Those word struck me as we visited Washington DC this past year. Yeah, I have been holding on to this footage since the end of May..I finally felt like looking at it, what can I say….

But as I was saying, those words struck me. Words spoken by FDR….I had no idea then, how looking at those words would make me feel now….It stirs up a lot of emotion in me. I have traveled the world, witnessed things that I will take to my grave. I have learned just how small this world really is and for most of us, we all want the same things. Peace, a place to call our own, to provide for our loved ones, to just live life….

I love history, not just American history, but all history. There is so much we can learn if we just open our eyes and minds and hearts. The places you see in this video, were all places that I had never been. For all my travels, I had never visited DC. I can’t believe that I waited as long as I did. But maybe I needed to be a bit older to really appreciate it like I do know.

Watching this video now, it brings back all those emotions I felt back in May, seeing the sights, looking at history….we spend so much time ignoring the history and beauty that is right in front of us. It’s all around us, we just have to open our eyes…..It was a remarkable time for me and I plan on going back someday to see more, to learn more, to see history….

First off, yes……yes, I really am ending or I guess I should say retiring the Batman Geek. Why? well the video post I think does a pretty good job of explaining why. I edited a few things out for time sake and I repeated myself a few times, which I had to cut as well. But I think everyone will get the point. And yes, I know this video is probably anti-climatic, this big build up to ending the BMG and at the end of the day, I just tell you I want to be me. What can I say…..if being yourself was easy we would all do it all the time, right?

It’s been a long journey to get to this point…..maybe even most of my life to be honest….but regardless here I am. But that is not to say I am quitting vlogging, far from it. I may stop someday, probably will, but I am not going away….just BMG. I totally redesigned both of my sites. This one and www.heathparks.com. www.heathparks.com will become my main hub site, from there you can access anything and everything. It feels more “me” now. I would like to thank Cheryl for helping me out on a few of the logos, she really is just a great person. She taught me a lot, so much in fact that I was able to redo my vlog site this time all on my own. Which for me is a big deal, not HTML or CSS literate in the least.

My vlog site here is still not completely how I want it. But it will do for now.

I figured it couldn’t hurt and let’s be honest…… I lost my self respect a long time ago… All kidding aside, if you are on a PC, get Sony Vegas, it’s, IMO, the best editing software out there.

My head is just not into a video today….I’ve been doing a lot of thinking the last couple of days, about a lot of stuff….stuff I do want to vlog about…but I don’t want to rush it…..and to be honest, I am just beat this week….I worked a lot, didn’t sleep much and well……there you have it…..but I was looking at some of my old videos and I came across this one…..it’s one of my personal favorites and it was early on, so many of you may not have seen it. I found this footage sitting on one of my backup hard drives…..as the title states, this is from 02/01/2003, I am using an old Kodak digital camera…it was 3.1 mp….hey at the time that was a big deal……well it shot really crappy video as well, but I used it for video A LOT…..I have a bunch of footage like this sitting around….most of it’s soooo bad…..but this one was kinda fun, so I thought I would share…..
