So much… I purchased a couple of e-books after clicking on one of the advertisements. (A WordPress how to book and a Twitter How to book. I’ll tell you more some other time, first let’s get back to the plug-in.)

Here step by step gets Two Column Square Ads plugin working on your blog.

1. Download the Plugin WP125 Advertisment plugin.

2. Install on your blog.

a. by uploading to your blogs plugin folder or
b. Automatically installing via your dashboard. I use the automatic way. Much faster, easier and always works.

3. Activate plug-in.

4. After activating plugin, look to your left to the blogs links and find – Ads, then go to settings.

5. Here you will set up how you want your square ads to show on website. Either one column or two column. Save settings.

Note if you do a two column and only a one column is showing up, try increasing the size of you blogs side column.

6. Go now To Ads – Ad Ads – Edit Ads. Here is where you create your ad.

You will need the web address where the ad will lead to when clicked on.

You will need a 125×125 image of the ad.

a. You will need to up load the ad image to your web host.

7. Put in the web address of the landing page for your advertisement and the web address where the image is located.

8. Click the number where the ad be placed. To make it easy it we’ll put it in #1 position and the next #2, 3 and 4.

9. Click save.

10. Repeat until all 4 ads been created.

11. From the list on the left go to Appearance, then widgets.

12. Click little arrow on Right Column.

13. Then look to the left and find the widget named WP125. Drag it over to the Right Column you opened and release.

14. Go to your website, refresh need be.

15. Look to your blogs left column for your ads to show up.

16. Looks impressive and so easy making it happen.

Well that’s about it.

17. Oh, when you go back into Ads and Manage it will show you how many times each ad is clicked on. Giving you an idea what your viewers are looking for. And you’ll get quick information which ad is pulling and which ad isn’t so you can replace it with a pulling advertisement.

Yep, experienced a Ophra, a-ha moment over the week-end, while helping my wife setting up her blog.

The Ah-ha moment went like this…

It’s the same  for people who don’t give 2 hoots on how many plugins or widgets are under the hood of their WordPress blog.  All they want to do is get down to business – blogging.

Lock up your Log-in.

Do it now.

It’s your drill Sargent yelling the order.

Ignoring this suggestion is becoming the bird at the cat convention. Never knowing when the strike will happen or how vicious. Praying the cats don’t notice your high traffic blog.

Here’s how you’ll quickly lock up your Admin and log-in screen.

It’ll get you up flying above the cats, quickly locking up your Admin and locking down your login page. Helping keeping the hobby hackers at bay.

However because cats can climb and leap into the air, you can’t let your guard down. Taking these tips as a couple of steps along the way in securing your Word Press blog from unwanted entry and attacks.

Logging in as Admin ? We’ll Change it now.

In a moment you’ll be creating a new user name for your Administration account, testing it and if working ok then locking for security reasons. Meaning no one can log into using the old Admin account.

Lets get started

Log-into your WP admin account.

When logged in find “Users” from the list on the left, then Add New User.

Fill out the form as you will be creating your new administrator name and defiantly don’t call it Admin. Before saving, change the “Role” to Administrator then click Add User.

When your new Admin name is saved look to the left for the name “Users” and click it.

Here you’ll see your old Admin user name and your new administrator user name.

Log out of WP and log into WP again now using your new user name and password.

If it works, great. If not log in with your old Admin user name then fix and try again.

When your new log-in works. do stay logged-in and go into Users – Authors & Users.

Then under your (OLD) Admin click the edit link.

Under Role: change from administrator to “No role for this blog” then go to bottom of page and find
“User account locked “and click the little box “User account is locked for security reasons”.

Then click Update User and you’re done.

Quickly slam the door using User Locker plug-in

Keep your head down as we get moving on seeing if you’ll be the victim of an upcoming dictionary attack. Then taking action, putting up your blogs defense against up coming dictionary attack.

You know, if you forget your password it’s no problem as you can keep trying until you get it right. If it takes 7 or tons of times but when right – you are in.

Then it’s a good bet you’re a sitting duck waiting for a brute forced dictionary attack.

The attack taking place live on your blog’s log-in at some unknown time and only your imagination seeing how brutal. A ditto image of me a couple of days ago. Yes, it’s why we’re having this talk now.

Running a dictionary attack on you.

Briefly it’s automatically running words from the dictionary then in different combos until the right combo is hit. Allowing entry and running loose causing havoc across your blog. Guess they could even change your password on you.

Ouch!

Quickly Shuts Down Login Plugin

Here is how you can rest easy from this fear of being hit from a dictionary attack using a little plug-in which will get shutting down your login fast.

Look out, it’ll even do it on you if you forget.

It doesn’t care who you are. If you don’t know your user name and or password you’re not getting in.

The lock out plug-in allows you to set a limit on the number of tries you will allow logging in before the door gets slammed shut in their face.

Any further login attempts won’t happen.

They must request a new password via a verification link which is sent to registered users registration email.

Again stopping the attacker, because we’ll assume they don’t have access to the real register persons email account. Thus are unable to verify and the login remains locking them out.

If you forget your login, as it does happen you too will be locked out. But you’ll easily verify the email sent to you, quickly resetting your password and flying through logging into your blog.

It’s similar to security before getting on an airplane.

If you know your user name and password it’s your ticket in. If you stumble a few attempts you can try again as we all stumble sometimes.

But if stumble one to many times – walls go up – login shuts down and “who ever” isn’t getting through.

