Continúan las reacciones negativas ante las leyes antipiratería estadounidenses. A pesar de estar paralizada, la ley SOPA ha despertado una airada reacción de la comisaria europea de Interior, que ha señalado que es "una mala propuesta" y que "sopa en sueco significa basura".

La ley antipiratería de Estados Unidos, conocida por sus siglas SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act), sigue despertando todo tipo de críticas negativas. La firme oposición de la comunidad internauta así como de las principales compañías de contenidos en Internet como Google o Facebook llevaron a la clase política del país norteamericano a paralizarla y a plantearse una reforma. Su severa defensa de la propiedad intelectual pasaba por encima de los derechos de los usuarios y suponía un auténtico freno a la innovación en la Red, por lo que, a pesar de las críticas de la industria cultural, se ha acabado aplazando su implantación.

Desde Europa nunca se vio con buenos ojos el proyecto al otro lado del océano Atlántico. Hace sólo unos días la comisaria europea de Justicia, Viviane Reading, criticaba la medida propuesta en Estados Unidos. "La protección de los derechos de autor no puede ser utilizada como pretexto frente a la libertad en Internet", explicaba al mostrar su opinión contraria a SOPA y al bloqueo de webs en Internet.

En esta ocasión ha sido Cecilia Malm-ström, comisaria europea de Interior, quien ha mostrado su visión negativa de SOPA. Nuevas acciones de Anonymous en protesta por las leyes antipiratería estadounidenses y la intervención del FBI contra Megaupload. El colectivo se hizo con el control de la cuenta de Twitter de un senador favorable a PIPA, así como derribó las webs del canal televisivo CBS y la discográfica Universal Music.

El grupo de ciberactivistas Anonymous sigue su particular cruzada en la Red después de la guerra desatada a finales de la pasada semana con el cierre de Megaupload, hecho que coincide en el tiempo con los intentos de la clase política estadounidense de impulsar las leyes antipiratería SOPA y PIPA. Aunque desde el colectivo han marcado en el calendario el mes de marzo como fecha en la que emprenderán numerosas acciones, siguen anticipando lo que son capaces de hacer.

En esta ocasión consiguieron hacerse con el control de la cuenta de Twitter del senador republicano por Iowa Chuck Grassley, uno de los impulsores en la cámara de la legislación antipiratería PIPA. "Queridos ciudadanos de Iowa. Votad contra ACTA, SOPA y PIPA porque este hombre, Chuck Grassley, quiere vuestro Internet censurado", escribió el hacker en la red social. Aunque horas más tarde el político consiguió hacerse con el control de su cuenta y borrar los tweets de los hackers, sí dio tiempo a varios mensajes más del mismo estilo.

Ataques contra discográficas

No obstante, la acción contra el republicano no fue la única que se dio en el día de ayer. La más llamativa, y de la que nos hicimos eco, fue la difusión de una lista con toda la discografía de Sony publicada durante la última década. El listado incluía de forma ordenada y concisa los enlaces a la red de intercambio de archivos BitTorrent para que los usuarios descargasen cualquier álbum de este sello. La acción dio lugar por el apoyo de esta compañía a las leyes antipiratería y la constante presión hacia las instituciones para que intenten salvaguardar su antiguo modelo de negocio a toda costa.

Tal y como avisó la plataforma de ciberactivistas, el ataque a Sony no fue el único. Universal Music, otra de las discográficas más beligerantes con las descargas y que recientemente entró en conflicto directo con Megaupload, también fue blanco de Anonymous. El colectivo logró tumbar su web con un ataque de denegación de servicio. Asimismo, la web del canal de televisión estadounidense CBS también fue atacada de forma masiva por el grupo de hackers. En definitiva, nuevos episodios que se unen a un historial de ataques que ha crecido en el último año conforme los gobiernos han apostado por leyes antipiratería que pretenden acabar con el concepto de Internet libre que impera hasta ahora.

Los reguladores de la Comisión Federal de Comercio de EE UU (FTC, sus siglas en inglés) están investigando si la presunta manipulación de Google en sus resultados de búsqueda para favorecer sus propios productos se ha ampliado a Google+, la nueva red social de la compañía, según aseguró una fuente familiarizada con la investigación.

La red social, lanzada el pasado mes de junio, ofrece muchas de las características disponibles en la red de microblog Twitter y en la red social Facebook.
El pasado martes, Google anunció nuevas funciones destinadas a Google+ para hacer los resultados de búsqueda más personalizados. Como parte de los cambios, las fotos y los mensajes de Google aparecen cada vez más en los resultados de búsqueda.
Sin embargo, un portavoz de la compañía de Internet asegura que la Comisión Federal de Comercio no preguntó por Google+ o indicó que comenzaría a investigar la nueva red social a partir de esta semana.
