Method #1 method works with following languages:

Method# 2 works with most of the languages

There is a neat way to read websites which are in Devnagari such as Nepali or Hindi languages directly from your mobile browsers such as blackberry without installing any font in your device. There are two ways for this.
Please note that in both of these methods, it is best to use the BOLT browser for blackberry. To download BOLT browser, please visit http://boltbrowser.com/boltbb.jad from your default blackberry browser.

Below is the website where none of the words written in Devnagari font is visible in our blackberry mobile browser

1. Google Script converter : This is a very easy way to view the devnagari script from your mobile browser. Just open the browser in your blackberry and go to http://scriptconv.googlelabs.com and enter the website address that you want to convert as shown in the screenshot below and then click convert.

The requested webpage is now converted as shown below where we can view the devnagari script converted into english.

2. View webpage as PDF:

In this method, you need to convert the webpage into PDF and download it into your blackberry device.

Go to http://www.pdfmyurl.com from your blackberry mobile device and enter the webpage address that you want to convert.Then save the webpage as PDF in your blackberry folder.

Now go to the online PDF viewer from your blackberry browser by typing http://view.samurajdata.se and upload the document from your blackberry as shown below

Within moments, you can view the pdf in your blackberry browser as shown below:

This method may work for iphone and android phones, but I have not tested on those phones. If anybody could get these to work for other phones, please let us know through comments.

Installation Guide:

Save your original template.
Download the 'world cup 2010 template' from the link provided below.
Go to Design > Edit Html and click Browse and upload the 'worldcupTemplate.xml' file from your computer.
When the warning appears, click KEEP WIDGETS
Download the header image from here
Go to Design > Page Elements and Edit header element.
Follow the steps as shown below to choose the header image saved on your computer.

Create Music blog for free: Easy way

Creating music blog without paying a penny had never been easier.
There are three methods to create a music blog.
1. Yahoo Music Player:Just insert the following code just before the <body> tag in your webpage.

A play button will be added before your links to mp3 files (eg. http://yoursite.com/song.mp3). Moreover, when a user clicks any of these buttons, a flash-player will pop-up and all the mp3 files will be available in a playlist. This flash player is visible at the bottom of the browser even when the users scroll the page. Moreover, user can open the player in a new browser as well. Please see the picture to see Yahoo music player in action.

2. Delicious Playtagger:
To make single Mp3 files playable use this method. The disadvantage of this method is you cannot play the songs in the playlist. Just insert the following code just before the <body> tag in your webpage.

3.Opera Unite:
You can get opera unite when you download the opera browser
Opera unite can be used to convert your computer to a web-server easily and its free as well. After you download the opera browser, you can use the web-server option found on the side of the opera browser window. Just click the settings button and get your domain name. After that you can use the "Media Player" option to share the music from your computer without even uploading it to the web.

You just need to specify the folder in your computer from where the opera media player fetches the mp3 files and automatically provides you with a webpage. You can place the link to this webpage in your blog. When the user clicks this link, they can play the music files in the form of a playlist. Users don't need opera browser to play the songs. It works with all other browsers.

The disadvantage of this method is that your computer needs to be open for the users to play the music. Whenever your computer is shut down, your music player goes offline and users cannot access it. Comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

Change your regular blog into mobile blog

"Many people are using mobile phones to access the internet. Few steps can change your existing blog into mobile blog."

When people are accessing internet from mobile, they usually see a jumbled text scattered all over the place. But few minutes of your work can make your blog easily accessible for mobile users. Although this post is primarily for the blogspot users, other blogger may also follow these steps to change their blog into mobile blog.

There are two methods:
Method # 1. Google:

Go to this w e bsite
Enter the name of your website in "Enter a URL:" field.
Hit "Go" Button
Copy the link.
Create a link "Mobile Site" and paste the link address and place it somewhere in the top of your website.
Now whenever the users click this link, they will be redirected to the mobile version of your website.

Although, this method is very easy, users need to access your main website to get into the mobile website. There is another way so that users can access your mobile website when they are browsing the internet from the mobile. When the users are using computers, they can access the main website.

Method # 2. Using CSS for mobile devices:

You need to host two versions of CSS in a remote location, one for computer users and another for mobile users. Google sites comes handy for this purpose.

