Khloe Kardashian is the youngest of the three sisters, Kim Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, who co-owns DASH, a high-end women’s boutique, and SMOOCH, a children’s clothing store in Calabasas, California. You might also know Khloe from her role on the show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” which has quickly become an E! Entertainment fan favorite. In this interview Khloe talks about some of her beauty secrets: from her signature smokey eyes look to the lip gloss her and Kim Kardashian are obsessed about, her favorite city in the world, and future career plans.

I keep my hair beautiful thanks to…
I love Kerastase and all of their products. Once a week I always use a deep conditioner on my hair by Kerastase because I get my hair done so much. I have naturally curly hair and I always blow it out.

My favorite skincare products are…
I love Crème De La Mer. It’s a really thick moisturizer and it’s also good for your skin and body. And for soft moisturized lips I use The Lip Balm by La Mer also.

Who came up with your signature smoky eyes look and what products do you use to achieve it?
I don’t really know when we came up with the smoky eyes look, but we were doing the smoky eyes forever. What we like to do a lot is to fill underneath the eye with a color, green or purple, something fun so it’s not so harsh. You can do smoky eyes with color so you don’t always have to use charcoal and black. We use MAC eye shadows, because they blend so well. I like using navy eye liner so it’s not so harsh as black. And it lasts forever. It’s fun to do smoky eyes, it always looks so sexy. In daytime you can use a brown and make it darker with a charcoal or a black, and it keeps all day.

The best lip-gloss I ever owned…
My sisters and I are obsessed with Nars in Turkish Delight. We love it. Kim and I are obsessed with it. I’m so much lighter than Kim, but it still looks so good on both of us.

My signature fragrance is…
Child Perfume Oil. You roll just a little bit of it on your body and it lasts all day. Apothia at Fred Segal Melrose carries it. I don’t know where else you can buy it. I need to figure it out because I need more.

The one beauty product you will always find in my purse is…
You will always find in my purse a Nail file. If I chip my nail, I just can’t function during the day. It bothers me to death. It is so annoying. The other day I chipped my nail and I didn’t have one, I had to go to Ride-Aid and it was a whole process. So I will never ever not have a nail file in my purse!

My number one beauty secret is…
I love to put Vaseline all over my body before I go to sleep sometimes, like once a week. On my feet, my knees and my elbows and dry areas. I put it under my eyes, and I sleep and I wake up and I feel like a whole new person. And I love to brush my lips with a toothbrush, because I feel it plumps them up, and it get rids of all the dead cells.

The celebrity I find most beautiful is…
I think Halle Berry is absolutely stunning. I just love her. When she was pregnant and when she is not pregnant, she is just gorgeous. And I love the Olson Twins, I think they both have a unique beauty, I like how big their eyes are. They are gorgeous girls.

How would you describe your personal style?
Classic, but I like to make it sexy like to unbutton it a little and show a cleavage. I’m not trendy, I am more classic.

Are the clothes you wear on the show “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” from your boutique: DASH?
We always try to wear as much as we can from our store: DASH, when we film or when we do a red carpet. Obviously sometimes we do shop at other places, but 95% of the clothes we wear on the show are from our store DASH. We always share clothes. The funny thing is, on episodes we worn the same things but everyone of us will wear it so differently.

What other designers do you like aside from the ones you carry at DASH?
I love Missoni, I don’t carry it in my store but I would love to. Dolce and Gabbana. There are more designers that I love but I don’t have enough room to put them in my store. A designer that I do carry in my store in Michelle Mason, and we love her. She doesn’t sell to department stores. Her clothes are funky and different. I love wearing stuff that nobody else has.

The city I love the most…
Miami. I’m in a Miami phase. I might change in couple of months, but I love the weather, the people, the restaurants, and the night life. I love to go out and mingle and there is a very good variety there.

One or two things some people may not know about me…
That I am actually a very Sensitive person. Everyone thinks I’m really tough, which I am tough, but I’m also really sweet. I only let certain people to see this side of me, like the ones I love.

I am currently working on…
I’m trying to host. I really would love to host TV shows and red carpet events. I love fashion and I love being in front of the camera. And I really would like to get a clothing line off the ground with my sisters. I wish I could sing, but I can’t.

When did your interest in hair design begin?
My mom Hilda is a legendary hairdresser. I grew up in the beauty industry and always loved going to the salon with my mom. As a child, I would sit for hours watching her do hair and loving every minute.

