<p>This is probably the most popular myth floating in the air. Even if it lost popularity in the past years this questions go at least one time in out minds: can cigars lose weight ?&#8221;</p>

<p>On theory there is nothing in the cigars that help to lose weight, or retain less water, or anything else that has something to do with losing weight. Then, why this myth exists ? Indeed, any myth have to be based on something, on experiments, feelings, history.
<p>Have people noticed a loss in weight during the times they smoked cigars ? Probably yes, this is why the myth was created in the first place.</p>
<p>The truth is coming for a bad habit of people who usually gain weight. What we do in breaks, sometimes when we get bored, when we watch TV ? We take something to eat: peanuts, seeds, fruits, ice cream. They all have a high amount of calories. Which is the difference between smokers and non-smokers ? When they take a break, they watch tv or they get bored they smoke, we eat.
<p>This is how we can explain the fact that a lot of people experienced loss in weight during the period they smoked.</p>
<p>But wait, don&#8217;t go and buy cigars, there are alternatives. If you like to eat when you watch tv, or when you take a break try some chewing gum or some non-sugar candies instead of cigars. There are so many things you can do that can replace both snacks and cigars. Think about it, experiment and find what you like the most and stop eating in front of TV, in breaks, in the car or when you are bored.</p>

<p>Most people face big problems when dealing with weight loss. They keep trying dietes that they never accomplish, they do a lot of exercises but they never see any results, etc.
<p>The cause of this is that people rely on a single aspect. Their way of thinking is this: &#8220;if i eat less i will lose weight&#8221;, &#8220;if i run 30 minutes/day i will lose weight&#8221;. That is not true. The results can be seen by making one of these, but i can call that &#8220;favorable situation&#8221; or simply &#8220;luck.</p>
<p>To lose weight you need to take care of more aspects of your life: what you eat, what is your level of activity, etc.
<p>Here is a list with 10 tips to lose weight, if you follow at least 5 of them there is a greater chance that you will succed.<span id="more-70"></span>1. Eat less food at every meal.</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t eat anything between meals.
<p>3. Do exercises at least 30 minutes every day.
<p>4. Sleep regullary and at least 8 hours every day.
<p>5. Don&#8217;t sleep during the day.
<p>6. Don&#8217;t eat with 3-4 hours before you go to sleep.
<p>7. Eat more vegetables.
<p>8. Do some basic weight lifting every day.
<p>9. Exclude sugars and sweats from your meals.
<p>10. Count your intake calories.

<p>Well, how many times you started to lose weight ? How many times you kept your program more than 2 weeks ? There are different situations when morale kick you down.

<p>We know that the morale is probalby the most important thing when you want to maintain or lose weight. Let&#8217;s face it, the morale is responsable for you getting at this weight.<span id="more-57"></span></p>
<p>How is that ? Simple: you like to eat when you are angry. When you feel miserable you go to mcdonalds and get some french fries and then you are happy again, or at least content. It works, eating will help you when you&#8217;re upset.
<p>The truth is that the effect is short term, tommorow you will feel bad again, and again. You must resolve the real problem. Ask yourself why are you not happy, what you would make you happy ? A meal ? Wrong! The problem that you are not happy don&#8217;t come from your stomach, try do to something different, fix problems and you won&#8217;t feel the need to eat to be happy.</p>
<p>How can health survey impact your morale ? When you hear that 50% of population is obese you will think: &#8220;ah, it&#8217;s not me, it is the air who get us fat&#8221;. Well, you morale is low, and you will think that anything you can do can&#8217;t help you. The problem with winners and loosers is about the morale.

