India, May 23, 2013: BlackBerry today announced the introduction of new EMI Schemes, for ‘BlackBerry Z10’ and ‘BlackBerry Curve 9220’ devices in India.  Customers can now buy the BlackBerry Z10 via their credit cards (Axis Bank, Citibank, HDFC bank, HSBC, ICICI Bank, Kotak, SBI Card and Standard Chartered) by paying an EMI of Rs 4799 per month for 9 months. A similar scheme for BlackBerry Curve 9220 is available where customers can use their credit card to buy the device and pay an EMI of Rs 799 per month for 12 months.
 
Both the schemes have the unique feature of Rs.0 down payment, 0% processing fee and 0% interest and the plan will be rolled out in 3000 BlackBerry outlets across the country by this weekend. On top of it all Idea Cellular customers can avail a full 1-year unlimited data plan at just Rs. 999/year in 8* circles. The implementation of this scheme will be facilitated and overlooked by the financing companies and the carriers will have no role in the process.
 
The launch of this plan reasserts BlackBerry’s commitment to make smartphone experience more accessible and affordable to the masses, especially the upwardly mobile youth. 4. Now go back to Settings > About & choose Network category from the slide-down menu
5.  Note IPv4 number E.g. 192.168.1.101
6. Now run DDPB Installer on PC & enter the IPv4 number into ‘PlayBook IP Adress’ space along with device password you entered on Z10/Q10
7. Click ‘Connect’ & your phone will be connected to DDPB Installer, If any error prompts, re-check the IP entered
8. Now click on Add & choose the Google Maps bar file downloaded. Check the Google Maps tick mark in listing window & click Install
9. A new window pops-up showing process & once its done you will have Google Maps on your Z10/Q10
10. Now go back into Security and Privacy > Development Mode & turn off development mode. Remove password if you don’t want any from Security and Privacy > Device Password

Note: Forget about ‘Cancel’ button on pop-up window. Just hit it when appears

BlackBerry stepping out in different manner to engage their target audience apart from visual advertisements in India. BlackBerry India Marketing Director, Ashish Gupta had a talk with ZDNet and shared how they are Marketing it in Indian major cities. In April, BlackBerry offered around 130 Barista and Cafe Coffee Day franchises in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore to demonstrate the BlackBerry Z10 to the walk-in customers. Ashish Gupta adds over 70% of these cafe customers were abode by the demonstration and projected 50% conversion rate.

This really helped people to know much about the new BlackBerry 10 and onto the ratio of 1:10 asked the company to contact them on purchasing the device. Out of which 82% actually bought the BlackBerry Z10. There were no actual sales figures shared but this campaign facilitated 22,000 demonstrations.

“All marketing needs to reach your target audience. You need to find new and unique ways to reach your segment. The era of just going to mass marketing is over,” Gupta said.

This campaign will continue to expand to other cities – Lucknow, Kolkata, Ahmadabad and Pune soon.

What is BBM Channels?

Today we’d like to introduce BBM Channels; a new way to connect you to your social network and communities of interest. We see BlackBerry Messenger as a platform with endless opportunities for growth and for connecting individuals and groups to what they’re passionate about. BBM Channels allows you to connect to the communities, personas, and brands that you love – in real time.

Choose which channels you’d like to follow, and as a subscriber you can receive, comment, and share timely updates that allow you to stay on top of your interests and communities. Essentially, BBM Channels gives you the immediacy of an instant communications experience but with access to a much wider community.

You also have the option to create your own channel – a great opportunity for large groups, brands, businesses, non-profit organizations, sports teams, and you to reach fans and followers. Just after releasing a hefty 10.1 software update last night, the BlackBerry team lists upcoming addons to BlackBerry 10 in their next electrifying 10.2 software update. Alec Saunders, VP Developer Relations at BlackBerry, addresses the future possibilities to developers in BlackBerry Jam Americas conference at BlackBerry Live. This new OS 10.2 is scheduled to release in coming months & some of it’s features are listed below.

Headless apps

Headless apps will be able to run in the background or be triggered instead of showing up and running as a pane.

USB Host Capability

This should allow you to connect usb sticks to BlackBerry devices and transfer files.

WiFi Direct and Miracast

This will allow Wi-Fi connectivity directly between devices instead of going through a router.  This will essentially act like Bluetooth, but use the Wi-Fi radio for faster transfer speeds. Miracast will use Wi-Fi Direct for high bandwidth transmission of video to an external display.

Flurry Analytics

BlackBerry will support the analytics solution called Flurry which can help developers understand their customers better and create better apps via analytics solutions.

Smart cards

Smart card support will allow BlackBerry 10 devices to act as access cards to physical buildings/rooms via NFC.

Altimeter

The altimeter would allow developers to make apps that can use altitude information.  This is either access to an existing barometer in the Z10, or simply a way to obtain altitude information from a GPS location.

Geofencing

Geofencing on BlackBerry smartphones will allow developers the ability to create apps which work or respond depending on a precise area you’re in.  This can be useful for securing smartphones for business within a complex, or an application for notifying whether your child leaves a certain virtual area.

Android Jelly Bean Support

Along with OS 10.2, BlackBerry should be rolling out support for Android Jelly Bean Apps.  This should bring in many new high-quality Android apps that are designed for the latest Android smartphones.

3. Switch on ‘Use Development Mode’. If your phone doesn’t have a password lock, enter any password when prompted. E.g. your name (Not 123, abc etc)
4. Now go back to Settings > About & choose Network category from the slide-down menu
5.  Note IPv4 number E.g. 192.168.1.101
6. Now run DDPB Installer on PC & enter the IPv4 number into ‘PlayBook IP Adress’ space along with device password you entered on Z10
7. Click ‘Connect’ & your phone will be connected to DDPB Installer, If any error prompts, re-check the IP entered
8. Now click on Add & choose the Instagram bar file downloaded. Check the Instagram tick mark in listing window & click Install
9. A new window pops-up showing process & once its done you will have Instagram on your Z10
10. Now go back into Security and Privacy > Development Mode & turn off development mode. Remove password if you don’t want any from Security and Privacy > Device Password

Note: Forget about ‘Cancel’ button on pop-up window. Just hit it when appears
