Garsh Darn this song is like the theme to Barney & Friends. It stays in your head for hours and you get kind of embarrassed for singing along loudly but, it just feels so good.

Thanks to everyone that came to the Potluck on Saturday. Great turn out and the food was on point. When was the last time you had two kinds of curry at a church picnic?! Nothing is better than being drunk and being able to stumble over to a buffet. We will do it again soon.

A commercial has never worked this well on me.

I just spent 300% more on windshield wiper blades than I ever thought I would. Why? As I walked around Auto Zone all I could think was “I am tired of my blades having 6 pressure points. That’s ridiculous. Why does my rain always have to go DOWN? I want UP rain.”

No kidding. This add got me.

That being said, they are some badass blades.

Finally, Heinz reinvents the ketchup packet! Now you can dip - OR - squeeze. And it holds 3x the ketchup - so less handfuls of ketchup packets.

Genius. I am so ridiculously excited about this.

“Heinz, which sells more than 11 million ketchup packets a year, will continue to sell its traditional foil packets as well, ABC News reported. The new packaging is getting a road test in the Midwest and Southwest this summer and is expected to be available in fast-food restaurants this fall.

In addition to updating the ketchup packet, Heinz is reducing the sodium content of its core line of ketchup products by 15 percent. It’s also launching Simply Heinz Tomato Ketchup, which uses sugar in place of high-fructose corn sweetener.”

What do I do now?

So school started back almost a month ago. Not for me but for, what seems like, EVERYONE else on earth. When you surround yourself with students, it is kind of a slap to your reality when you suddenly no longer are one yourself. You have to replace all the “I hate that about that class” with “I hated that”. It’s a small change but one that I now make daily.

So what am I doing? I’m waiting. Waiting on my sister to get married at the beginning of the summer.Wanting to be here for that and not worry about asking for vacation from a brand new job right out of the gate, has forced me to slow down. This is the first time in my life that I haven’t been in school. It was kind of nice to do nothing for a few weeks but now I am itching for something more.

I decided to make a list. A list of all the things I have said I couldn’t do in the last year because I was “to busy”. So here is what I am doing with my Spring:

1) Buy a new road bike & start riding like a boss
2) Fully commit to my new workout regimen
3) Read 4 Non-Fiction & 4 Fiction books
4) Finish Rosetta Stone, French, Lesson 1
5) Launch new site I have been talking about for 6 months
6) Buy a new suit

I think that is it but I may add to it as the weeks progress. I am posting these so people will help me stay on target.

I have been reading a lot about lifestyle design and books with deceptively lame title’s like Tim Ferriss’ 4-Hour Work Week and wow, I am so stoked to be at the position in my life I am, and the opportunities and adventures I plan on having.

And that was my posi-on-life post of the week!

BEST DRIVE TO WORK EVER!

So here is what happened: I was party driving to work this morning, listening to the ultimate in mood reversal songs: Party Hard. Just about the time I was screaming:

I see those flashing red and blue lights I have learned to accept as a price you pay for driving a white Ford Lustang. I pull over, turn off the car and wait for Bro-Cop. Once at my window Bro-Cop gives the standard script about why I was pulled over (64 in a 55) and asked “Why are you in such a hurry?”

At this point I was just honest. “Officer, I am driving to work and listening to some really party music.” Yes I said party music. The guy was younger and unless you are a girl, once those lights go on, you are not getting out of the ticket. What do you have to lose?!

Then Bro-Cop surprised me, “Is that Andrew WK?” He was looking at the screen on my iPhone which was on my lap. “Hell yeah it is, why do you think I was doing 9 over?”

Honest to God, Bro-Cop just laughs, steps back a bit, and says “Get out of here man, go to work and slow down.”

Stunned. Did I just party my way out of a ticket?! He walked away, I continued onto work and almost had to pull over due to the insta-drunk that hit me from all the posi-vibes I had just experienced.

Now I am at work, waiting for customers so I can give them free phones and pay this junk forward.

I saw this documentary a few years ago, it is astounding how influential this beat is. It reminds me of the infamous The Wilhelm Scream, another one of those things that, once you are aware of it, suddenly is everywhere. Like a new word.

This sample was used extensively in early hiphop and sample-based music, and became the basis for drum-and-bass and jungle music — a six-second clip that spawned several entire subcultures. Nate Harrison’s 2004 video is a meditation on the ownership of culture, the nature of art and creativity, and the history of a remarkable music clip.