What have been some of your biggest breaks of your career?
My greatest opportunity was meeting Angelina Jolie and having the privilege to work with her. She is such an amazing person who truly cares about people and the world. The rest of my other clients such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, Gwyenth Paltrow, Jessical Biel to name a few came to me because they heard about me from other clients. This has been such an honor they have all bestowed upon me.

How was the concept for developing your own professional hair care product line born?
My mother always surrounded my sister and me with animals. As babies, she would often place our pets in our cribs. She stressed the importance of respecting their lives and providing great care and love for animals. This family passion soon transformed into my cause. Through research and my friendships with Angelina Jolie and Eric Steinhauser I learned about WildAid and their devotion to preserving wildlife and stopping illegal wildlife trade. Eric is one of our original partners who introduced us to WildAid while Angelina was a vital force in the lines concept.

Interpol estimates the illegal wildlife trade to be worth US $10-20 billion a year. Did you also know that globally, black rhino populations fell from over 60,000 in 1970 to 2,500 in 1990 as poachers targeted their horns for profits abroad? These are devastating numbers and I needed to change this.

What is the David Babaii for WildAid product philosophy?
Styling hair with a conscious…It is Beautiful to be good

I created products which are great for you and in turn do something great for our planet’s endangered wildlife. We were inspired by the remarkable beauty in nature and utilize exotic and wild ingredients. My products DO NOT INCLUDE: Sulfates, Parabens, Petrochemicals or animal products and most important of all are cruelty free.

How did your collaboration with Kate Hudson come about?
This came about during the past 6 ½ years of my friendship with Kate, we often spoke about doing a product line. My passion has always been for animals so we joined these dreams to create David Babaii for WildAid.

We were approached by several big companies, but we wanted to create change on our own. Kate and I were determined to make a line free of Sulfates, Parabens, Petrochemicals, animal products and most importantly free from all animal testing.

Kate transformed into the perfect face and this is the perfect time.

How do you source the ingredients for your products?
I researched all these ingredients with the help of my chemists. It was vital for us to utilize replenish able resources found on our planet without disturbing nature. Everything was tested on Kate and not on animals!

A percentage of revenues from sales of David Babaii for Wildaid products is donated to the Global Wildlife Conservation Organization. What is the organanization’s mission?
WildAid uniquely focuses on raising awareness to reduce the demand for threatened and endangered species products and to increase public support for wildlife conservation. WildAid is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization headquartered in San Francisco with representation in China, India, Galapagos, London and New York. We are also revolutionary in our funding - sending 100% of online donations directly to programs. They are funded by foundations and individuals.

The celebrity list you have worked with is very impressive. What memorable moments can you share with us working with them?
If have been so fortunate to have several memorable moments. Of course when I met Kate for the first time, it was like meeting a great friend. Then I met Angelina Jolie on a photo shoot. We officially met as I was running up the stairs to do the photo shoot and ran into her! This was so embarrassing but who would have known we would become the best of friends. My other clients like Nicole Kidman, Gwyenth Paltrow, Jessica Biel, Scarlet Johannson, Sarah Jessica Parker all have their own each memorable moment but they inspire me beyond words. They are great women whom I treasure and respect.

To what do you attribute your success as a celebrity hair stylist?
I feel that success is all about hard work and determination. You must always connect with each client. They are all different and require different needs and how they want to look. As a perfectionist, I always strive to create a perfect style each time. Also, I do everything to make sure my clients are happy and look amazing.

What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
Each city, each photo shoot, each red carpet event, each celebrity client and each new location exposes you to lots of new people and places. It’s an incredible journey to meet people from all over the world and learn about their life experiences.

What city in the world is most inspirational to you?
The whole world is my inspiration. On any free time, I love to sight see and study the architecture. I find a great deal of beauty and stimulation in each building and each country.

My favorite quote: Traveling the world, does the person create the journey or does the journey create the person?

Can you tell us a bit about your acting career so far?
A lot of people know me from a character (Bianca Montgomery) I played on All My Children, Erika Kane’s daughter who made history when she came out of the closet. My character was one of the first core characters in day time television to come out as a lesbian and shared daytime’s first lesbian kiss. I played a role (Sarah The Sophomore Chick) in American Pie. I also have a role in an upcoming Jud Apatow film: Year One. And recently, I have been working on an internet series: Imaginary Bitches.

