Let's not act like we ALL didn't compulsively read it.

Yes, the writing's embarrassingly bad. Also, I've been meaning to write this post for about three months, but then, you know, LIFE happened. I'm semi-embarr to admit I finished the entire Fifty Shades Of Grey series in four days. It'll make you blush harder than the models on Michael Kors' FW 2012 runway did.

You and I both read it.

Yes, Ana Steele gives no indication that she's remotely intelligent other than Christian simply thinking she is. She drinks tea and has moderate knowledge of English Lit. References to her "inner goddess"made me acutely uncomfortable. Ana boasts an inner monologue that sounds as if it's ripped directly from the '60s television series "Batman."

"Holy cow!" thinks Anastasia!

Official Mascara Correspondent: CoverGirl Lash Blast 24HR

Official Mascara Correspondent Ashleigh Ciucci lengthens her lashes this week with CoverGirl LashBlast 24HR Mascara. Is it meh, feh, or hells to the yeah? Find out.

To start, I love love love this mascara. I reviewed the straight Black version a few months back and couldn't rave enough. Great formula, great brush, great lashes, great staying power. So I was anxious to try one of their colored versions. The options were Black Brown, Blue Black and Black Gold. Because I love anything gold (jewelry, shoes, bags) I went for the Black Gold version.

While the payoff of the formula is the same, I did find a nice hint of glimmer with the addition of the gold pigment. While the product looks almost green on the brush, it looks bright and dimensional on the lashes. It's not extremely noticeable, but it gives the lashes almost a wet finish.

While there wasn't a major COLOR difference, the dial-up of the volume of black was great. I'd buy this baby for a new play of the LBM (Little Black Mascara!)

Fictionary: Pigment Of Your Imagination

Fictionary is a column showcasing beauty-related words that don't exist, but should.

This week, I attended a press event held at MAC Pro where I learned about the latest nail news from the behemoth beauty brand. MAC Cosmetics is introducing 31 colors and 3 finishes in the brand's first permanent Nail Lacquer Collection beginning July 5 at Nordstrom and MAC stores; August 2 at counters nationwide.

We also got to partake in a little nail trick my gal Keri Blair, senior makeup artist for MAC Cosmetics's been doing for years--using MAC Pigments mixed with CalGel to create a custom gel manicure. That's my mani, above, a melange of MAC pigment in Antique Gold mixed with a touch of 3D Gold. It's a Pigment Of My Imagination, if I do say so myself. My next gel concoction will include my beloved Frozen White pigment.

The Epcot Figment. Here for no other reason than rhyming with "pigment."

Growing up with a brother who was essentially Brody from Mallrats, I learned a LOT about comic books. More than I wanted to. Too much of my childhood was spent learning the trivia that differentiates Green Lantern from Wolverine and the nuances of Daredevil vs. Spiderman. While I genuinely was on board with a lot of the sci-fi I had to endure (Quantum Leap, Star Trek: The Next Generation) the canons of Marvel and DC didn't thrill me--until now. Why? Oh, I say! Clearly I'm getting in touch with my inner C-3PO.

I'm going through this THING where I simply am not interested in things unless they're gold and sparkly. Vidal Sassoon, head honcho of the haircut, passed away today at 84. He was one of the most respected stylists in the industry and took the beauty world by storm with his architectural hair shapes. I lived for the dusky, shiny locks he tended to in his '80s commercials.

I used to scream to my mother that I needed Vidal Sassoon everything. RIP, Vidal.

What The Water Gave Me: Dr. Jart Most Moist Water-Full Hydrogel Mask

Yes, Clariiiiiiiiiiice, it's a little Hannibal Lecter, but this easy breezy single-use mask is an instant re-moistifyer (I know, that's not a word) and skin soother. It's Dr. Jart's new Most Moist Water-Full Hydrogel Mask and let me tell you, in the select words of Florence Welch, what the water gave me.

I left the mask on about 15 minutes and emerged afterward with skin that was smoother, more elastic and kind of... bouncy! "Christina needed the perfect style to showcase her amazing Thakoon gown, and I knew this chic, sleek chignon would be absolutely gorgeous on her. First, I started off with wet hair and sprayed build it blow drying agent on mids and ends. I then applied fix it gel all over and blew hair dry with a medium sized round brush in one inch sections.

Next, I flat ironed her entire head. I parted her hair in a deep side part and pulled everything back into a tight ponytail.

I then created a large chignon in the back, pinning her hair with medium bobby pins. I finished with beautiful hold hair spray."

Renato began by applying Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel to wet hair to build up the foundation. He then blow dried the hair with a large round brush to add volume and shine. Renato Campora for Frederic Fekkai styled the locks of Jessica Alba for the 2012 Met Ball. The inspiration was, appropriately, an asymmetrical look inspired by Elsa Schiaparelli. This hairstyle is all about being well designed, structured and elegant. Here's how to get the look.

On wet hair, Renato applied Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel throughout and then formed a strong side part. He dried the hair with a round brush to create volume and shine. Next, he used a one inch curling iron to create the body and shape of the look. Renato then brushed through the curls, to build waves starting from the side-part. After, he applied a small amount of Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream to define the waves of the hair and add a lasting shine. To finish the look, Renato sprayed Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray.

Celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis created Lea Michele's Met Ball makeup concept last night. Here are the deets on how to recreate it.

