Ringgold tornado aftermath

Listen to the stories of those who survived the Ringgold Tornado of April 27, 2011. This video compiles video and photographic footage obtained during the aftermath of the disaster. This is my hometown and I have never been so proud of Ringgold residents. The spirite I felt was touching. I also want to add that I felt a sense of organization and structure by all of the workers involved. It was amazing seeing all of the linesman, police and charity workers quickly stepping in to help.

Dalton State…a day in the life

Beasley Photography was recently asked to photograph daily student life for the Admissions Department at Dalton State College. Seriously, this was probably one of the best commercial assignments that we have ever been asked to undertake. Dalton State lined up about 80 students for us to work with. We just wanted them to ignore us and go about their normal day. It was a total blast. One really cool part was seeing a lot of the seniors that we have photographed over the last few years. Dalton State is an incredible college. North Georgia is so blessed to have this school right in their “back yard”.

Lele and Mitchell’s Wedding Day

I just LOVE Christmas weddings. Lele and Mitchell are so cute together. I think I heard that they have been together for 10 years. They are both so blessed with incredible families. We we able to go to their rehearsal dinner and meet both families and watch them interact. I love watching Mitchell tear up a little when he talked about how special his family is to him and how they are always there to support him no matter what.

Lele has a million facial expressions. I love to try and catch them all. She is so bubbly and fun to photograph. I can tell she gets that from her mom Nancy. Lele’s mom Nancy is like a breath of fresh air. I just love to get her phone calls. They are both so excitable and energetic.

The wedding at Dalton First United Methodist Church was so beautiful. As always, Elizabeth Avett outdid herself with the decor of the church and especially the reception at Dalton Golf and Country Club (Elizabeth Avett…The Handsel Co avett@optilink.us, (706) 278-2758). Dan the Cakeman from Cakemakers Etc provided the incredible cake. I think that the whole city of Dalton turned out for this wedding. The church was packed. It is obvious that the Crutchfield and Boggs families are special. They have a lot of friends.

Kaitlyn and Blake’s Snowgagement

Kaitlyn and Blake proved how tough they are. This was one super cold day. I couldn’t even feel my fingers after the shoot. Kaitlyn wanted “Ice” as her engagement theme and we were waiting for the perfect day. I told Kaitlyn that I would be calling her if even there was a hint of snow in the forecast. Luckily, it was more than a hint. It was a truly beautiful day. I felt like the lighting was perfect and the snow added a little punch to the color.

I want to thank Kaitlyn and Blake for allowing Angela and myself to be a part of their very special wedding day. We have known Bill and Robin Gardner (Kaitlyn’s mom and dad) since high school. I was so happy when they asked us to take their wedding photos. It has been a pleasure watching Kaitlyn grow up to become a very beautiful woman (on the inside and outside). Bill and Robin , you have meant so much to our family. I am so thankful to call you friends. I am really looking forward to February 19th.

The Chappelear Family

Nine years ago, Angela and I photographed Beth and Josh’s wedding. Three years ago we met Cooper and now I am just amazed at how beautiful the Chappelear family is. Thank you Beth and Josh for letting us be a small part of your lives. We had so much fun trying to keep up with Cooper. He has this thing about throwing rocks. At one point, we were ducking to keep our camera dry as Cooper hurled river rocks at us.

One really cool thing was that we were able to play in the world’s most awesome tree house. I could actually live in this tree house if it had electricity and running water. Cooper probably could have spent a couple of hours in the tree house. It was a total blast.

Josh and Darien’s Wedding Day

Well, it was a hot, steamy Atlanta afternoon. Not just from the weather, Josh and Darien melted into each others arms (literally). From the first time we saw Josh and Darien at Neely and Chris Byers’ wedding last November, I felt like we instantly connected with them. They are two genuinely nice people. We always notice that they are always happy and smiling when they are together (that’s how I chose the song for their slide show). These two love to dance. It was hilarious fun watching them and their friends “work it out” on the dance floor. We also had this really cool sunset to end the lighted portion of the wedding with. Thank you Josh and Darien for allowing Angela and I to be a part of your fantastic wedding day.

We love taking wedding photos at the Marietta Conference Center. The gardens are gorgeous and make a great scene for the bride and groom. Special thank you to Carithers Flowers, Atlanta. The florals were beautiful and they will make great page background images and graphics for Darien and Josh’s wedding album.

Shoshana and Alan’s Wedding Day in Callaway Gardens

It almost can’t get any better for me than to be able to photograph a wedding in such a beautiful place as Callaway Gardens, Georgia. Combined with all of the blooming flowers in May, then add the smiles from Shoshana and Alan, the photos have to be no less than amazing. Alan and Shoshana have been incredible to work with starting with my very first snowy engagement session at Bluff view Art District in Chattanooga on February 14th. Both families were so nice and welcoming to us. We really felt like part of the family and we want to say a very special thank you to the Levins’ and the Daniels’ families.

*This slide show has 128 photos which is a lot but I really wanted to capture the feel of the whole wedding day. They do fly by rather quickly and I apologize if you can’t see the images longer. Please visit our site to spend more time on each image.

Raj and Stephanie’s engagement at the ballpark

We recently had the chance to photograph Stephanie and Raj. What made this session unique was that we had private access to AT& T field, home of the Chattanooga Lookouts. I joked to Stephanie that this was the “Kiss’in Cam” session. I really enjoyed getting to know Stephanie and Raj. I am sure that their July, 10th wedding is going to be a blast.

One more note, Raj is especially excited about the Dodgers and the “Dodgertown” photograph was at his request. He is a true fan.

Neely and Chris Byers’ Wedding at Walnut Hill Farm

We just finished an incredible wedding album for Neely and Chris Byers. We used the Zookbinder 10×15 vertical album. When the album is opened, the prints take up a 20×15 area. This means we have a lot of room to work and design with. The fall colors were amazing and needless to say, Walnut Hill Farm, in Dalton Georgia, is one of the best places to have a wedding and is one of Beasley Photography’s top 10 locations.

We want to give a special thank you to Neely Folsum and Chris Byers and both of your families for allowing Angela and I to be a part of your special day. It was truly magical. We also found out that Chris is quite the dancer.

Family photos in Destin Fla.

I just LOVE beach photos, especially when I am taking them. Imagine being on the beach without any wind blowing, 70 degrees and a sunset that is off the chart beautiful. That’s what we had the night these photos were taken. What a great looking family. Thanks again Shari for asking us to take these for you. (when are we going again?)