I keep my hair beautiful thanks to…
I use Kerastase, I’m addicted to it. Wonderful products. I use everything from the whole line. I would never ever use anything else. When I travel I take it with me. The water in New York is so different than in Los Angeles, but it works on both coasts and even abroad. And I just love when my hair is thicker, softer, and much more luminous. My favorite is the ole-relax line, the orange bottles.

My favorite skincare products are…
I recently started using products from Jan Marini and I have never got so many compliments on my skin. She has some wonderful products, such her bioglycolic face wash that I use at night, vitamin C serum, and an anti-aging cream called: The Transformation Cream which is very emollient and lovely.

I get my eyelashes looking long, full, and sexy using…
I love this mascara called: Kiss Me. Other mascaras are too harsh for me, especially the waterproof ones. Kiss Me is water resistant but when you wash your face at night it just comes off so easily, it doesn’t dry out your lashes. Not only Kiss Me mascara makes my lashes thicker and longer but it also helps keep my eye lashes healthy.

The best lip-gloss I ever owned…
I love Pout. I carry it with me everywhere. They have funny names like: Squeeze My Loins, and Fluff My Feathers and, it’s sexy and fun. The colors are very natural but yet give your lips a boost and moist.

My signature fragrance is…
You know, I don’t have one. I never had. I sort of have been on the hunt for it my whole life, and I have never been able to settle on one. I thought, well, when I become an adult I’ll have a signature fragrance. I think I crossed the threshhold to adulthood so I think it is probably time for me start going into that territory. I get tired of them so fast, and my sense of smell is strong, so it has to be something very subtle. Sometimes when I wear it all day, their novelty wears off.

The one beauty product you will always find in my purse is…
Colorscience Sunforgetable SPF 30 powder. You can carry it in your purse. Even if you are wearing makeup or not, you can put it on with a brush just like you would with any kind of powder. It is 30 SPF and waterproof.

My number one beauty secret is…
I learned this from my grandmother, she is 98 years old, and she is gorgeous. She does all her gardening, cooking, and shopping. And she never ever stops laughing. So my my biggest beauty secret is just to be happy. Happy people age beautifully.

The celebrity I find most beautiful is…
Tina Fay. She makes me laugh, and she is incredibly talented.

How would you describe your own personal style?
Very relaxed. Most of the time I just kick back in very casual comfortable cloths. I love dressing up too, I just have a very classic style. I like to wear the cloths, I don’t like the clothes to wear me. I go for very simple, timeless look. I feel most beautiful in a beautiful white dress, and very little jewelry, or just my jeans and t-shirt.

One or two things some people may not know about me…
I was in an environmental singing group as a child, called: The World Patrol Kids with Natalie Portman. We went around to environmental happenings and sang our songs and spread the word about being green and recycling. Natalie and I went to college together. We were in some of the same groups and organizations in Harvard.

What’s next for Eden…
I would love to continue and be part of Imaginary Bitches. I love it almost more than anything I’ve ever done. It is so wonderful to work with my friends and family on a project I really believe in. I hope we can keep it going. It seems that people are responding to the show, which is incredible, and I hope they keep watching. I would love to go on and do many more seasons of that.

When did your fascination with makeup begin?
When I was a very young girl one of my favorite things to do was to watch my mother put on her makeup. She could not go anywhere unless she put on a face. My mom is very attractive woman and I used to just love watching her transform. Then I went to art school and I really didn’t know what to do after I got out of school. I thought I might be a sculptor or maybe a painter of some sort. I also knew that the kind of job I would enjoy involves travel, working for myself, portable and not in an office. But I didn’t know what it was until I got into makeup-this is when I said to myself-that is my job!

What was your biggest break as a professional makeup artist?
My biggest break was being introduced to Victoria’s Secret. It was a huge break for me because it immediately elevates you to work in a company that really appreciates makeup and beauty. Victoria’s Secret is all about the fantasy and that’s what I love. I love celebrating women and the fantasy of being a girl. Women are so beautiful. One of my favorite classes in art school was life drawing, I was so blown away by the female body.

How do you describe your makeup style?
I like to enhance, I don’t like to transform. I like the face to be the dominant part and the makeup to work around like a painting. I want you to see the face and not the makeup.

Is there a typical Victoria’s Secret model makeup look?
I like to customize my the makeup according to the model I’m working with. They are all so different. Otherwise I will be missing out on the individual beauty of the model. To me it is the face that dominates the application.

