Watching little ones grow up from tiny newborn bundles to rambunctious and hilarious kiddos is one of the best things about my job!!

One of the things I enjoy most about photographing newborns is seeing their little personalities shining through, even when they are brand new! These two little men were no exception. One kicked back and relaxed…and one a little more opinionated. So precious!

“Our bundles of joy were exactly two weeks old when we went back to the Barefoot studio (in the middle of January!). We have quite a large family and Kimberly so graciously invited all the kids in to take family shots before our newborn session began. These shots turned out amazing. I love them, but what I love even more are the photos of our twin boys. Words can not describe these incredible pictures and we still receive compliments and amazement from friends, family and even strangers! Not only did our session go wonderfully (Moms – you have to do nothing!! It is a great escape from the constant hustle of having a newborn, as Kimberly lets you relax on the couch while she does everything!), but after the session was over Kimberly helped me take the boys out to my car in the freezing cold – barefoot!! She is amazing!”

Beautiful baby Emelia with her adorably precocious older brother Liam (who was a little leary of the barefoot woman with the camera). What fun! It took some finagling, but I was elated when I captured eye contact from Liam…and a smile…are you kidding me? Emelia slept peacefully and looked ever so cute in her hat and leg warmers. “At the newborn session, you could tell this is where her passion lies. My mother-in-law and I were watching a portion of the photo shoot from the couch and we were amazed. We were joking that she was the “baby whisperer” because of the way she could move my daughter into the different poses without her even noticing. At this session too, she took her time, let me nurse my daughter when she needed, and let my daughter dictate how the session went. It was such an unforgettable, positive experience. One of my absolute favorite stages to photograph is the “sitter” stage. When little ones have just started sitting up…they’re so happy! Just smiles and drool…so fabulous. I had the pleasure of photographing Audrey when she was brand new and I was so happy to see her again. And her big brother Blake is a joy and he loves his baby sister. I love getting to meet my newborn clients at their maternity sessions first. It’s a great opportunity for us to all get to know one another a bit before baby arrives, or in this case…babies! This lucky couple was awaiting the arrival of their twin boys. And I couldn’t wait to meet those little bundles!

“I was incredibly excited about my maternity session with Kimberly. Honestly, I reviewed the pictures on her website multiple times a week pumping myself up for my turn in the studio. However, my boyfriend did not really feel the same way…that is, until he saw the photos of us. We had so much fun during our session with Kimberly. Beautiful little Ava was a little older than my typically newborn, but she was a fabulous little model. She slept peacefully and just happens to be one of the most gorgeous babies ever! What a lucky photographer I am. Thank you Samuel and Cyreena for trusting me to capture these beautiful moments.

I had the honor of capturing little Nola before and after she made her debut.  Jessie and April were an absolute joy to photograph!  Their maternity images were so beautiful and filled with love.  And when they returned with baby Nola, just a while later…we were able to capture their love increased!