Go to Edit the HTML of your blogger.
Download the HTML of your blog in case anything goes wrong.
Cut (not copy) all the codes between
Open the Notepad from your desktop and paste the code. Then, save it as screen.css
Now create another file in notepad and paste the following piece of code (I got these codes from Perishable press ):

Save this file as mobile.css
Upload these two css files to google sites and copy the link for these files.

eg. http://sites.google.com/site/YOURSITENAME/screen.css
http://sites.google.com/site/YOURSITENAME/mobile.css

Now go to edit blog in your blogger and paste the following code immediately before </head>

Mobile version of your website can now be viewed by the mobile users without any problem. But when you access the website from computer, it will be the same website

Spam Story

"there were 5001 spams in just 30 days which is about 166 spams in a day."

I am really irritated by the number of spams I get in my inbox. I get most of the spams in Gmail. The rate of receiving such spams is really high. Today, as I was checking my mails, there were 5001(Yes, 5001) spams in just 30 days! Simple mathematics shows that the rate of receiving spams is about 166 spams in a day. I am so sure about the number of days because gmail automatically deletes the spam every 30 days. I deleted all the spams with a click of a button (which is nice by the way). Then, the page read, "Hooray, no spam here!"

I was happy to see this. But after an hour later there were already 7 spams. Point to be noted, these are the spams Gmail found as spam. Many of the spams make directly into Inbox. Out of 1177 emails I got in my Gmail inbox in nine months period, only about 200 emails were the emails I wanted to be in my inbox. Rest of them (about 83%) were the spams which passed through Gmail-Filter.

Dynamic Greeting for your blog

Recover Deleted Comments

Sometimes you might delete a comment on your blog by mistake. You wanted that comment to be in your blog but how to get that as you have already deleted it. No worries though. If you use a little trick, you can recover the deleted comments no matter when you deleted it. But there is a limitation, though. You could recover the deleted comments only if you had provided the email address to deliver a notification whenever someone leaves a comment on your blog. Here are the steps to recover your deleted comments.

1)To turn the comment notification on, go to Customize>Settings>Comments and enter your email address on Comment Notification Address.

2)Whenever someone leaves comment on your blog, you get a notification email with the Date, Name and Comments. You can save this email to act as a backup for the comments on your blog.

3)If you ever delete the comments by mistake, you can retrieve it from the backup you have created; just copy the comments and paste it on your blog with with the original date and name of the comment poster.

Create music blog

Thinking about making your own music blog with music playlists and with upload features and song submission forms for your visitors without spending a penny. Sounds too good to be true but yes you can do it. Without much delay, I would like to give few tips for those who want to have their own music blog :-
1)First of all you need a MP3 player which can play the MP3 files from your blog. De.li.ci.ous Playtagger is the best option for this. To find out how to put this on you blog, see this post.

2)You also need a filehost service which will be hosting your MP3 files. Google sites is the best option. Fileden and Filelodge are other options. But the real problem with fileden and filelodge is the space and bandwidth. You can overcome this problem with multiple accounts.

Important: Since Webjay is down, step#3 involving webjay no longer works. But I have posted about features better than webjay in another post. Instead of using step#3, please visit this link to view the updated post.

3)One problem with playtagger is that all of your songs are seperate ie, there is no continuous playback buthold on, there is a cool workaround. You can get this feature from from webjay's playthis page featureAll you need is go to the webjay page and provide your page's address and you get a code which you can paste on your blog's post or sidebar to make all the songs on thet particular page to be played as a playlist. Moreover, webjay also enables you to play real(SMIL format) songs. Though, you have to make a link to the page containing playlist, it certainly is better than not being able to use Real Format songs at all.

4)Now you can get song upload form which allows your visitors to upload songs and provide them with the song links from here which they can submit to you from the submission form from here.

5)Moreover including videos on your site is a great idea. Youtube is the best source for online music videos. You can easily create the playlists and embed them in your blog.

One thing to keep in mind, when you are using free service such as bravenet, your site gets popups almost everytime someone opens your page.

Your own Graphic Blog header

Inever liked the fact that regular Blogger templates have just the text header for your blog. No worries though, as blogger can be modified the way you wish to. Having your own graphic blog head is cool and being able to change it with an ease is even more cool. Follow the following steps to achieve this.
1)First of all we need a slot next to the blog header for our new element to fit. I have explained a way for this in this Post.
2)Next we need to make sure that the original text header of your blog is not displayed. For this go to your blog template and add display: none; for the #header and #header .description IDs as shown here:

One of the advantages of this method is that you don't need any image-hosting site. You can upload your image directly to the Blogger

Drag n Drop :Adsense ads above and below the header

I tried to achieve the drag and drop feature above and below the header on top of the page and after a few trial and error, I finally succeded in that goal. So, I want to share this cool trick with all of you.