What are some your favorite Victoria’s Secret Beauty products?
I love all Victoria’s Secret Bare Bronze products. That’s what I apply on the models in fashion shows. I apply it on legs and body. Makeup shouldn’t stop at the face or the neck, it should look continuous and blended all over the body.

Do you travel a lot and what city do you find most inspiring?
Greece, Venice, Rome, New York, and Paris they are all independently inspiring because of what they represent.

What is the best part working with Victoria’s Secret?
The best part is every part. You couldn’t hope to work for a greater group of people. We’re friends. We are like a strange extended family that spends a lot time together. We travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world, locations you might never get to go in your personal life. I am very fortunate.

Who would be your dream canvas or face for makeup?
Victoria’s Secret Angels, the most beautiful women in the world. And after meeting Liza Minnelli while out in New York City with Hide Klum , I might say-Liza Minnelli. Liza is a woman from the old school who seems to love makeup.

When did your fascination with makeup begin?
I used to love playing with my Barbie dolls when I was a little girl. Also I was always been interested in art and painting.

How did you get your first big break as a makeup artist?
When I was called to do makeup for Linda Carter, the original wonder woman.

What is your makeup philosophy?
Each face is a unique piece of art.

What have been some of your most memorable collaborations?
I really enjoyed working with Brittany Murphy. She is really like the characters she plays in movies, very funny, and friendly. I also love doing makeup for males on sit down comedies on TV Land.

What is your favorite type of makeup assignment: backstage runway, print, or celebs?
Print is my favorite. You get time to plan out and create the makeup for the print assignment. You get to be on locations. I like working backstage as well, but it requires you to be fast.

What is the key for achieving long term success and popularity as a makeup artist?
Personality is the most important thing in developing good working relations with your clients. You want to make sure that the people you work with remember you as a fun and pleasant person to work with. No matter how talented you are, your personality is what makes an imprint in people’s mind.

What makeup style are you best known?
Fashion. I’m one of the few makeup artists in Los Angeles who does makeup for fashion and runway.

Which products we would always find in your makeup bag?
Too Faced Cosmetics. I just love every product from Too Faced. My favorites are: Eye Shadow Liquifier, Lash Injection, and Lip Injection. Too Faced foundations are also fabulous. The only thing I use from Stila is their matt eye shadows. But I’m sure Too Faced will soon catch up. I have no doubt.

What are some of your top tips for getting fresh and flawless complexion?
No matter what age you are, you should always use a moisturizer. I like JASON Organics skincare products, such as: Ester-C Crème, and Ester-C Serum Anti-Aging Therapy. I also like Burt’s Bees moisturizers. I believe dry skin leads to an oily skin. Once my clients take my advice, they see improvement with their complexion. Foundation with sunscreen is also important. Some people may not think this way, but the right foundation actually protects your skin from outside factors like: pollution and dirt.

What do you enjoy most about being a makeup artist?
Working with people and making people laugh. I have a background in acting and singing, and I even studied opera. So I like interacting with people, and being in front of people. I also enjoy how every makeup assignment allows me to create a new work of art. Every makeup assignment is unique.

What other passions do you have besides making faces beautiful?
I love singing, acting, and I play basketball.

What projects are you currently working on?
I’m doing the next campaign for (I believe its fall 2008) for Level99usa Couture. I was also shooting April 4th at Smashbox Studios. In the meantime I’m shooting an editorial for an undisclosed magazine involving Fairies.

It was a pleasure to interview Victoria you can find out all about her at her website: www.victoriarowe.com also from time to time Victoria acts as an expert contributor on makeup blog: www.talkingmakeup.com

As mothers their mission is to provide Supermamas with the most effective skincare products throughout the journey of motherhood. In this interview Mama Mio’s founders talk about how it all began, what makes Mama Mio special, and give us a list of famous celebrity moms who are Mama Mio fans.

How was the concept for Mama Mio born?
Because we (Mama Mio’s founders Sian Sutherland, Tanya Kazeminy Mackay and Kathy Miller) work in the beauty industry, we have access to the very best chemists, aromatherapists and manufacturers. So when Sian first fell pregnant we did some serious research into how to keep our tummies free from stretch marks. In talking to all our friends and business associates we concluded that the answer to protecting overstretched skin is in the topical application of Omega 3, 6 and 9. We then created our Tummy Rub Oil. It smelled glorious and it felt amazing and we all rub rub rubbed it in throughout our seven pregnancies. All of the other Mama Mio products followed as we encountered each stage in pregnancy and motherhood. We gave it to all of our friends, and then friends of friends eventually after 12 years of trial we decided that the time had come to create Mama Mio.