<p>Why is weight lifting benefic ? Ii improves the methabolism, it helps your heart to be stronger, decrease the risk of diabet, prevent weight gaining and makes your body to look much better even if you have a lot of fat on you. <span id="more-55"></span></p>
<p>The weight lifting takes a lot of energy. When se say energy we say calories, when we say calories we say fat. If you want to lose fat or prevent gaining you must workout with weights. You will certain lose enough calories to not gain more fat. And this is only one of the benefits of weight lifting.
<p>The methabolism is raised if you workout few days a week. Muscles are the ones who burn calories. Everything you do, even if it is walk, or run or doing house work you will lose more calories if you have more muscles. You can&#8217;t control how many calories to burn but you can control how much muscle you have.</p>
<p>Can&#8217;t believe this ? The muscles are the only one who burn calories. Maybe you heard that you burn calories even if you do nothing. It is true, you burn calories because your body needs 37 degrees celsius to live, and calories are transformed in heat. Have you ever wondered how ? The muscles !  The muscles are slightly working so they will burn the amount of energy to keep the body warm.
<p>What happens when you go out naked at 5 degrees celsius ? You are shaking ! How ? Your body told your muscles that you need so much energy that they started shaking to produce such a big amount. Then you see that shaking is not enough to produce all the heat you need and you will start to run to make them to procude more heat.</p>
<p><strong>The more muscles you have the more fat your burn!</strong>
<p>Another good aspect about muscles and weight losing is another thing that you might not know. A mit that is very false is that you do exercise for a specific muscle, you will lose fat in that place. False. The fat is lost proportional from your body. But it is another important aspect here. When you put fat on you. Even if you are on diet and do sport, there will be moments when fat will be deposited, mostly during the night. The truth is that the fat is deposited on the parts of your body where you have more muscles. The more muscles you have on a part of your body the more fat will be deposited there.
<p>Think about it, if you have muscles on arms, the fat deposited there, near the muscles will make you look that you have even more muscles. The fat will not be noticed.</p>
<p>Probably you are the most angry about the fat on your belly. To most people the fat is deposited on the belly because the abdomen is used in most non-sport activities. If you have e sedentary life you will use mostly the abdomen muscles, not others, this is why some people has so much belly fat, because they don&#8217;t train their muscles. Maybe they don&#8217;t have as much as it looks, but it is ugly.</p>
<p><strong>Train the muscles where you want the fat to be deposited in the future</strong>
<p>The weight lifting can also help your heart. How do you think that the heart pump the blood ? Yes, it has a muscle too. The heart muscle which is contracted every time the heart is pumping blood in your body.
<p>How can weight lifting help that muscle  ? When you are lifting weight your heart beat will go up, at the highest level. Doing this many times, every day that muscle will get stronger and stronger. Being stronger will prevent your heart to stop beating. You won&#8217;t have problems with the blood circulation and the risk of heart attack will be reduced.</p>
<p>There are just some good aspects of weight lifting. If you combine weight lifting with jogging or some aerobic exercices it will be much better.</p>

<p>The problems that we all get fat is because our stomach wants more and more food. When we eat more the stomach gets larger and it will ask for more food, if we give them we are trapped, it will get bigger and bigger and it is hard to stop. <span id="more-52"></span></p>
<p>If you want to lose fat but your stomach keeps asking for more food there is one solution: eat food with low calories. Well, sometimes the expression: &#8220;You eat too much, that is why you are fat&#8221; is not true. If you eat 1kg of cabbage is like eating 100g of bread.
<p>The secret is in vegetables, eat more vegetables, moderate meat, and avoid fat, sweets and breads.</p>
<p>During the time i heard many times that fruits are awesome, but i disagree. Despite the fruits don&#8217;t have too many calories, just twice as most vegetables, they are mainly carbohydrates and fruits spend very short time in your stomach. 20 minutes after you eat an apple you will be really starved. At first sight you will think that this is bullshit, you can&#8217;t get more hungry that you were before eating an Apple, but it has a logical explanation: carbohydrates are not processed in stomach, they are in intestines.
<p>The vegetables are in opposite corner, they stay a long time into your stomach, they are harder to digest. They have low calories and they will prevent your stomach to ask for food again and again.</p>
<p>So, if you follow some simple rules: eat vegetables at any meal and avoid fruits.
<p>Practically, how can you eat vegetables ? The best way is to make a salad at any meal, you eat your 150g meat with vegetables salad: tomatoes, cabbage or whatever you like. You can also order some food made from vegetables, it is just up to you what you choose. Just remember: You are not fat because you was born fat, or you are genetically programmed to be fat, You are fat as a result of actions you take every day, at every meal.</p>

<p>Well, i can tell you that 100% those things won&#8217;t work. Many of them have hidden catches, &#8220;this works only if you run 3 hours/day&#8221;, &#8220;this works only if you eat less than 1000 calories/day&#8221;, but no one looks at that facts. And the magic weight loss pills are not so magic right now, isn&#8217;t it ?<span id="more-49"></span></p>
<p>Some of the pills will really do something, they are pills that change your metabolism, or change the way that your body acts, and these changes are not good, you can have problems all your life. Think about it, if that pills have worked like magic why so many people are still obese ? Well, in most cases those pills have only slights effect that will lead you to think that they are not good at all, but they can still make some damages in your body.
<p>If you have real problems with weight, for example you are over 500 pounds, weight loss pills can be a good solution, but don&#8217;t expect too much from them. The fact that you think that those pills will work for you will make you lazy and wait everything to come from the pills not from you.</p>
<p>If you still want to make something big, go to your doctor and ask for his recommendations. He will give you some vitamins to make you not fail because you will eat less, it will give you some protein bars that will help you replace a 500 calories meal with a 150 calories protein bar.
<p>But, the real thing is when you want to lose weight, you have to eat less and to run more. You can&#8217;t do anything without those 2, except a surgery. Go and consult a nutritionist, and he will tell you some good advices on what to eat or what sport to do in order to comply with your current eat and sport lifestyle, your work system and your friends. There is no magic pill or magic book that will work for everyone.</p>
<p>If you are auto-didact, you can start reading about foods, calories, sport, weight loss, etc, and build a strategy to change your lifestyle easy, into something that you can keep for years.</p>

<p>The BMI is important because you know how much mass you have related to your height. It is good to know because your heart is not designed to carry so much weight.