After going through few steps the page should look like the one shown here:-

The steps involved are:-

1)Insert the following piece of code before or after header-wrapper to get the result accordingly.(Code in Yellow is the original one)

Search Button that Blends With Your Blog

Adding search button to your blog makes it easier for your visitors to look up for the topics they might be interested in. Although blogger has the search this blog button on the Navbar, it seems somewhat aloof from rest of your blog. Why not put a search button right on your sidebar, where it is easy to spot. Following are the steps in achieving this objective:-
1)Go to Customize> Add a Page Element> HTML/Javascript
2)Paste the following piece of code

Adding the latest comments sidebar

In the new blogger, you cannot add the latest comments sidebar using the drag and drop feature. Not so cool but there is a cool workaround. Why not give it a try?
So, here is the step by step process to do so if you are interested:-
1)Make use of your comments feed. The address for your comments feed is http://YOURBLOG.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default
2)Go to customize>Add Page Element>Feed and in the feed address paste the link for your comments feed ie. http://YOURBLOG.blogspot.com/feeds/comments/default and name it as Latest Comments.
3)Save it and your blog is ready to rock.

Please note that if you try to test the feed links for comments in your browser, it doesn't open a webpage in Internet Explorer. It opens a webpage in Firefox. Eventhough, the sidebar works perfectly well in both browsers and displays the latest comments.

To include code sample in your blog post Repalce all the < with and >with using notepad (Copy the code to notepad go to Edit>Repalce , type the parameters in the Find What and Repalce With fields and click Repalce All as shown in this picture)

Now copy the changed code from notepad and paste it into the blog post editor.

Adsense Ads in the Post

1)To make the ads Float to the left of the post as shown in the picture:
i)First of all copy the adsense code for the advertisement.
ii)The original format cannot be used in the blogger template. You will get the error message.
iii)You have to change the adsense code a little bit. Don't worry, its not the violation of Adsense Terms of Agreement.
iv)Repalce all the < with and >with using notepad (Copy the adsense code to notepad go to Edit>Repalce , type the parameters in the Find What and Repalce With fields and click Repalce All as shown in this picture)

v)On the Blogger, go to Customize> Template> Edit HTML and make sure to check the box next to Expand widget templates.
vi)Insert the code just before <div class='post-body'> as shown here

How To Add MP3 PLayer in Your Blog

Many people come with difficulties when they try to make the MP3 files playable from their blog. Sometimes you have to download certain files and host the files on a remote server and import those files and sometimes you get bombarded with irritating popups for adding the MP3 player. Space requirements for some players is also a problem. But now its easy to do so. All you need is del.icio.us Playtagger.Just include a piece of code in your HTML and all the links to MP3 Files become playable on your Blog. Isn't that cool??
How to include Playtagger in Blogger Beta:

1)Go to Customize>Template> Edit HTML
and place the following piece of code between </head> and <body>

2)Save your work.

Now whenever you link to mp3's ending in .mp3, a clickable play button will be automatically added.

Recover Deleted Post

well wondering how to do this?? There is a trick and that works if you have burned your feeds. If you go to your feed address in feedburner, you can see all the contents of your blog. So if you have deleted any of your posts and later realised that you needed the same post or siilar post, then simply go to your feed address and copy and paste the post which you found in that page but which can't be found in your main blog page because you have already deleted it from there.

But how was it possible?? Well, its because it takes some time for your feed to be updated. When you have deleted your post, it was removed from your blog page but not from your feed page because it was not updated yet.It works only for short timeframe, probably for some hours only, until the feed page is updated. Eventhough, its a good thing that you can recover your post if you act fast.

Add Latest Posts Sidebar

logger Beta does not support adding the latest posts column in the sidebar but you can do a trick here so that you can make browsing your blog easier.The trick is using the feed service to burn your feed using service such as feedburner (or the blogger feed, if you don't want to use any other feed service) and put this feed link in your blog. With feedburner feeds ready, you can proceed in two ways.

The first way is described below:-

1)In your feedburner account, go to Publicize> Buzzboost and click Activate button
2)Now you can change the settings in whatever way you wish. You can even include the date and the text summary. Save it.
3)Copy the code in Blogger by clicking Customize>Template>add a page element> HTML/JavaScript . Change the name to Latest Posts and save your work.

Now the Second way;

1)After you burn your feeds in feedburner , copy your feed URL eg.http://feeds.feedburner.com/YOURFEEDNAME.

Alternatively,you can use the blogger feed instead. Your feed address is http://BLOGNAME.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default

2)Go to Customize>Template>add a page element>feed in blogger beta. Paste the address of your feed in the feed url.

4)Name it as latest posts.You can also modify it to contain date and author's name.

5)Save your work.