What is Mama Mio’s main philosophy?
Our Mama Mio mission is to use our experience as mothers (and beauty experts) to provide Supermamas with the most effective skincare products to address all their concerns, throughout the journey of motherhood. Our total focus at Mama MIo is helping mothers feel good in their skin….. whether their baby is in their tummy or in college.
Mama Mio is dedicated to the celebration of Supermamas. Everyone has one, knows one or is one. At any age and at any stage, she is a self-propelled dynamo that is tirelessly everything to everyone. So Supermamas, we know you are busy, but take a little moment for a pat on the back. Lord knows you deserve it!

How is Mama Mio different than other maternity skincare products on the market?
The Mama Mio is the only skincare range focused entirely on the needs of all supermamas.. We are all about improving and maintaining the tone and elasticity of the skin – because elastic skin is fantastic skin. We use facial skincare technology and the finest quality ingredients in every product. Our super-moisturising products are effective because of the high levels of Omega 3,6,and 9 (nature’s superheroes at improving skin’s strength and elasticity). Our repair and restoration products are packed with the very best ingredients science and nature have to offer at the highest levels recommended, so they really work. Our gorgeous Gravida fragrance is another key element that sets the Mama Mio range apart. It’s a blend of 10 natural essential oils, carefully created to appeal to the most sensitive of noses. It imparts emotional and physical benefits and makes you smell as beautiful as you feel. It’s addictive and a special part of using the range. We feel the more you enjoy using our products, the more you’ll use them and the better they’ll work (sneaky we product developers!). Finally, we care just as much about what we put in our skincare as what we don’t. We maintain a strict NO NASTIES policy which means every Mama Mio product is Paraben Free,. Petrolatum Free, Sodium Laureth and Sodium Laurel Sulphate Free, Colourant Free and Synthetic Fragrance Free.

Which pregnancy and post-pregency skin issues does Mama Mio address?
Mama Mio is primarily concerned with the strength and elasticity of skin. Each of our products focus on maintaining and improving the strength and elasticity and then an extra focus is added to address a multitude of skin issues women face throughout the entire journey of motherhood including: the southern migration of the bust area, crepey skin from pregnancy and weight loss, cellulite, preventing and reducing the appearance of stretch marks, dry, parched, sensitive skin, itchy belly syndrome, fading surgery scars, the need for luxury, pampering and de-stressing.

What are some of the key ingredients we can find your products?
We use facial skincare technology and the finest quality ingredients in every product. The building block of each of our products is a high levels of Omega 3,6,and 9 (nature’s superheroes at improving skin’s strength and elasticity). We then add in ingredients specific to the issue the product is addressing. Antioxidants like CoQ10 play a big part in fighting the war against gravity - our Boob Tube is loaded with it to help you aim north, not south. Our repair and restoration products are packed with the very best ingredients science and nature have to offer at the highest levels recommended, so they really work. We use proven ingredients like hyaluronic acid to plump crepey skin on the tummy, Laminaria Digitata (brown algae) with a proven firming action to zap cellulite and Regestril, clinically proven to reduce the visibility and texture of stretchmarks. Our gorgeous Gravida fragrance is another key element of the range. It’s a blend of 10 natural essential oils, carefully created to appeal to the most sensitive of noses. It imparts emotional and physical benefits and makes you smell as beautiful as you feel.

What makes Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter so popular?
Mama Mio Tummy Rub Stretch Mark Butter is so popular because IT WORKS. It is fit for purpose and contains Omegas 3, 6 and 9, our superheroes to help skin’s strength and elasticity. With the added benefit of super-moisturising Shea Butter, our Butter really is the best. Also, see notes on addictive Gravida fragrance above.
The supermama network is a very strong one and friends tell friends and so on. The product has been featured on so many blogs written by and for moms, it has been embraced and endorsed in an organic, grassroots way by the community. Our celeb fan base for Tummy Rub Butter includes Natalia Vodianova, Mariska Hargitay, Rachel Weisz, Milla Jovovich and Kirsten Dunst (not pregnant, still loving us!).

What is included in the Mama Mio Mama’s Touch Maternity Spa Treatment? Can we call this spa treatments for supermamas?
Keeping the human race going is a stressful business, both physically and psychologically… it is the best reason you can give for needing to occasionally check out of reality and into a spa. For this very reason, we created Mama’s Touch, a special programme of skin-salvation and indulgent spa treatments. Mama’s Touch treatments are all designed to take you through all stages of pregnancy and, even more importantly, help you get your body back.

