mom thought it would be fun to see how i spend my days while home alone. so far today i have done a little bathing, napped in my kennel (of course), retreated to nap on the cool bathroom floor for a bit, stared at the camera (trying to "speak" to my viewers), and watched eddy walk by a few times. here... see for yourself!

hi everyone!

i've been having a fun summer so far. i finally got a fenced in yard so i can run around in circles as much as i want with no leash! i love it. eddy even gets to join me outside sometimes, but he just hides under the deck and eats weeds. hmm... boring!

obedience school is so much fun. i have been learning so many things, and most of the time i am pretty well behaved. mom gets frustrated sometimes, but she and dad are learning lots too!

i am now completely healed from my fix-it surgery. mom and dad were wondering about me, because i was a little weird for the first week or so... i'd like to see them walk around with a cone on their heads and not be able to bathe for a week! i bet they wouldn't take it so well either!

i just started a new round of dog school, i am now an advanced beginner! it should be fun, and there are only 8 dogs in my class so i get a lot of attention. the trainer says we will be training off the leash by the end of the class! i think that worries mom a little bit, especially after my race through the neighborhood last night...

dad was quite surprised by what he saw in my kennel last night. i guess eddy and i can get along sometimes!

i didn't let mom and dad sleep very well last night. i was constantly up moving around and readjusting. life is so uncomfortable these days! hopefully i'll be all back to myself soon.

well i made it through the surgery just fine. i am very groggy and whiny, but i just need to rest a little, then i'll be better! i want to play so bad, but it hurts! and they gave me this silly cone head thing so i don't lick my wound. i feel so ridiculous i don't even want to move.

(blogger is being silly, i can't get the picture to turn out right!! for now, just turn your head! it's got to be easier than me trying to navigate around with this stinkin' cone!)

my trip to the lake

a few weeks ago i got to take my first trip to the lake... i loved it! i learned to swim, went for a paddle boat ride, and ate a few creatures. i also got to meet my new friend scout. we got a long pretty well! here are a few pictures from my adventure!

hey, baxter here. sorry for the lapse in posts. mom was busy with school and wouldn't let me use the computer! now that she's done with the semester i can update you on my life...

i am growing lots, i am 36 lbs now! two days ago i lost both my big bottom teeth. mom wondered why eddy was all bloody after we got done playing, it was because i had lost my teeth i guess! she tried to get a picture of my mouth, but i am just too darn quick.

obedience school has been going well. we are learning how to heel, sit, stay, and u-turn! there are lots of other dogs, but i can pay attention pretty well. it is fun, but it wears me out!

doggy detention

i started puppy school again last night, this time it's beginner class! i was lucky to be there, because mom and dad apparently didn't get the memo that the first night dogs don't come! well anyway, i volunteered to go on the floor with the trainer and i did a pretty good job of demonstrating how a naughty puppy is trained. he really whipped me into shape. he also said i was spoiled rotten! :) it was pretty fun and i can't wait to give mom and dad a good run for their money for the next seven weeks of training!

i had a great time staying with christa and crew while mom and dad were off in sunny california! they said i was a good boy but they thought i woke up too early... i don't think 5 a.m. is that bad! i made a new dog buddy--luke and some cat buddies--sophie and bailey. bailey sure was not a fan of me though...

i bet you didn't think i'd write again so soon! well it was an interesting sunday for me!! eddy and i were playing and i think he got me in the eye. i had yellow goop oozing out of my eye all day and it hurt a little! then dad was picking up poop and found one with a big worm in it! SO this morning mom made a quick call to the vet and we went there to get me checked out. the good news is that my eye isn't scratched, but i might have worms! so i got these yummy little pills and some eye cream. it wasn't that bad!

this might have been the final blow...

it's been a long time!

woah! it has been forever since i have blogged! i guess i have been so busy i haven't had a chance! well, i have a lot to tell you about so here it goes...

i have been to the vet a few times and i am all up to date on my shots! i'm also a whopping 25 pounds!! next time i go i get fixed, whatever that means, i didn't know i was broken! oh well.

i am just about done with puppy kindergarten--just one week left! it is so much fun to see and play with all the other pups there. there are a few golden retrievers, a saint bernard, my buddy harley, AND my SISTER addy! last week we had so much fun playing. we look so much alike, too!

a few weeks ago i took a long road trip with mom and dad to jackson and blue earth for grandma's 85th birthday party. cousin emily was my #1 fan! we had a great time! i was great for the car ride, too. i pretty much slept the whole time (dad, too!)

a while ago mom went to the cities for a few days for bpa and when she came back dad and i surprised here with a cake. isn't my party hat awesome?!

a visitor

i had a visitor this weekend. cousin harley stayed here over night on saturday while lee and stacie went to jackson. man, i don't know if that dog ever sleeps! we just wrestled and played the whole time! mom and dad got tired of all the craziness and took me to petsmart for a little while just to give harley some time to relax (although we heard from the neighbor that he barked the whole 2 hours we were gone!) i was the hit of the store (it's my stunning good looks) and i even got some new treats that taste awesome--like blueberries! even my mom and dad think they smell good!

i bet you're been wondering what i've been up to lately! well, i LOVE to bite everything. mom keeps telling me i'm going to fail puppy kindergarten (i start in march!) i have put on a few pounds in the last week and a half. when i got here i weighed 5 1/2 lbs and now i weigh 8 1/2 lbs!

i got a new toy lobster that i love to wrestle with. he wears me out thought!

well, dad is off working in the cities all week, so it's just mom and me. lucky me, she comes home every day at lunch to let me outside to do my business! i've even been on a few walks around the block, but not every day because it is SO cold!
