@17092023 I’ve just watched The Last Voyage of Demeter today.

It’s not exactly a sunday movie with cowboys and indians. The movie is inspired from a section of the Braham Stoker’s Dracula. Which describes the prince of Darkness’ landing to UK from the ship known as Demeter.

So the end of the movie is obvious. Dracula and his ancestorial soil shall reach the shores pf Britain. Those shall try to resist that shall fail miserably.

The movie was not as good as it was advertised. Accepting that storytelling of the sailing voyage of Dracula’s Coffin faces a challenge for audience’s attetion direcor failed miserably.

It would he a waste of time money if I had seen this in the movie. Yet i was able to stream it. Its imdb rating 6.1 is very generous n my opinion

Güneşten de Sıcak - Tuğçe San’ın 1996 yılında çıkartığı albümü. Tek hitlik bir sanatçı. Soyadı SAN tıpkı o dönemin en ünlü organizatörü Ahmet SAN gibi , Albümün adı Güneşten Sıcak. Güneşin ingilizce okunuşu ile Soyadı aynı.Yıllar içinde Amerika’da yaşayıp bir oğlu da oldu. Albümde yer alan “Neredesin” isimli şarkısı tek hit olsa da zamanının ötesinde bir şarkıydı. My first video on youtube is 14 (fourteen) years old. Probably one of the oldest videos on youtube from Turkey.
The video is a newscast about Panda Cubs playing and certainly having fun in a Panda Kindergarden

It has been 14 years since I’ve shared this video. You must be aware that Youtube is only 16 years old. It’s not bad for a guy in Turkey to share a video on youtube 14 years ago.

I did not have a decent camera on my mobile or a decent internet connection then. Smartphones were rare then because of limitations on their functionality.

The computer I owned then is considered a joke today. Even my 10 year old son’s “ancient iPhone 4s” (year 2021) is more powerful than the computer I owned 14 years ago.

When this news was broadcasted Pandas were considered endangered species. Protected by Chinese government.

This is a Chinese Panda kindergarden. Panda cubs separated from their parents fed by special formula rather than bambu until a certain age. When they’re a certain age Pandas are released in to the wild.

Things men do in the name of protecting species from extinction can be considered cruel and sometimes inhumane.
What'is humane by the way? Can we call wars, pollution, extinction, plagues all created by men humane?

14 years ago China was not exactly superpower yet still producing hard for the whole planet. Polluting and consuming world resources so much that even Pandas were about to get extinct. Then the government reached out assigned carers and saved them.

Yet the Chinese government decidede to interfere and chose Pandas to save from extinction. The chose Pandas over chinese River Dolphins (Lipotes vexillifer). Not both of the species just one the cute ones which can be filmed better a better PR opportunity. The Chinese river Dolphins, is native to the Yangtze River. (which is home to almost 12% of world’s population. Working for worlds production and polluting the river runs through it). There are only five extant species of river dolphins left in the world today and they are all endangered or critically endangered, probably extinct.

This is because pollution, dams, shipping and bycatch have taken their toll on this iconic species while iPhones and other stuff produced by Chinese for us to consume .

Then we thought Pandas playing in snow was cute. Well it’s still cute but also sad cubs growing without parents but with goverment assigned wildlife carers.

Yüzlerce belki binlerce can kaybı söz konusu.

Dere yatağına ev yapılmaz mı? Yapılır tabiiiki ıslah edilen dere yatağına binaya izin veren belediye dere yatağının bakımının da sorumluluğunu almış demektir.

Kastamonu Belediyesi ben Taşkınovasına yerleşim ve imara izin veriyorum bu kanalın içinde suyu düzenli olarak akmasını sağlayacak bakım ve temizliği yapacağını taahhüdünü de veriyorum anlamına geliyor.

Evet m2 ye 300 400 kg yağış düştü ama o su zaten ıslah edilen yatağa ulaşsa kolayca akıp denize ulaşacaktı.

Tomruk, moloz, çöp atıklar ilçe merkezindeki köprünün altını tıkayıp suyu biriktiriyor.

Biriken su köprüyü engelleri yakarak taşkın ovadaki eski alanına sahip çıktı.

Olan canlara oldu.