Mama’s Touch treatments are enjoyed at a spa bunny’s dream of prestigious locations including The Ritz-Carlton Spas, Spa Terra-Noble House resorts, Cowshed Spas worldwide, Harvey Nichols, Harrods, Claridges, The Berkeley and Browns in London.
Please see the attached treatment menu.

How come your products smell so delicious yet don’t offend a very sensitive pregnant nose?
Our fragrance is a blend of 10 natural essential oils, very carefully created to appeal to the most sensitive of noses. It layers you with a subtle veil of fresh citrus notes with a gentle heart of white flowers. It has been tried and tested on countless supermamas and much to our delight, appeals to all who have experienced it.

What are some of your passions besides your business?
We would have to turn that question around our primary passion is our families and our kids. Our business definitely comes after them! And if we have time we are all avid runners – many a jet-lagged morning in New York has been spent chatting and running next to the river.

In this interview, Ida talks about the creation of Adorage and what makes it work.

How was the concept for Adorage MD skin care born?
We have 3 partners-women of 50 years old: 1. a nurse in a famous dermatologist office in Manhattan with major clientele –celebrities and socialites 2. me –with a background in health care and future DR. of naturopathy and nutrition 2. a journalist.Everybody had different goals: 1. never saw a skin care line which gives real results( she is very experienced nurse)2. I was looking that it has to be safe( I have melanoma history) 3. Had a very bad skin and money to invest.

What is different about Adorage MD?
We are the first luxury skin care line to combine gentle neutralized Glycolic acid and active ingredients: Retinol, Vitamin C, Hyaluronic acid with rare and pure botanical extracts.(Antistress cream was developed having in mind old apothecary recipe fro France from the 19 century, which was given to us by the relatives of French movie star of the 60-ies Delphine Vouler.

How do you come up with the formulas and ingredients that go into Adorage MD products?
Being a professional in dermatology-our partner(nurse) new what are the ingredients which really work

Me, studying naturopathy was against parabens as preservatives and other dangerous chemical ingredients. And we also had sensitive skin in mind( during more than a year selling the products we never had any single return because of allergy)

We started to formulate it in US but failed and spent a lot of money and time. We decided to develop and produce in France-the capital of cosmetic industry.

Hyaluronic acid serum technology and Gel C are the patents of laboratory which produced this skin care line
All our skin products are FDA registered.

Where would be a great place to start for someone who never used Adorage skin care before?
If you mean where to buy-we have an internet store www.adoragemd.com and a phone 201-886-7000 to contact a person who will explain what a person needs to buy. Also we are successfully selling in the dermatologist office which I mentioned( the products are flying away from the shelves literally)

There is a store in LA “ Body, Beauty and more…”We just started not long ago. So, there are other stores in our plans.

How Adorage MD is a best alternative to dermal filler such as: Restylane and Juvaderm?
These fillers consist of the same ingredient-Hyaluronic acid. This substance is diminished with age , but it helps our skin to look hydrated and plumed . If a person starts using this product from young age she/he prolongs the time when the skin is young, have elasticity , no wrinkles. So the person doesn’t need to fill up the wrinkles with very expensive esthetic injections.

Our Hyaluronic acid is our best seller-it has a greatest penetration ability under the skin due to a precursor stage of its molecules. They are smaller than skin’s molecules. It is not greezy or sticky as the same named products on the market.

What’s in Adorage MD’s ‘Secret Recipe’?
Antistress cream was formulated on the base of “The secret Recipe. It is developed for women after 40 , and is loaded with Soy , Soy Germa, and Ginestein extracts which are natural estrogens and antioxidants , providing skin’s elasticity, stimulating collagen production, strengthening the capillary walls, providing firmness to the skin. Paired with Glycolic acid, these botanicals compel the skin to start rejuvenating itself . But secret is the secret and I can’t provide you with the secret formulation

What are some of the benefits to our skin when using Adoarge products?
The skin is reprogrammed, it learns to be healthy and younger. We are giving not only visible effect in 10-14 days. The skin starts effectively working like it was when you were young, it was not so stressed buy environment, pollution, sun and smoking. The skin “ learns” to “act” younger. There is no difference if it is dry or oily-it becomes healthy and normal. It doesn’t look shiny, because you put some oily cream, the skin looks fabulous, because it is healthy. This is the largest organ of the body and is the mirror of people’s health. Our slogan is “ Don’t deny your age, Adore your skin and yourself at any age. Look fabulous.