Melanie put the focus on Lea’s eyes by lining them with a deep plum liner and then layered copper toned eye shadows on the actress’s lids. Using a soft crease brush, she blended the edges of the liner with the shadow to
create definition and give that smokey eye effect. Melanie then upped the drama by swiping a dark eye shadow over the liner and added two coats of black mascara for a finishing touch. To offset the intensity of the eyes, Melanie kept the rest of Lea’s face simple: she added a rosy flush of color
on her cheekbones and opted for a natural lip, using a lipstick only to enhance Lea’s own lip color.

Emma Stone's Teal Manicure At The Met Gala 2012

Emma Stone's nails for last night's 2012 Met Gala came courtesy of nail guru to the stars, Elle Gerstein. I just got off the phone with her, and here's how she got that bright blue hue. Read on for the details.

"For Emma's nails we wanted to match her really cool bright teal blue she had on toes. The Lanvin designers wanted to do unusual color to compliment her dress. To achieve that blue, I mixed Revlon's Surf with the brand's Blue Mosaic"

I LOVE a turquoise and red moment and even decorated my last apartment in that color scheme. Elle also shared that unusual hues like chocolate brown, olive and mustard are really hot right now.

Get The Look: Kristen Stewart's Hairstyle At The Met Gala 2012

Adir Abergel for Frederic Fekkai tended to the tresses of Kristen Stewart at the Met Gala 2012 last night. The inspiration was rock and roll, vintage Kate Moss with a tousled, sexy, natural look. Here's the step-by-step on how to recreate the look yourself.

On towel dried hair, Adir applied Fekkai Coiff Strong Hold Volume Mousse to the roots. To create texture, he then applied Fekkai Summer Hair Beach Waves Spray starting one inch from the top of the head and down to the roots. He rough dried the hair to create maximum volume. Once the hair was dry, Adir used a one-inch iron to curl the hair, stopping just before the ends to keep the curls looking natural. He then back combed the roots to add lift and movement to the look. To finish, Adir sprayed a small amount of the same beach waves spray and scrunched it with his hands for added definition.

Get The Look: Sofia Vergara's Makeup At The Met Gala 2012

COVERGIRL face Sofia Vergara stunned at the Met Ball last night in makeup by Kayleen McAdams. Sofia’s bright lip was inspired by the Marchesa collection (she wore a Marchesa dress) and we chose a grapey-pink hue since it’s one of Sofia’s favorite shades. Read on for details straight from Kayleen on how to get the look.

"I first applied COVERGIRL NatueLuxe Silk Foundation in Nutmeg all over her face using a blender sponge. I then used COVERGIRL TRUconceal Concealer in #4 just where we needed under the eyes and around the nose to keep the makeup sheer. To set the look, I used a big fluffy brush to apply COVERGIRL Clean Pressed Powder in Soft Honey and then used COVERGIRL Cheekers Blush in Plum Plush to complement her lips.

I wanted to create an eye on Sofia that’s lighter than usual. I applied COVERGIRL Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Truffle along the bottom lashes from the outer corners to the very inner corners and then applied a lighter line along the lash line at the top to create dimension. I applied COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Swiss Chocolate on top of the liner on the lid to create a softer effect and then used COVERGIRL Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadows in Mink along the brow bone. I used two coats of
COVERGIRL LashBlast 24HR Mascara in Very Black on the top and bottom lashes to finish the eyes.

I lined the lips first with COVERGIRL LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved and then filled them in with COVERGIRL Queen Collection Lip Color in Regal Raspberry using a lip brush to create dimension and contour the lips.

We knew we wanted to use a grapey-pink lip color to make Sofia’s lips stand out, but we had to play around with three different shades of purple before choosing the one she’s seen wearing. Since her look is all about the lips, I wanted to make sure the color stayed vibrant all night long so I gave her the COVERGIRL lip liner and lipstick to keep in her purse before she hit the red carpet."

Get The Look: Hailee Steinfeld's Makeup At The 2012 Met Gala

Hailee Steinfeld looks radiant, doesn't she? Stephen Sollitto created the starlet's look for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala 2012 using tarte products.Here, the beauty breakdown, straight from Stephen.

To begin Stephen used tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof concealer in medium to even out Hailee’s complexion. He then used tarte's airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush to buff in Hailee’s Amazonian clay 12-hour full coverage foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 15 in medium to create a flawless complexion.

Eyes

· He started by applying tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof cream eyeshadow in plum smoke on her lids.

· To add further definition, he used tarte's smolderEYES™ Amazonian clay waterproof liner in bronze as a shadow along Hailee’s lash line to make her eyes pop.

· He finished by lining her eyes with tarte’s Amazonian clay waterproof eyeliner in black.

· For extra volume Stephen applied two coats of tarte's lights, camera lashes!™ 4-in-1 clinically-proven mascara.

Lips

· To complete Hailee’s playful look, Stephen filled her lips with tarte LipSurgence™ matte lip tint in lucky, then added major shine with tarte’s new maracuja divine shine lip gloss in glisten.

Amber's a great one, as well. Obv.

I've long been a fan of Demeter Fragrance Library for their single-note fragrances that run the gamut from Angel Food Cake to Dirt. Seriously, anything you want to smell like, Demeter makes it happen. The brand is sort of like protists of the beauty kingdom.
