Our BarCamp Yangon 2011 was successfully finish today. Tomorrow 20 Feb will be the last day and we’re hoping to see many more attendees. According to registrants data, there was 3137 barcampers. This is just online plus work in registers. So there was others who didn’t register are not include.

We would like to introduce and start using QR Code on this year #bcy2011 event and upcoming years. So If you still don’t know what’s it yet, We’ll introduce it now. This is the short quote from Wikipedia ~

QR Code is a specific matrix barcode (or two-dimensional code), readable by dedicated QR barcode readers and camera phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.

We will use QR code on advertisement and vinyl wall sheets starting from this year. It will be short URL link for this BarCamp Yangon web site and hash tag info, map data. You can use your mobile phone camera and bar code reader application on your phone to find out the hidden message. Typing long URL on mobile is also hard. If you use QR Code reader URL can load up while your phone camera scanning QR Code.

For The Location Check In Gowalla. We will support it too. Just check in at location called BarCamp Yangon 2011 (Day1 & Day2). Your check in will be displayed on projectors and on this official site within a minute. Gowalla available for free download and supports iPhone, iPad, Android, Blackberry & HP’s WebOS (Palm).