What type of woman was Adorage skincare designed for?
The skin care is designed for the woman of 21st century in mind. She is sophisticated enough to understand the ingredients we are using and the benefits she is receiving using the products. This woman takes regular care about herself, because Beauty and Health are commitment. By the way, there are men who are using our product. !/4 of Dr. dermatologist clientele using the products are men. Only Antistress products are strictly for women.

What are some of your best kept beauty secrets?
Exfoliation-this is one of the most necessary things you have to do every day. You can use our Cleansers in the morning and Retinol cream at night. There must be no old or dead skin cells on the face. Avoid sun-always put creams with SPF on the skin

Skin must be nourished not only topically but internally too. It is not only diet and healthy food. They are not enough-or you have to eat tons of food. Adorage has a special Skin Formula supplement which consists of amino acids and natural herbs everybody needs for healthy skin and body. Nothing like this formula is on US market. And supplements are commitment too.

What’s next for Adorage?

When did your interest in hair design begin?
When I was younger I used to do all my friends for the prom, parties and events and the cool girls would ask me to do their hair in hair in school as well. So naturally, I joined hair school and it was on from there!

What was your biggest break as a professional hair stylist?
When I met Puffy and he was just getting BAD BOY started and he put me with Mary J. Blidge and Faith Evans. They were my first celebrity clients…and he would have me do all the girls on his label… that’s what exacted me about my own future in doing celebrities.

What hair styles are you best known for?
I am known for doing lots of edgy cuts and signature looks…”makeovers” are my favorite.

Can you tell us about your experience working at the Warren Tricomi Los Angeles Salon?
Working at Warren Tricomi Los Angeles was a dream come true. As an artist, it’s influenced my creativity as well as my styling techniques, not to mention going to work is such a pleasure.

What have been some of your most memorable celebrity collaborations?
Working with CHAKA KHAN was one of my most exciting, fun experiences. Also, as you all know, working with Tyra was such an innovative experience, traveling, meeting people, and just having adapting the relationship with Tyra alone was just extremely rewarding. I’ve learned so much in working with her and the Tyra show team.

You have styled Tyra Banks hair and we love it! What is the secret for Tyra’s beautiful hair?
Well, of course a girl never tells her beauty secrets, but many of Tyra’s styles were created from her inspiration for either the top model season, award shows, or just me suggesting” hey Tyra lets do something super hot this season” and she is always super open about trying something new for
the season…”

You have received two Daytime Emmy Awards for styling. What does it take to win such an award?
Well it took lots of long hours, consistency in her hairstyling and it always helps to have a great model like Tyra to wear your hair well. She was really good at wearing my styles. She had a pretty signature look, with the brown and blond color tones and long layers, we pretty much never really strayed from that. You always have to be able to keep up with the talent, their schedule gets really crazy and you have to be able to hang in there for sometimes long periods of time.

To what do you attribute your successful career as a hair stylist?
You have to know how to fit right in with these celebrities, their busy lives and definitely know how to get the job done. Also, be really good at your work and be really adaptable to pressure and last minute changes. Your life definitely comes after the job is done. Never tell the client it can’t be done, you have to always figure out how to make it work and make time to fit them in.

If given the chance, how would you improve the ethnic hair care market?
I want to become the first African American woman to change the image of how our market is represented. Also, be able to give people the knowledge on how to treat and care bad hair. I want to give women a solution, on how to maintain their hair because it’s all tied in to a woman’s self esteem and how she presents herself. Hair can really change a woman’s image and appearance. I want to bring awareness to people with all kinds of textured hair globally. There are so many people with all types of texture to their hair, therefore, my products would catered to everyone with any type of curl, wave, frizz, or kink. I will help change people’s lives by bring knowledge to them in the field I’m best at…

What simple tips can you give us for treating textured hair or African American hair?
Texture hair is always in need of moisture, conditioning, and a good stylist who understands their hair type. Most stylists are not trained to understand our hair, so a lot of Caucasian stylist will turn them away.

Which hair care products and tools you just can’t live without?
My FHI FLAT IRON, MY WAX STICK, AND MY GREAT ASSISANT.

