Symposium 2019

The BCPSEA 2019 Symposium: Insight and Opportunities, Human Resources in Education, will be held Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel, 1180 West Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC.

Accommodation

A block of rooms is being held at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel at a special rate of $165 per night (not including taxes). The rate will be honoured based on availability and will be in effect until October 15, 2019. After October 15, the hotel will continue to accept reservations on a space available basis at current available rates.

Delegates are required to make their own reservations as soon as possible and arrange payment directly with the hotel. When calling the hotel, delegates must request the central reservations department and indicate they are attending the BCPSEA 2019 Fall Symposium to ensure they receive the special conference rate. Article E.2 Harassment/Sexual Harassment Training

BCPSEA is offering a variety of harassment training programs to assist school districts in the administration of Article E.2 of the Provincial Collective Agreement between the BC Teachers’ Federation and the BC Public School Employers’ Association.

These training programs are designed to provide districts with appropriately trained individuals in order to satisfy the requirements of the Provincial Collective Agreement, Article E.2 Harassment/Sexual Harassment. While these programs focus on the provisions of the teacher agreement, the concepts and skills are also useful to individuals with management responsibility for support staff.

New Trustee Orientation - Registration

In order to assist new trustees assume their duties, BCPSEA has organized an orientation session specifically designed for newly elected trustees. Our interactive program will discuss how BCPSEA and school districts fit within the Public Sector Employers' Council structure, legislation with employment implications, and how BCPSEA services are organized to support districts to promote great workplaces, engaged employees, and a positive public education experience for BC students.

The New Trustee Orientation is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2015 (the day prior to AGM 21) at the Hilton Vancouver Airport Hotel, 5911 Minoru Blvd., Richmond, BC.

Although the New Trustee Orientation is designed for new trustees, all trustees are welcome to attend.
