Can you make a decent income online?

Yes, absolutely. At the very least, a high five-figure annual income is certainly an attainable goal for an individual working full-time from home. I’m making a healthy income from StevePavlina.com, and the site is only 19 months old… barely a toddler. If you have a day job, it will take longer to generate a livable income, but it can still be done part-time if you’re willing to devote a lot of your spare time to it. I’ve always done it full-time.

Can most people do it?

No, they can’t. I hope it doesn’t shock you to see a personal development web site use the dreaded C-word. But I happen to agree with those who say that 99% of people who try to generate serious income from their blogs will fail. The tagline for this site is “Personal Development for Smart People.” And unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook), smart people are a minority on this planet. So while most people can’t make a living this way, I would say that most smart people can. How do you know whether or not you qualify as smart? Here’s a good rule of thumb: If you have to ask the question, you aren’t.

If that last paragraph doesn’t flood my inbox with flames, I don’t know what will. OK, actually I do.

This kind of 99-1 ratio isn’t unique to blogging though. You’ll see it in any field with relatively low barriers to entry. What percentage of wannabe actors, musicians, or athletes ever make enough money from their passions to support themselves? It doesn’t take much effort to start a blog these days — almost anyone can do it. Talent counts for something, and the talent that matters in blogging is intelligence. But that just gets you in the door. You need to specifically apply your intelligence to one particular talent. And the best words I can think of to describe that particular talent are: web savvy.

If you are very web savvy, or if you can learn to become very web savvy, then you have an excellent shot of making enough money from your blog to cover all your living expenses… and then some. But if becoming truly web savvy is more than your gray matter can handle, then I’ll offer this advice: Don’t quit your day job.

A Malaysian consortium reportedly submitted an £80m bid to Mike Ashley for control of Newcastle United yesterday. The Malaysians, who were shown round St James' Park on Thursday after watching the slightly bemused players being put through their paces at the training ground, seemingly made their offer on a day when Seymour Pierce, the investment bank brokering the sale, was also hoping for rival bids from at least two of the other three consortiums which have been carrying out due diligence at the club.

All interested parties have signed non-disclosure agreements and their identities remain closely guarded secrets although Freddy Shepherd, Newcastle's former chairman, is involved with one of them.

Another consortium, from the United States, had been regarded as the favorite but, when the Malaysians flew to London with Derek Llambias, Newcastle's managing director, on Thursday evening and immediately met Seymour Pierce, that perception changed.

Ashley, who wants £100m for the club and will take a thumping loss on his investment, is likely to spend the weekend pondering his options but, before any substantive progress is made, one consortium will need to sign a sales-purchase agreement. That would set the takeover in full motion and allow the appointment of a manager – most probably, though not definitely, Shearer.

Despite Seymour Pierce's optimism that a deal can be quickly concluded, nothing is certain and some observers fear that legal and financial barriers could dictate that things are destined to drag on for a few more weeks yet.

So you want to make money online. It’s a lot easier than you think. You may have heard that you need money to make money, but when making money online that is not the case. This is no make quick money rich thing, but it will at least make you some cash and from there you can expand.

Well you do need at least some money before making the big money, but I can show you how to get that. First, you want to make some money by forum posting. You can make 10 to 20 cents per post, and it adds up quick. I recommend Digital Point forums to find forum posting jobs.
You could also write articles. You can sell your articles for up to 5 dollars on the Digital Point forums. Make sure that you write about something you know about that you think people will actually buy.

You actually need some writing skill too, but it’s not like there expecting you to be Shakespeare.

Designing is definitely the best way to make some start-up cash. Design logos for people and charge around 50 dollars. Design sites or blogs and charge 200 or 300. There is a ton you can do and jobs are plentiful. Try to build up a decent portfolio because that will help you make money later.

Now, you can buy a domain. You want to try and buy a good .com or .net one. Build a blog or site on it and load it with articles. Make sure that it has a good design or it will ward off potential buyers.

Now try to sell it in forums. You want to try to get money based on how many articles there are. For 10 articles you should get 150 dollars.

Once you do that invest the money to buy articles for more blogs or sites. Then you can repeat the process.

This can eventually make you a ton of money. Think about it, 16 blogs times 150 is 2000 dollars. Keep expanding and you can make a full income doing it.