What’s next for Kiyah Wright?
I am in a developmental stage, where I do my own texture hair product line. I want to be the spokesperson and really be able to bring awareness and knowledge to woman, men and children in the whole hair care industry.

It was a pleasure to interview Kiyah to see more of her portfolio click here.

How did you get into hair design?
I fell into it. I wasn’t sure what to do with my career and I went to Rifmik, a hair salon in Melbourne, Australia, to get a hair cut and I loved the energy, the smell of the products and the vibe. So I decided to give it a shot.

What was your biggest break as a professional hair stylist?
I don’t think there was one particular big break, although working at Bumble & Bumble exposed me to the highest level of hair dressing. That part has been incremental. One opportunity has opened the door to the next.

How was the idea for Cutler/Redken and Cutler SOHO Salons born?
A big part of our success was partnering with like-minded people. Redken’s commitment to fashion has opened up incredible opportunities for our brand and our staff and had always been known as a downtown salon so it only made sense to open a salon in SoHo.

What is your role at Cutler Salons?
My role at Cutler has always been a bit of everything from salon hair dresser to overseeing the brand image to running the financial side of the company. We’ve reached the level that we have specific people that can focus on specialized areas allowing me to focus on the things I do well, whether it’s media, marketing or finance.

How would you describe the Cutler Salon experience?
We have one of the friendliest staffs in the industry. It is an unpretentious environment that is high fashion but allows attainable hair that’s wearable.

What have been some of Cutler Salons fashion and celebrity collaborations?
We’ve been very fortunate to lend our expertise into many areas in the fashion industry. From the twenty five fashion shows we do every season to the Redken/Cutler pod cast with Allure and Vogue. We’ve even been featured in Disney’s movie Enchanted. We are very fortunate to do many events in our industry like the Grammy’s Style Studio and Alternative Hair Shows.

What is the idea behind the Cutler SOHO Redken Lab?
The idea behind it was to involve our clients in their color process. Most color mistakes are made in the lost translation between “what I’m getting” and “what I thought I was getting.” Involving our clients breaks down those barriers allowing us to get better results.

What is Cutler Education and who is qualified to participate?
The majority of the Cutler education is for our assistants and staff. We have four Cutting and Color classes along with Theory and Editorial classes. We also have Soiress, which are in-house presentations. We are starting to do outside education within the industry for example the New York Beauty Show.

What is different about Cutler hair care products and where can we buy them?
Our products were designed from our expertise on the runways, but ultimately they serve the purpose of everyday maintenance for women who want sexy healthy hair. Our products have botanical extracts such as, Avocado Oil, Hawaiian White Ginger, and Sweet Almond Proteins, giving high performance hair that is left moveable, but not oversaturated so you get the results you desire. Additionally, all of our products feature multi-level UV protection to shields hair from the harmful and color-depleting effects of the sun’s rays. Cutler products are available at Ulta, ulta.com, beautyintuition, Zitomer and cutlersalon.com

What are some of your must-have hair care tools and products?
The Cutler Fly-Away Control Stick is definitely a must-have. It’s easy to travel with and great to pull out to add shine and bring down fly-aways. Another great product is Redken’s Workforce 09 hairspray it’s lightweight and adds shine.

What are some of your favorite hair styles of all time?
Some of my favorite hairstyles are the graduated bob, as seen on Louise Brookes in the 20s, which is timeless. Linda Evangelista’s short hair cut at the height of her career that set the turn for what was hot in hair fashion. And Gisele Bünchen’s sexy waves are just so versatile and consumer friendly that they reintroduced curls in a friendly way that was really sexy.

How can a hairdresser working in a salon take their job to the next level of a successful career?
The best way to get your career to the next level as a hair dresser is to put yourself in work environments that take you out of your area of expertise, whether it’s photo shoots or runway shows. Another way is through education, education, education and continually exposing yourself to fresh ideas.

When you are not busy with your salons where can we find you?
When I’m not busy with the salons you can find me with my family or participating in triathlons.

What’s next for Rodney Cutler?
We are constantly working on new developments for our brand, whether it’s a new show, like the Redken Symposium, a new salon in Vegas with the Gansevoort Hotel, or adding new products to our line. Our newest venture is the new Miami salon in the Gansevoort South, which opens in June. There’s always something in the works. It’s impossible to stay still. We’re either going up or going down and we’re obsessed with moving the brand in the right direction.

It was a pleasure to interview Rodney you can find out more about him and his salon and products by visting the official Cutler Redken Salon website: www.cutlersalon.com