Get User Locker plug-in now controlling your user log-ins now.

It’s different from a dream.

It’s focusing your successful dream you have of your future. Then snatching your dream out of dream land and putting it smack-dab into your life.

Meaning you must keep your  attention on your dream.   Quickly seeing the  steps you’ll be taking along the path to  your future dream.

Giving close attention to your dream, as you’ll have to ask yourself some questions:

In the future how are you acting like?

How many weeks, months, years did it take  reaching each next level?

What are you spending money on?

…Wait !

Didn’t we just get out of dream land?   But now we’re smack dab back into dream land, dreaming about what we will be doing in the future.

Yes, it’s taking your dream then actually going into it in life. Something we all did as a child pretending being a dump truck driver, doctor or nurse.

Think of it as a Peak-Ahead-Plan-In-Your-Head.

I’m not messing with your head here, so don’t be timid. Though I’m no doctor so ask your doctor if pretending, imagining, seeing, experiencing, dreaming is good for your health.

But… you must screech your mind to a stop now. Like finger nails over a chalk board. It’s a quick instant mind shivering change.  Living your future success dream in your life now.

Yes, now.

In your head run through your future day, week, month, year. Getting a sense  where you will be.  Knowing what to do and how to do it.

So when you do start doing “that task” you’ll have gone over it many times in your head and it’ll feel  like you have done it before.

Those who say “I don’t have time or money”. Then leave now.

Or stick around focusing on your future dream as you toss your negative don’t have time / money away. Focusing on how you’re dressing. Because I’m sure you saw yourself in your own dreams dressing better than you are now. You’ve got to get your head into it, acting who you are in the future now.

And please don’t run away as it’s OK if you don’t have the money at this moment to get looking as snazzy, as you are in the dream of your future. However, there is nothing stopping you from working towards it now by dressing up a bit more, with the clothes you are wearing now.

Feel the part. Feel what your are in the future now.

The more you get into acting your future at this moment you’re quickly training your mind your dream is reality. It’s because the mind has a hard time determining reality from dreams / imagination. Which you’ll take advantage of, latching on as it’s your ticket helping propelling you ahead.

You’re like the pro athlete who goes over and over in their mind how they make a great goalie save. Or throwing the ball which dips as it goes over the plate.

So when the hockey player is breaking in on the goalie, automatically the goalie does the spectacular save.

As does the pitcher with the bases loaded who throws the ball automatically as practiced, striking the batter out.

It’s you doing it now as your mind believes you’re a success now.

Helping you take you where you want to get – your future dream.

But look out.

You’ll crash before you even get started if you say you’ll start doing your dream someday. When you have more time…more money… more education.

Grab your goal.

You know your dream. Go see where you are in the future.

Then stand, look back into your dream seeing what you did to make it in the future. Remember you are a success. Meaning stuff must been done to get you where you are in your dream’s future.

Look all the way back to today. The day you begin acting as you are the success now. It may feel a little weird seeing your self today as you are looking back from the future. You will see what needs doing for you to get rolling up your sleeves and doing it.

Start calling yourself what you are – use the name now. You are calling yourself the name in the future, so start using the name now. If not your brain might believe you’re putting your dream on hold.

Become you in the future by acting the part now.

For a quick example, I’ll ask you a question.

Which magician would you see First:

1.Beginner Magican in a ketchup stained T-shirt and street worn pants.

2.Beginer Magican in a black silver cape, black hat and magic wand in hand.

Now look at yourself and see which magician you’re acting like today. Are you acting as you are in the future now?

Focus on what you want as you are in your dream – seeing yourself doing what needs doing.

Then it’ll be like hitting the ball out of the park in the bases loaded game. Because you’ve focused on those drop balls. Seeing yourself hitting them time after time.

Now it’s up to you.

Get running with your dream. Grabbing your dream by its horns and taking full control of it.

For another quick example let say you’ve wanted a website, and a blog with squeeze page capabilities for niche websites.

What will happen is your first Publish will get pinged to the sites you list. Take it slowly with plugins – there are mountains of plugins. WordPress is always changing so plugins may fade out of fashion or not work with newer versions. And I like you, may act as a child in a candy store plugging in tons of plugins without checking each one first.

More is now known about the WordPress fatal memory error message I was getting.

As I wrote in my post Best Web Hosting Service I was getting a blank WordPress page or a fatal error memory message when activating plug-ins. All starting after up-dating to the new 2.9 WordPress.

While doing research for this post, I’m finding out other WordPress bloggers are having the same problem. And also problems with the auto-up-date feature. Interesting, because I’m purring right along with the automatic up-dating.

Found-out my memory error problems was happening because the new WordPress 2.9 is more of a memory hog.

It’s behind what’s causing my error messages – but don’t run away from updating Wordpress. To fix, all you have to do is make a simple change in your PHP memory size, then forget about it.

I’ve done the first way, and today discovered a second way and did it aswell.

1. Change your php.ini file memory_limit from 32M to 64M.

memory_limit = 64M

2. To-day I discovered in wp-settings change 32M to 64M as:

if ( !defined(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’) )
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ‘64M’);

Sure I could have made up a problem, but that wouldn’t be truthful or prove anything.

Then  after posting about the ease of doing automatic blog and plug-in updates compared to an inexpensive host.  The website gremlins appeared.  Giving  error messages every time I did automatic blog and plug-in updates.

A quick check of my website and all was reporting ok.

The time was something like 10:35pm a Friday night.
