

Nevertheless, mark the date: 24 of October 2009!