Belediye Orman bakanlığının tercihleri zincirleme bir reaksiyon ile felakete sebep olmuş. Nasıl araba aldıysan bakımını yaptırıp kurallara uyuyorsan

Islah edilmiş dere yataklarını imara açıyorsan kanalları temiz tutacaksın tutamayanlar için de belediye bu kanallardan suyun sorunsuz akması için temizliğini yapacak. Çünkü bunun için vergi alıyor

Olay m2 300 400 kg yağışa bağlamak değil. Doğaya hükmetmek mümkün değil ama olağanüstü şartlar için azami güvenlik gereklerini yerine getirmekte imtina etmemek lazım

Battlestar Galactica remake wasn’t flashy and ridiculous. It was brooding and bleak, full of deeply flawed characters who drank too much and glowered alone in their bunkers. Moore had given NBC a show that resembled Mad Men in Zero Gravity – which was especially impressive as the actual Mad Men didn’t even exist at that point.
They also did their best to turn the show’s bespoke expletive of “frack” into a swear word in the real world.
The real genius of Battlestar Galactica lies in its villains. By contrast the Cylons are evangelists convinced it is their moral duty to obliterate the “Twelve Colonies” that are home to mankind and assume their rightful place as rulers of the galaxy. They are machines who rose up against their creators (i.e. us). And they see their domination as the logical next step in evolution.
The gripping twist. The Cylons are monotheists who believe they are chosen by the one true god. Humans by contrast, worships a hodgepodge of deities – much as indigenous people across the world did before organised religion came thundering through.
Who, then, are we the viewers to empathise with? The baddies, with their relatively familiar spiritual framework? Or the pagan heroes?
During its third season that Battlestar Galactica grasps the live rail in earnest. The surviving humans have been tracked down by the Cylons and imprisoned on the planet of “New Caprica” (“Old Caprica” being the most populous of the colonies). To fight back against the occupation, the good guys mount a guerrilla campaign with roadside explosives and suicide bombings. Did this remind you of something.

These scenes were beamed into living rooms across the world as the US was becoming bloodily bogged down in Iraq. Here was a TV show casting suicide bombers as the heroes. It was stunningly transgressive and still feels so 14 years later.

The Error in The Ways of Venture Backed Initatives:

Covid-19 based pandemic changed the ways of globalism deeply in the past 3 months more than the previous decade. Yet, there are still many things that don’t make sense about global capitalism. The incredible speed of capital travelling between the countries, algorithmic millisecond trading that screwing up any prospects of individuals that choose to trade daily; and of course venture-backed monstrosities like scooter- sharing, workspace-sharing, ride-sharing and also food delivery and take out service models.

I’m aware some of those services provide great convenience. I remember before the times, changed how I interacted with the places order food. Magnets with telephone numbers covering the fridge or any other metallic surface in the house. Magnets of expired business with invalid phone numbers was a mess.

The thing is, once backed up with venture capital those initiatives that we believe provide those convenient services and prices start to promise their investors, more than the return and convenience of their initial business model. That’s done in order to continue burning through a reality-warping amount of cash in a way that upends the basic economics of things like taxi service and food delivery and fail, intentionally, to turn a profit.

The current venture capital model is broken. There are these insanely large pools of capital creating an incredibly inefficient money-losing business model. Cash is burned to subsidize an unattainable customer convenience. They also risk damaging an eco-system of small businesses or trade guilds. You claim you create employment yet only decrease the average income of a business or service of licenced professionals. There’s also damage on the workforce (in the long run) and social security systems to minimize your genuine labor expenses.

Those companies target their capital on customer acquisition. At the end, only viable promise can be a monopoly concentration and increased prices. But is that even viable? Is there any developed or democratic government that would allow this in their eco-system. Look at european union, japan

Facebook has become a giant that doesn’t need to innovate but, imitate the innovation from others. Facebook gets away with it every time. The massive number of people (and their data) on their platforms transformed Facebook into this huge distribution channel. Facebook is massive and powerful. We’re all aware that there are not many companies out there benefiting from the global pandemic, due to the nature of their business. Although it’s not a mask or sanitizer producer Netflix is one of the very few companies that proved its business model and distribution strategy is worthy. As pandemic has kept billions of people at home with nothing to do but stream, It also proved its world expansion strategy was the right choice and differentiated it from almost all of its rivals. Disney is a brand which most of the kids of many generations knew. The kids of the Pandemic will probably know more about Netflix and Youtube than Disney. This outcome of course would not be realised if Disney did not choose remove all of its own and acquired content (such as Marvel, StarWars, X-Men and Pixar) from #Netflix and release them to it own streaming service with not global but limited availability. They might be much better place if they chose to let them exist on Netflix with a huge Disney Logo right at the begining.

Netflix’s recent boom didn’t start until mid-March, when more people were forced to stay home to help curb the spread of the novel coronavirus, a series of popular, original shows and movies helped Netflix boost subscribers in its first quarter. Netflix added 15.8 million subscribers, more than double its expected 7.2 million that were expected. The company also saw quarterly revenue of $5.77 billion vs. the $5.76 billion estimated.

While almost all productions are largely paused around the world, Netflix also benefits from a large pipeline of content that was either complete and ready for launch or in post-production when filming stopped. One of the biggest advantages Netflix has over its competitors ties directly into its release strategy; because full seasons of shows are available at once, Netflix has to have full seasons ready to go. That means TV shows it has in the pipeline for May, June, and July are fully complete seasons, so Netflix doesn’t have to worry about filming more episodes like networks or streaming services with traditional productions do.
